The Vampire Castle
In a faraway island, in a place hidden away from humans. There lay a beautiful grand Castle. The place where all important Vampires had to come and gather whenever summoned. Where important decisions on Vampire matters were made. For it was the home of the most powerful Vampire Royal Family.
The Heartens, an Elite Pureblood family that were direct descendants of the first Vampire ever created.
They possessed powers rivaling that of any of the normal Vampires and had ruled with an iron fist over the Vampires for well...forever.
Thirty years ago, the previous Vampire King Jake and his soulmate Vampire Queen Sonia passed on the throne to their two beloved twin Sons. So, the Vampire kingdom was now ruled by two Vampire Kings, Aleksander and his Twin brother Adrian.
Both of whom were presently sitting on their thrones. Looking very kingly and regal. Golden crowns encrusted in red ruby diamonds, on their heads, and dressed like the Kings they were. They ruled fairly and were well-loved by their people. But being Vampires, they still had their own dark sides too and could be ruthless when needed to.
No Vampire dared to try to challenge them as they were at present, the most powerful Vampires. Blessed with their unique Royal abilities.
“Your Highnesses, some Vampires have raised their displeasure when it comes to blood. Many are complaining that they are tired of drinking animal blood because it tastes bland. It's like being on a vegetarian diet.”
“They are also complaining that rich wealthy vampires are the only ones enjoying their immortal lives, easily affording expensive and willing human blood donors.” One of the Vampire coven leaders Gian spoke after standing up as he addressed the Kings.
Right now, a meeting was going on between the Vampire Kings and the Vampire Coven leaders. There were seven of them, each leader tasked with being in charge of a continent and the Vampires in that continent. This made it easier to manage a whole race that was spread out all over the world.
“Leader Gian, so what is it that they want to be done.” One of the Vampire Kings spoke addressing the issue which had just been presented regarding blood by the Vampire coven leader.
“They want the ban on drinking blood from humans to be removed. To be allowed to go back to the old days when vampires could just drink from any human they want.” Gian replied, a calculating look in his eyes just like all the vampires in the room.
“That ban was put in place by my mother for a reason so we could have peace. I instead have a better solution. A company has just created a blood tablet. Placed in any glass of water it will turn it into blood, the same taste, nutrients, and smell.” Vampire King Adrian spoke back with a smirk on his face. He did love always being steps ahead of his opponents.
It was like playing chess and predicting what the next move would be played on the chessboard by your opponent. Then having a countermeasure in place.
That was after all what Vampire Politics was all about.
The North America Coven leader Gian had come wanting to make it look like they were bad Kings not caring about their subjects if they refused to do what he was presenting.
“But my King, that is artificial blood, the people want what's real-
“GIAN. My brother`s word is final.” Upon hearing the other Vampire King, Aleksander`s deadly tone and command, Gian immediately shut his mouth and sat down.
For today the other Vampire King looked like he was not in the mood for games. Unlike his brother King Adrian.
A grim filled and sad expression had been on his face all day. Even King Adrian was sending his twin worried looks too and wondering what was going on in his head.
The next Vampire Leader decided to stand up and also present her own report.

Aleksander POV
“My Kings, the witches send a messenger that they need to redo the spells on our sun rings. To improve the amount of time that they will allow us to be in the sun without getting burned.”
I could not help but release another bored sigh.
Another boring day of just royal duties upon royal duties, meetings, and paperwork.
Life felt so meaningless.
“Sent out a notice to all Vampires and have them sent their sun rings there. I will also have mine sent too.” My brother Adrian replied to them while staring at our father, Jake`s sun ring which he now wore as his.
He wore it for sentimental reasons. For he did not need that sun ring since we had inherited a special gene from our mother Queen Sonia. One which allowed us to be the only Vampires able to walk in the sun with no problem.
I continued staying quiet and letting my brother deal with all the concerns and reports. I was tired.
Tired of being here and being bored to death with Vampire Politics, instead of being out there and trying to win her heart.
Every time that I closed my eyes, it was only that beautiful heart-shaped face haunting my mind.
How even though they had stared at me with hatred, I still craved to gaze again at those mesmerizing chocolate brown eyes. To be lost and hypnotized by them.
To smell that delicious heavenly scent of hers again.
There was not a single moment that passed without me thinking about her. Like what was she busy doing right now, what was she wearing? What did she like to eat and what were her favorite things to do?
What made her smile?
I wanted to know everything about her. To hear that soothing lullaby of her heartbeat which could easily calm my mind.
But most of all to be right next to her and be by her side.
At that moment something clicked in my mind.
Like what the hell was I even doing here then? Suffering in silence and not doing what I really wanted to do?
I immediately stood up, startling everyone in the meeting as even my brother paused in his answer to another report and was now staring at me.
“I’m leaving,” I announced out loud while removing the crown from my head and abruptly walking out of the room.
My Vampire guards or shadows immediately followed behind while keeping their distance.
My assistant and my Advisor who had been waiting by the door also joined in tailing behind me. As I headed for my wing upstairs they started busy stating what other daily schedules awaited me. Thinking today was just going to be like any other ordinary day in my Royal Kingly life.
Upon reaching my bedroom, I slammed the door shut on all their faces, leaving them behind with startled expressions.
"Alone at last," I whispered in relief after locking the bolt. And then started blurring around the room with Vampire speed, packing stuff into a suitcase.
“Aleksander, what was that in the meeting room? What has been going on with you lately?” I heard Adrian`s voice shout after he teleported into the room with a bewildered expression.
It seems even a locked door could not keep my twin from bothering me.
“And why are you leaving? Is it about our parents? Do you miss them? IS their absence affecting you?” my twin continued in concern with the questions after I remained silent and continued packing the suitcases.
I almost rolled my eyes at his quick assumption in thinking that this was about our parents.
“This is not about mother and father, stop acting like their dead and we are still kids. I know they are safe and alright up there.” I replied after going into the bathroom to pack some bathroom stuff too.
A whole month had now passed ever since the day we both said goodbye to our parents. They did not die but instead traveled to the Moon so that our mother could start doing her duty and training as the Moon goddess. But unlike me, my brother should have been asking those questions to himself for he was the one who seemed to be missing them more than me.
“Then what is it,” Adrian immediately demanded now blocking my way to the bag on the bed. He was always so stubborn. I knew he would not let me go without a fight if I did not tell him what he wanted to know.
But I did not have time to waste physically fighting him, for we always seemed to be matched in everything. There would be no winner at the end, I knew all his moves just as he knew mine. Its why our parents decided to just make us both Kings at the same time.
“I am going to go get her.” I finally replied with a love-struck expression on my face as I thought about her.
As soon as I said it, he quickly knew who I was talking about.
“Aleksander! She is a Vampire HUNTER. One the Best at that. She will KILL you.” Adrian immediately shouted with wide eyes.
I was not surprised having expected that reaction from my twin.
That reaction was what had delayed me in the first place from going to be with her sooner.
But this time I would not be persuaded by him again. I had made up my mind.
“Every moment and every day that goes by of me being away from her...already feels like death. I would rather die by her hand after having gazed at her once again.” I replied back as I envisioned that breathtaking beautiful face of hers another thousand times in my mind.
Even if she ruthlessly plunged a wooden stake into my heart, ending my immortal life. I would die with a smile and as a happy man for her face would be the last thing I would have seen.
“You lovestruck fool! She will never accept or love a Vampire. It's in her blood to hate us. Worse than death is that she will reject you and then you are left to suffer the excruciating rejection process.” Adrian continued, voicing out his fears too.
That was my twin for you, always so logical and never listening to his heart. He looked at everything in only black and white and did not understand true love. I instead was tired of suffering this great yearning in my heart. I was willing to at least try. And would rather die or suffer trying.
“You take care of the kingdom brother. And leave me be to go pursue what is important to me.” I replied, with a blank expression and a deadly undercurrent in my tone. My eyes now changing color.
It was my way of letting him know that I would kill him, my twin, or not if he tried to stop me.
I refused to sit tucked away here while she was out there. To go on living with life and pretending as if she did not exist.
Going around him, I took my packed bags and walked out the door.
Outside, a limousine was already waiting. And one of my guards immediately took the bags and placed them in the boot.
My brother followed outside and was now staring at me from the window with arms crossed as I sat inside the car.
“I will only step foot again in this castle, if it’s with her by my side,” I said to him in a serious voice as the car was about to start. I needed my brother to understand. I was tired of feeling so empty without her.
“I know how you feel and I won't stop you since you have made up your mind.”
"But Aleksander just know that if you end up dead at her hands, which you will probably be because of this foolishness. I will gladly attend the funeral...just to tell your ashes that I told you so."
