Goodbye

Alley POV   Arriving back home I felt sad, nervous and excited. Just as we got to the door I stopped in my tracks, making Stephen look down at me. "I promise this won't be the last time you see them, maybe your father and I can come to an agreement on a better alliance''. He tried to reassure me. Nodding at his words we walked through the front door to finally face my family. I sent a silent prayer up to the moon goddess that everything would go smoothly and no one would lose their temper.       "Please come and have a seat with us in the dining room". I heard my mother say as she stood in the doorway. I rushed to engulf my mother in a hug. "It'll be okay Alley no need to be sad". My mother whispered in my ear trying to soothe me. "I know it will be, the adjustment will be hard at first." I replied. "Let’s not discuss that right now and enjoy lunch shall we?" As we all sat down my brothers weren't as playful as they’d usually be and my father still looked sad. The omegas came out to serve lunch and at first it was quite awkward with no one saying anything.       My father cleared his throat before he spoke, "It will be different not to have you around Alley but we knew this day would come and I can only thank the moon goddess that you won't be so far that you can’t visit from time to time". I raised my head to see my father speaking to me. "Of course I will come visit and I am sure you will all be welcome to visit as well. As soon as I know my way around I would love to give you all a proper tour". I responded while looking at my mate for verification. "Of course you all are welcome, I would never keep you apart. I can tell how happy she is around all of you." Stephen replied, putting my mind at ease. "But why does she have to go today? I mean, couldn't we at least spend one more day with our sister?" Jackson replied, a little bitterness to his tone, before I could reply Tye did, "Chill Jackson, we can still go visit and vice versa. Yes I would have loved another day but with the rogues attacking Stephen can't be away from his pack". Jackson rolled his eyes but didn't utter another word as his brother was right.        "Leia and I packed your bags and they are waiting for you, we didn't want you to have the stress of doing it on your own". My mother said. "Alpha Spear, I would like to speak to you in private after lunch if you permit it", Stephen said and  everyone perked their ears up. "Of course, how about now as it is almost time for you both to leave." With that the two got up from the table while my mom, my brothers and I went to the living room".       "I want you to call me everyday, check in with me and if you need anything you call me?" My mother said looking at me with tears in her eyes. "Mom she will be fine, she knows she can call for any-" "Shut it Tye." She snapped and a giggle escaped my lips "I'm happy for you little sis but I have to admit I'm bummed you're leaving, I mean it will be very quiet around here." Jackson said and I punched him in the arm making him laugh at me. "We don't want you to be sad that you are leaving", he said. "I am sad to be leaving but I'm also excited to see what the future holds for us." I said. "I want grand pups as soon as possible!" My mother blurted out and my mouth hung open. "Seriously mom?! You are not going to talk about that with us here!" Tye groaned while Jackson covered his ears. I couldn't help but laugh at their reaction. "Yeah mom we don't want to see her as anything but our innocent sister." Jackson glared at her.       "Watch that glare boy before I knock it off your face. It's perfectly fine for me to say I want grand pups, she's the first to get a mate." She snapped. Jackson and Tye never really looked for their mate. Jackson was busy learning how to run the pack and Tye was trying to figure out what he would do when Jackson took over. I could understand why they wouldn’t want one just yet, they needed to figure out what they were going to become before anything else. I always knew what I was supposed to do and in a way, I think so many alphas brought their own sons to the ball hoping one of them would be my mate. Not that I minded and I never really put much thought in it. I didn't need that kind of stress.       "You will be a perfect Luna my dear you have nothing to fear." My mother said. "I've learned from the best but I don't think I could ever be as good a Luna as you are Momma." I said tearing up a little. "Don't you cry, each pack is different and they will love you either way. Don't put so much stress on yourself it wrinkles your forehead." She said wiping the tears that had escaped my eyes. My mind drifted off to what my dad and Stephen were talking about. Was he having the "dad talk"? Oh goddess I hoped not, I didn’t think I could live with the embarrassment. --Stephen’s POV--      Once they reached the office Alley’s father offered Stephen a seat. "I mean no disrespect by taking her home so soon, but as your son said the rogues’ attack is not something I can ignore", I said. "I know you bear no ill intentions but as long as we can see her I will be happy, thank you for making that possible". "No need to thank me as I said she is happy around all of you, which brings me to a proposal. What if we better aligned our packs by diminishing the border between us but still have patrols?" I said to a very visibly shocked  Alpha Spear. "I would have offered that myself but I didn't think you would agree. We can arrange it, so that way our packs can come and go freely between territories but still have patrols, let’s try to set a meeting at your office to discuss this further, we can both write down our ideas and expectations", he replied. "I will call you in the morning and we can confirm a day and time. It will give me tonight to help Alley settle in while giving her a proper tour". "Please take care of her, she is very precious to us", he replied. "I will take care of her, she is mine to cherish." With that both men walked out of the office to find the family.        While walking Stephen couldn't help but let his thoughts run wild. Alley was the most beautiful woman he had laid eyes on. She smelled of roses and lilies. She was strong but also caring at the same time. Not many people could be that way, but what shocked him the most was her willingness to fight side by side with the warriors and guards to protect the people of her pack. As much as he admired that trait it also scared him. She was his weakness and he was hers. The thought of her fighting made him proud but scared. He couldn't have asked for a better mate. He wanted nothing more than to love and care for her even though others saw him as harsh and edgy. "She will be perfect for us don't you think Denver?" I asked my wolf. "She's more than perfect although she may kick our ass into shape." Denver replied with a grunt at the end.        "She probably will but it's you who really needs it. Her wolf isn't much smaller than you." I said only to hear him snort. "I can't wait to meet her." "Well that can wait a little while, I already have an idea of what you two would do." I snapped "You can imagine but even that wouldn’t be enough for you to actually know", he replied mischievously and I cut the line before he could say anything else. He has been waiting for so long and only the goddess knew what those two would do when we finally let them meet each other.           I walked into the living room to find Alley with her family and closest friends hugging and crying as they said their goodbyes, I let her have her space to do so. "Stephen I have her bags in the truck." Alex, my beta, said through the mind link. "Go ahead and take it over, we will follow shortly". When she was standing next to me I looked into her eyes and for a moment it felt as if it was just us. She smiled up at me and my wolf rolled over. "Such a sucker for her smile already Denver?" I smirked at him earning a growl in return." Are you ready to go Princess?" I asked watching her cheeks turn pink. "I am, let's go before I start crying again". She replied "Bossy little thing already isn’t she". Denver huffed but melted when we saw unshed tears in her eyes.         We bid our last goodbyes and got in the car that Alex left for us to take back. "Don't worry you will see them soon as your father and I will set up a meeting soon to discuss some things". I said. "Thank you for being so thoughtful." She replied and with those words we drove off towards  my pack and her soon to be pack. 'I hope she likes it' I thought inwardly, but I also wondered what was going through that pretty head of hers.
