Second day

It was Rory’s second day but it seems fitting in wasn’t really that easy, since a lot of the students there already had groups and friends, which was impossible to join in, seeing as they seem to keep to themselves. Even in class, he wasn’t able to make friends or at least get anyone to talk to him, making him feel like a total fool whenever he tried to make conversation. He gave up on his third attempt when he tried to approach a group and was just shrugged off. He felt like an outcast, isolated and alone, sitting on the farthest table within the cafeteria, eating the peanut butter and sandwich that he made for his lunch. Rory ended up doing what he usually does in times like that, think and just stay in his imaginary world where he was still with his family. “Hey, this seat taken?” The playful voice jolted him awake as the young man’s shiny smile was once again radiating at him. It took Rory a few moments to finally get his bearings from the sudden surprise. He still can’t get used to the man’s dashing smile and his very alluring face. Though he wanted to keep a straight face, yet he just couldn't help his smile from coming out, feeling the weird ticklish feeling inside him while looking at Maynard who appeared so fresh like he had just gotten out of the shower with his fitted white shirt, perfectly hugging denim jeans that seemed to showcase his nicely built thighs and a bulge that seemed to be telling him the size of what’s inside of it. “No,” he quickly states almost getting tongue-tied after realizing what he was starting to think at that moment almost making him blush in humiliation. “Great,” Maynard chuckles while sitting down. Rory quickly stopped gawking at the man, returning his gaze on his lunch, he was starting to feel really weirded out right now, having such sudden and almost uncontrolled thoughts and urges like that which did not happen that often. He remembered it wasn’t that safe to show his colors and his true self at the moment, as he knew that it could possibly cause him trouble being in a new environment and school like that. Luckily, Maynard still seemed to be oblivious of what he was doing at that time as he was busy gesturing out to some other people. Though Rory was really happy to have the young man’s company, he could not help but feel a bit wary from the quick familiarity and sudden closeness, since he was not used to people being nice to him, besides the fact that such action usually meant trouble, based on his experience from his past encounters and old schools that he’d been to. Deep in his thought, Rory did not notice what was happening around him until he raised his head when he felt the presence of people around him, he quickly froze when all of a sudden two gorgeous girls sat down on both sides of Maynard and another handsome fellow was now beside him. “Guys, this is Rory, he just transferred here so be nice to him. Rory, these are my friends, Beatrice, Trisha, and Kyle,” Maynard introduces the three people that we're now sharing their table. “Hi, there new kid,” the girl named Beatrice greeted waving her hand after flipping her wavy golden hair that got in front of her face. She had this really beautiful white complexion, and sunny personality, happily clapping her hands making her round chest bounce as she giggled when Rory gave her a nod. Her almond-shaped eyes showed the sweetness that was radiating from her gray pupils. The girl somewhat reminded him of those famous singers that she loved listening to. “Hello,” that was the only thing he could say feeling a bit of place within the group. “I saw you getting out of David Mathews car, so I reckon you two are related?” The girl named Trisha suddenly says. Rory swallowed hard seeing the intensity in her deep hazel brown eyes that matched her long straight hair, he was a bit flustered from the question that he was not able to quickly answer so the Trisha just took a sip of her drink making him notice the dark red, heart-shaped lips as she turned to the others. This girl was far more different than the other one, she was like one of those powerful controlling women that he’d see in business magazines, beauty and brains packed in one. “Yes, he’s my uncle,” Rory finally answers after managing to find his voice again. “Oh,” All four of them said at the same time, exchanging looks as if something was wrong. “Why?” Rory couldn’t help but ask, feeling something off about the people around him after he mentioned that. “Well, he rarely stays at his house since he’s always leaving, so we never really got to know him much,” Kyle finally joined in. Rory almost gasped when he turned to face the guy and he saw how close the man’s face was to him, giving him a good view of his seemingly sleepy dark brown eyes, black hair, and very long eyelashes that seem to flutter, his tan skin gave an almost sensual vibe, that reminded him of those hot Latino men that he used to crush over. Quickly feeling his body react to the man’s closeness, Rory averted his gaze once more to the front, lowering his head to make sure he only saw the table as he was starting to feel really awkward being close to such amazingly good looking people. He knew he shouldn’t be feeling that way while in there, but the allure of them around him was just so hard to handle, especially the two young men who seemed to be making his hormone go crazy just by being near them. “Tight-knit community remember,” Maynard chuckled trying to lighten up the mood of their conversation because of Rory's sudden silence. He just gave out another nod since he was really trying to think straight right now. “I don’t know much about him either, since I only met him a few days ago, I was supposed to live with my aunt but she could only take one of us, so my sister went with her instead and I ended up with my uncle,” he tells them, making sure to not look. Rory knew he needs to continue the conversation so that he could divert his thought to something else, other than what was running on his mind. He also didn’t want to make a fool of himself looking all flush and sweaty while surrounded by them. “What happened?” Trisha finally asked. “Trish!” Maynard hissed. Trisha got a good glaring from the young man who’s lips suddenly tightened when she did not budge and just gave out the same stare. That got Rory’s attention and curiosity, feeling the sudden tension around them. It was like his uncle was someone that was a cause for concern that made him intrigued and didn’t really want to end up in the same boat. “No, It’s all right,” he tells him, breaking the staring competition between the two. Trisha turned to him with a much friendlier look. “So, what happened?” “My mom and dad are having a bit of a falling out after our eldest sister disappeared, they kept blaming one another and they’re really in a rough spot right now,” Rory explains to the group. The memory of that faithful day was etched in his heart, that it was still so painful right now, making him teary-eyed just by remembering all of it. That got a sorrowful look from everyone around the table, even Trish who had a straight face was unable to keep her seriousness. “Sorry to hear that, did you know what happened to her?” Beatrice, though she was on the other side of the table stood up just to give Rory a rub on the shoulder to comfort him. Rory felt somewhat thankful and at ease since it had been quite so long since the last time that someone cared about what happened to him and his family, so it became much easier that time to open up to the group. “Not really, but the last time I saw her was before she left, she went on this trip abroad for a vacation after that she never came back, though my mom and dad haven’t given up looking for her even though it’s been two years now,” he says, biting his lips remembering the times at how devastated they all were after hearing the news about it. That sent her mom and dad almost crazy, knowing that their daughter was at someplace, alone and in danger and possibly dead. Just the thought of that made Rory shiver in distress, her throat suddenly tightening remembering as he felt so helpless at that moment. “Are they some kind of operatives to be able to do that?” Trisha asks a bit more careful with her words this time. “Sort of. They were so bent on finding my sister that they rarely come home, so they decided to leave us with our relatives for a while, while they sort things out,” Rory sighed, a weak smile appearing on his face as he remembered the main cause of their current situation. Maynard noticing the heaviness around them finally decided to change the topic and just tried to forget about it all by starting a different conversation. But Rory was already deep in thought, contemplating the things that were happening in their family, all because of that faithful day.
