Jaxson couldn’t believe his brother’s crazy, childish idea had worked. It really was the simplest plans that were sometimes the most effective, he thought as he watched Chloe make her way deeper into the college library. In the silence, Jaxson watched as Chloe stared at the piece of paper in hand again before looking up and reading the guiding references hanging from the ceiling between stacks of books. He should have probably felt a little guilty that they had tricked her into coming to the only place he could easily corner her, but Jaxson wasn’t feeling very generous with guilt that afternoon.
