A few weeks later, in the middle of August, I took a day off and went with Landry to the community college for the class we’d talked about. I had a great time and played a bunch of songs for the students. I demonstrated various techniques and added a brief history lesson of the banjo. The whole thing was well received. After it was over, Landry took me to meet with his boss about a possible position teaching part-time. I was told there was an opening on Saturdays for a community-type workshop that rotated instructors between various instruments.
