Maddox's POV
I go through all the paperwork I had to do in the day time. Because from now on probably for a week I will be busy during the day time. I am not sure if that's going to be with Ophelia or Zelda. But I sure am going to be busy.
It is already Tuesday and today I did not drop Ian off. He just took my car and left. That bastard.
I sign the last document and keep it aside. I sit at my desk, leaning more into the chair and stare at the clear skies. I just have four days left to get myself a girl to the party.
From what I have heard, few pubs indeed let people enter only if they are couples. Lucky me, for being single at the wrong time. I am not looking for a potential date but someone I can just take to the party, let her do her thing while I talk to Edgar and that will be it.
I wonder how to approach Ophelia at this point. Because if she was tough like Zelda, I wouldn't have to worry about the consequences. But Zelda told me that Ophelia is someone who would trust anyone so easily. So I should keep that in mind and I am going to try my best to not break that trust of her.
People like that are pure and need to be protected. I walk out and see my dad sitting on the couch with another book in his hand. Now that he is free of any title, he is using all that time to read books.
Maybe that runs in my family. I am into novels too. Ian is a professor and he basically reads anything that says a book. Kelsie loves to read too. Looking at my dad, I think we all got it from him and not my mom.
I slowly walk outside and towards the clearing. I give all the control to Ajax, and he howls before he runs. The last time on the wolf run, I did not let him howl because it was early in the morning.
Now he is howling without any reason too. I sit back and watch everything. The way it all blurs because of the speed Ajax is running at. I close my eyes for a while and enjoy the little time I get for my nap.
I don't know what all Ajax did, but he woke me up from my deep sleep.
"Someone is here" Ajax tells me and I wake up.
I take a look at my surroundings. Ajax is still running but a little slower so I can take in my surroundings.
I notice a movement and Ajax slows down to a point he stills. Then I direct him towards the sound and movement making Ajax run at his maximum pace. I shift back quickly and throw on the spare oversized shirt and basketball shorts.
I stand behind the tree and take a proper look around. I find sandy blonde hair and I stand still. I take a good look and the familiar face finally spots me.
"Oh no! s**t s**t s**t!!" I hear him say and he starts running.
I run behind him and he is no match to my werewolf speed. I just grab him by the back of his neck and push him to the ground.
He falls down, gasping in pain a little when the small rocks and sharp twigs met his skin and he closed his eyes as a reaction to that.
I stand before him and Ajax is already fuelling me to kill him already. But not now. I would like to do much more with him before I do that. So I sit before him without my ass touching the ground and he finally looks at me.
"You and I," I say moving my forefinger back and forth between us,"we need to talk"
"I don't talk to werewolves. I hunt them" he says and I smirk at him.
"You will change your perspective soon, Troy" I say and hold the back of his neck again, dragging him with me.
Everyone in the pack makes way and Troy is worried now. He was not worried earlier and he was so confident about the whole I don't talk to werewolves, I hunt them slogan.
But now he is scared as s**t. Especially when everyone is making way and bowing to me. He realised that I am not an easy one and I am not a lone wolf that he is probably used to, to kill.
I walk to the office in my pack house and throw him on the floor. I grab a chair and sit before him.
"I knew it. I knew you should be a werewolf" he says and I raise my eyebrow at him.
"When you beat me that weekend, I knew with that strength you had to be a werewolf" he says and I nod.
So humans are not that dumbasses I thought them to be.
"So what now?" He asked me.
"How about we start with who is telling you all of this and end with, good bye?" I smirk at him but he smirks back.
"I would rather die" he says and I beat the s**t out of him again.
"I would prefer you rot here" I say and walk out.
I ask the guards to tie him up and do not let him out of sight. They agree to that and I take a walk in the pack. I see everything about the groundwork to the new pack house to other small houses the pack is building for new members.
The population here is growing thanks to the heavy security and safety measures. Because this is the Royal pack. The pack where the king resides. Of course this pack should be safer than any other.
I walk back to the pack house to see Troy sleeping on the floor. Looks like he can sleep just anywhere and wake up just fine.
I stomp loud making the wooden floorboard creak. He wakes up and looks at me with his droopy eyes.
"Are you hungry?" I ask him and he shakes his head, trying to sit up again.
"Are you ready to tell me who your leader is, at least?" I ask him and he shakes his head, denying my question again.
"How did you find me here?" I ask him.
"I have been searching for these woods since yesterday," he says and I nod.
Looks like he still doesn't know that Ian is my brother. I would like to keep it that way. Even Troy escapes, Ian would be safe at the very least.
I look at his face and all I can recall is the way he was taking advantage of drunk Zelda. I want to beat him up again but he still has bruises on his face and body.
"Just tell me about your leader, Troy. He is the one I want to kill. Not you" I say and he smirks.
"Why do you think it's him?" He asks and I am shook with the fact that the leader of werewolf hunters is actually a huntress.
There is a knock on the door and the familiar scent of spice hits my nostrils. Before I warn him, he is already here.
"Brother, Ophelia is here to see you" Ian walks in.
He sees Troy, looks at me, understands what is happening. And we all stand frozen. Before we even come to a conclusion on what we are going to do next, something else hits us harder.
"Oh My God! What is happening?" I heard Ophelia's voice as she is standing at the door, looking at Troy who is badly beaten.
What should I do?
