Chapter Six
JT followed the sound of Krista’s humming. When she looked up from her task and saw him, she became very still. “Hi there. I was just making us some breakfast. Are you hungry?”
“Yes,” was JT’s short and to-the-point answer. He turned his head away when their gazes remained locked for longer than was comfortable. The recollection of her soothing ministrations as she had tended to his wound ran hot through him, causing a strange yearning sensation in his chest, tightness in the lower regions of his anatomy.
JT suddenly found that he did not like the space between them, but resisted the urge to narrow the distance separating their bodies. Confusion at the strange sensation growing within his center caused panic to rise within him once again, though he fought against it. Krista
