Chapter3

Jordan's POV I could literally imagine a future stocked in the woods leading a so-called clan. Well, my thoughts were unimaginable as I could be weird at times. Otherwise, why would we relinquish a formal education to pursue a future in a clan's supernatural tutelage? With the amount of transformations ongoing in the universe, being able to control water, create ice and call on thunder isn't any way forward for a young and ambitious fellow like me. Maybe, if mixed with science and technology, we could add some spice. Just as if he was reading my mind, Zane, my best friend, walked into the hall sitting quietly right beside me. “Hey Jordan, the Clan's Elder will be here soon,” he muttered. I can't wait to get over this boring course and take up some sporting activities, he chuckled. Yea Zane, I'm equally bored by the Clan's routine. Have you ever thought of what life outside this Pack would feel like? Zane straightened up. “I mean having the opportunity to explore the other world, accessing technology and deeper powers, mysteries and having connections with people outside here?” I sighed, cupping my hands on my face. The Clan's school of mystery was only reserved for the highly gifted and also members of high ranking in the Clan. So, though I wasn't a high-ranking member, my supernatural abilities granted me access to the Pack. While still conversing, the Clan's Elder walked in. It's obvious he was scheduled to handle the latest lesson, Mystery 201. Mystery 201 had its focus on various supernatural beings from ancestral days to the present, and my attention was drawn particularly to the present day she-wolf, who by prophecy was said to be born in our generation into the Stones of the Moon Crest Pack with great immortality and power. “What would she look like, does she really exist, following the fearsome tales of how the Pack was annihilated? Could it be possible that the stones survived amidst the wreckage of the pack? ” I soliloquized, shifting my attention to a wide range of reality. My mind beeped with anxious feelings, enveloped by an intense level of fearful tension as I heard screaming sounds depicting feelings of distress. Pursued by a group of fearsome wolves, she could barely find her feet as she battled for survival. I was right in front of her, trying to calm my mind, thinking about how I left the clan's tutelage and ended here ; the middle of nowhere. I stared right into her eyes, she looked weak and helpless, discriminated against and abandoned by many who supported her. In a bid to assist, I stretched my hand to her and was about to hold her to safety when I was suddenly tapped. Instantly, I beamed back to consciousness with mixed emotions, looking confused. This was the first time my vision was very clear and seemed so real. “Jordan, what century was the last immortal being born, and what prophecy was she meant to fulfil?” The clan's teacher questioned. Apparently, he had noticed my absent-mindedness in the class and sought to make corrections as I was one of his best. An eighteen-year-old who was skilled in all affairs of magic and mystery. Though I wasn't satisfied with just being the best, I was equally longing for better opportunities to explore the universe and, if possible, seek alliance, thus I was immediately drawn back to consciousness. As much as I had heard some chattering while the class was on, I was completely focused on what I saw. Who was the girl in distress, and why was I at that scene to help? I kept pondering. “Ssssiiiiirrr,” I stammered, trying hard to recall. He sighed, and left the Clan's room in disgust, not knowing if he was done with his lectures or leaving in anger, as I couldn’t give response to his question, but before then, he walked close and whispered to my ears, “meet me this instance.” Perplexed and confused as to what could have caused the sudden outburst of displeasure, I followed suit. Our Pack's teacher doubled as the Chief Elder of the Pack and from his expression, I could sense a bit of furry, and it may amount to why I'd been running away from ascending the position of authority of the Light Steel Ocean Clan. “Jordan,” he beckoned as he directed my steps into the inner chambers. The inner chamber was only meant for the senior wolf, who had, in one dimension or the other, contributed immensely to the growth and unity of the Clan. It was vested with one purpose, to seal the secret of the Clan forever in its heart. I could barely catch my breath at the sight of the charts carefully displaced on the inner walls of the clan. “You've been chosen to control the affairs of the Clan, that's why you've been endowed with supernatural abilities to control water, create ice and call on thunder. Your strength is second to none, and you've been mandated with the task of reuniting the werewolf kingdom.” He looked directly into my eyes with feelings of concern. “But Sir, the Clan's head is still on the throne, I'm only Gamma's offspring. On what ground am I supposed to take up the leadership of the clan?" I inquired. “Don't worry, you're also endowed to see into the future, and you'll be shown before it happens. My role is to get you prepared ahead of time as your destiny is saddled with great responsibility. Remember that son and never give up on your pursuit for purpose.” He smirks and ushers me out. When I stepped out, Zane was already waiting for me at the courtyard, “You look saddened,” he mumbled. “Yea, I'm just faced with a lot to deal with at the moment, I mean, what does the future hold for us?” I poured out my concerns to Zane, who only tapped my back and cheered the moment. “Don't worry, time will reveal", he was about to complete his sentence when we were suddenly interrupted.
