Chapter 4:
The sun hung bright in the sky. In a way, Kennedy was relieved to see her friends waiting outside for her. They stood in a semicircle; they couldn’t have been more symmetrical if someone measured the distance. No one wanted to be nearest the entrance if—the box being the s**t, Kennedy being the fan, hit.
“So… you’re all right then?” Randell asked.
Kennedy could see the worry lines etched into his forehead… but the question was… moronic. How can someone so smart be so stupid? “Yeah, seems like it isn’t my time yet. Alleye get them going, will ya?” The youngest witch pulled out her hover-wheel. It was her time to say something stupid. “You guys be safe. I will get to the lab as soon as I can.”
