"Are you still watering the plants?" I turned around when I heard my mom's voice coming. I saw her with her eyes narrowed while looking at me and the plants I'm watering. I looked at the beautiful flowers, I love flowers and they need water. "They are growing too fast mom, they need more water," I said while still raising my hand to give them water. "How about the garden in the left side? Did you give them water too?" she asked. "Yes mom, they're done," I answered cheerfully. I heard her chuckled that made me look at her once again. It's only me and my mom in our lives, living in the small town of Holy Kingdom were people are working hard to feed their families. Though, I have a brother but he is living with his father, so we really don't have a bond. We just smile to each other when we bump in Holy University. "Thank you for working hard to grow our flowers and vegetables so we can sell them," mom said while picking the dried leaves of the flowers and just put it in the soil. "Watering them is the only thing that I can do. If only I can make them grow in an instant, I will never hesitate of doing that. But, only the first degree Royals can fo such thing. I wish I am powerful like them," I mumbled. Mom looked at me and chuckled a little. "Royals are wealthy but not all royals are happy. It's okay to live in a simple life with love and happiness," she said but I kind off disagreeing that. "Royals are wealthy but not all Royals are happy," I repeated what she said. "That is true, but still they are wealthy and powerful. They can do whatever they want to do," I said. "Even the King and the Queen, they can't bring back the light of the Holy Kingdom. Not because they are powerful like how we planted in our mind, they were capable of doing everything. There are things that they can't do. Everyone's capability is limited," mom preached. "But they are still powerful, they still were able to shower us a light even if that is fake, at least we can see the outside," I said, retaliating my mother's words. I almost laugh when she glared at me for not stopping voicing out I believe in. "Amaraaa!" I stopped watering the plants when I heard my name echoed the whole garden and there, my best friend running with all her might and the fastest she can do. Smiling like an i***t and obviously she is happy for something I do not know. "Oh, Gillian is coming. I should just prepare for your snack today," mom said and didn't even wait for me to speak and tell her what I want for snack. I pouted when I realize we don't have other snack a-side from fried sweet potato and banana. I sigh. "Why are you running? Why do you look like a witch?" I asked my best friend when she finally stopped and reached in front of me. She's panting, putting her hands in her knees to balance. "I was looking for you in aunt's store but it was close. So I decided to come over here. Why did you guys close the store? It's still early," she said, referring to our store in the Holy market where we sell vegetables and flowers. "We don't have plenty of veges and flowers today. Mom said everything she displayed there are sold out that is why I am watering the vegetables and flowers so they will grow faster and healthy," I answered pointing the flowers. "You and your mother are working hard to help other people in the next town," she said seriously. She's correct. We sell much vegetables and flowers so that we were able to help those Holiester in the next town. We are living in small town and we were able to work for ourselves, however those Holiester, they are the class that is not allowed to go to school and no one is accepting them in any job outside of their town. Mom always have a soft heart, she was scolded by the leader of our town several times because of helping those Holiester but mom is persistent. When my brother caught the leader beating my mother, he was very pissed and warned the officials to leave mom alone. "Because they need help. I went there with mom several times and I have seen them with my two eyes. That time, I forgot I was still wearing Holy University's uniform, they got scared that I might hurt them," I said, feeling how hurt it caused to me. I was hurt not because they stepped backward when they saw me and the smile in their faces faded. They were even ready to fight but when mom said I am her daughter, they bow down and apologize. They love mom and they said, some Holy University students used their powers to slave them. "I also want to go there, tell me the next time you and aunt Juilet are going back there," Gillian said, excitedly. I smiled at her and nodded. "You'll love there. Although, they are the so called poorest of the poor but I would say, they are well mannered than the other Holiester here in our town or even in the Holy University. "Oh, before I forget, I came here because we need to buy stuffs for school. We need new uniform and notebooks, school is in two days. I am sure that Holy City is crowded," she said that made me realize what she just said. "Oh, crap! Yes, but mom is making snack for us. Let's just eat first so we won't starve ourselves going in the Holy City," she smiled to what I said. "I was also thinking, if we happen to bump any royals there, we will just be push in the back and can choose stuff after them, so we have to go there early." "I wish we will not be seeing any royals there. They were all boastful," I said rolling my eyes.
