chapter 14

Amara pov continued

As I’m losing myself to the feeling, I catch the moon in my eyes and the light grows brighter. Then so bright we all have to stop and cover our eyes, as quick as it came it stopped. Opening my eyes I see a figure, on the other side of the lake, her skin glowing slightly. Her hair touches the ground and glows silver and a long white dress flows around her. I stand up and so do Ashley and Alexander, we can all feel her in our bones. She’s our mother, our goddess and our maker. She smiles and walks on the water of the lake, once she reaches our side, we all instinctively bow our heads. ‘eyes up my dears,’ we all hear in our minds but not with our ears. She looks us over and settles on me, oh gosh I hope I haven’t done anything to upset her. “I’m not upset dear, just... confused” oh she can hear me, “yes I can hear you, you are all my children after all.”

“May I ask why you’re confused?” I blurt out before I can stop myself.

“come here child” she beckons to me. I do as I’m told stopping beside her to face her, so I can keep Ashley and Alexander in the corner of my eye. Selene sighs and strokes my hair fondly, “I’m afraid you were correct in your original assumption.” Oh the one where I said I hope I haven’t upset her, “no no you haven’t upset me, I mean your assumption about this bond.”

“I’m sorry, I don’t understand?” I say looking over to see my mates faces, both etched with worry.

“You were correct when you first met them, you thought the bond was a mistake.” Her face is apologetic.

“how can our bond be a mistake?” I look at my mates again, Alexander is holding Ashley and she has tears falling down her face. I want to run to them and comfort them, I can feel their sadness.

“I’m not sure how this bond was formed, I am looking into it, but this bond was not created by me. No bond such as this has ever existed, twins do often share a mate, but they are not mated to each other. Never have three individuals been mated to each other at one time. So I am here to correct this mistake, Amara dear you have a mate out there waiting for you. Your true mate that I hand picked for you, it’s now time you go to him.” I’m shocked at her words I can’t even think.

“No, please moon goddess I beg you,” Ashley says, I look over to see her kneeling and Alexander quickly following. “you might not have created this bond, but please this bond is what we all want. Amara is apart of us, please don’t take her.” Ashley pleads, tears still streaming down her perfect cheeks.

“I too believe this is where Amara truly belongs, we beg you to let her stay.” Alexander says bearing his neck to the Selene. The ultimate form of respect, an alpha kneeling and submitting.

“I appreciate your acts of submission, but this is a difficult situation.” Selene closes her eyes and thinks for a while, “perhaps we can leave this choice up to Amara.” I look over and see hope in my mates eyes. “ but I have a condition, Amara you and your true mate deserve a chance before you make your decision. So I will not end your bonds, but I will put a temporary block, so that you can feel the bond with your true mate. Then after you have spent time with him, we will all return here and you can make your choice. Do you accept my condition?”

“ The block, it wont hurt them will it?” I ask fearing for my mates.

“no, it will not hurt, they will simply stop sensing you as their mate for now.” Selene comforts me.

“OK I accept,” if I don’t she could just break our bonds. I have to do this for now, to get back here to them. Suddenly I feel a prickling along my skin and it’s like a part of my heart is empty. Arabella is silent, but I feel her sadness creeping into me.

“come its time to go to him.” She had her hand out for mine.

“Please, let me say goodbye.” She nods and places her hands behind her back waiting. I turn and run to Ashley and Alexander, they both hold their hearts but get up when they see me coming. I crash into their arms and it feels different, the tingles are gone and their scents aren’t as strong. I feel myself cry at the loss of our bond. But they hold me tighter between them, “ I’m going to miss you.” I feel my heart break saying those words, even without the bond I can’t imagine leaving them or this pack, that has become my home.

“we will be right here waiting for you,” Alexander whispers in my ear. Ashley turns my head to her and kisses me, the sparks are gone but her passion is the same. My heart still skips a beat at her kiss, which gives me hope of our bond returning. Alexander then kisses me and I can feel myself melt into him, he holds me up as my legs threaten to give out. Our kiss ends and we part slowly looking at each other.

“Bond or no bond, we will always love you.” Ashley chokes out and I can’t help but hold her again.

“I love you too Ashley and I love you as well Alexander.” I say stepping back, I give their hands one last squeeze and walk back to the moon goddess, taking her hand. We cross the lake together and its an odd feeling, not falling in. I turn back and see Alexander kiss and hold Ashley trying to comfort her and I see his own tears in his eyes.

A bright light surrounds me, and I close my eyes for a moment. When I opening them again the lake in front of me has morphed into a flowing river, with a waterfall at one end. We walk across and wait, “he will sense us and come here.” Selene says quietly “I can feel the pain in your heart, but this had to happen dear.” She has tears in her eyes and holds her heart, I can see she truly feels for me and I can’t blame her for any of this, it’s not her fault.

“I know, I just wish it didn’t hurt this much. Thankyou for allowing me a choice, rather then just breaking our bonds.” She kisses my cheek and I feel her emotions I feel her love for me and all her children I feel her pain for me too and my sadness. I turn and hug her tight, not knowing if it is ok or not. But I go with my instincts, she holds me tight too and runs a hand through my hair.

“None of my children have hugged me before, probably fearing they’re not allowed like you did. But you followed your heart and did it anyway, that is what I want you to do with this bond. Give him a fair chance, but follow your heart even if it leads you back to Ashley and Alexander. I know you will make the right choice for you.” She pulls back looking in my eyes and I feel so connected to her. Her eyes sparkle and tingles form where her skin touches mine and she smiles kissing my forehead. We hear paws pounding the ground getting closer and closer, here he comes.
