Chapter 12: The Shade Diner
They lumbered through the snow and ended up three short blocks away from Landslide Dome. The Shade Diner never closed. Not on major holidays or blizzards, open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Sharon Shade, a tall and bristly woman, owned and operated the place for the last twenty-five years and took Avery and Josh’s orders. Both men asked for coffee, burgers, and fries, which the diner just happened to have an upstanding reputation for.
Having the restaurant to themselves, they talked about the Tritons’ game with the Daredevils. Both agreed that the Tritons would have a great upcoming season.
