"Can't Stay Away!"

If two people can’t stay away from each other maybe they aren’t meant to be apart…

~some hours later, lake~

Cleo’s pov

I feel him rubbing his nose on my cheek and I groan with complaint feeling this sweet warmth all over my body from his touch.

I feel hot although the temperature has fallen a lot because he is next to me and his soft fur is keeping me warm.

I open my eyes slowly and meet his sweet, full of love gaze. His eyes are shining and I lose my breath immediately.

Why do I feel this way with him?

Why can’t I imagine my life without meeting him again?

Why does my heart feel so differently with him?

Everything feels so right, he is a part of me already, he is necessary for me and Clea, he completes us somehow!

“I think this is a dream…” I whisper and he lets out a low, soft noise.

A sudden lightning strikes somewhere nearby, cuts the sky in two, the lake turns white for a second and the ground absorbs the lightning’s energy, the noise is echoing and our bodies are shaking instantly from the electricity but…

We are calm, both of us, with our eyes locked on each other’s.

A storm is coming, it’s almost here and I was expecting it but I don’t care anymore, I don’t want to go, I want to stay here with him.

He closes his eyes after some seconds when a strong wind makes its appearance and I sit up burying my face in his neck. I can’t smell him, I mean, he has his scent masked and I really want to see how he smells like but I love doing this. I feel safe in this way, too close to him and this is what matters.

I listen to his strong, slow heartbeat and my skis shudders even more. The gardenias’ scent fills my lungs because I am still holding them in my hands and I smile to myself ready to fall asleep again.

I don’t know how much time we are here like this but I don’t care, I need more! I had been sleeping, I have no idea how this happened, I thought I would be in tension but his presence, touch and noises are calming me down like nothing else!

Another lightning strikes again and this time feels to be much closer to us and he moves a bit nervously making me pull back to look at him sadly. He seems worried now and I sit up with concern. He turns his head to my pack’s direction and I immediately know what he means…

We have to leave, the storm is going to be strong and it’s not safe to stay here for longer. I have no problem to stay if you ask me, nor has Clea but if we stay then maybe Finn and the guards try to find me and I don’t want to put anyone in this situation…

“Can’t we stay here for a bit longer? I don’t want to go!” I say with a begging look and he slowly stands up and signs for me to do the same.

Shit!

This hurts so damn much!

“Fine but…” I start and stand up slowly with the wind getting stronger and my hair falling back with force while my dress is mimicking its movement.

I need to tell him how I feel, I want him to know because for me he is important! I don’t want to lose him but I need some more and he doesn’t look so willing for this.

“I… I want to tell you something before we… Anyway…” I continue nervously and he sits some inches away from me with a serious expression that takes my breath away.

I don’t know if he is getting mad or he knows what I want to talk to him about. Not being able to have a discussion with him is a torture!

“I don’t know why but I feel a connection with you and I am sure you also do because of your behavior. I have no clue as from where you know me or why you have been saving me but I am sure about how my heart feels for you! I miss you all the time, I am thinking of you constantly and I am hurt because I know nothing about you! I wish I could see your human or even talk to you cause you are way too important to me! I am never going to pressure you, I can’t do that because I don’t want to lose you but I want you to know that my heart hurts about it…” I say trying not to cry but with no success as my vision gets blurred from tears and I lower my head ashamed.

I look at my necklace and something inside me changes, it’s like something appears but I don’t know what! It’s a new feeling I can’t explain and…

“I am sorry… I won’t open this discussion again and…” I start but stop because he touches my necklace with his nose and my forehead touches his.

I close my eyes, exhale overwhelmed and raise my one hand and caress his neck slowly making him purr.

I am going to pass out, I swear, this is the most intense thing I have ever felt!

I feel his hot breath on my stern and the music from the music box in the necklace starts playing making me jump up. This has never happened, it’s…

Impossible!

I take one step back gasping for air and look at him in the eyes as the melody keeps on playing and I lose myself in his eyes again. Everything around us stops, the wind, the trees, the lake, the clouds, the birds…

How can this be possible? This feeling, this connection with him is getting stronger and this is scary yet breathtaking!

After some seconds the music stops and I come back to reality but…

His eyes are not bright silver anymore, there are… Black!

“Who are you?” I ask again trembling and he closes his eyes slowly and bows.

He is leaving… I get it, I won’t know more…

I take one step to him and when he lifts his head up and opens his eyes again they are still black. I smile emotionally and caress the top of his bead between his ears doing my best not to cry in front of him.

Maybe it is painful for him as well and I have already hurt him, I don’t need to do it again!

“Thank you for coming again and for the gardenias and the note. Thank you for everything! I will be waiting for you again, don’t leave me… I can’t stay away from you…” I whisper with a voice that breaks in the end and he licks my forehead purring.

He pulls back and steps backwards with his black eyes staring at me and when he is some meters away he turns around and starts running. He is heading to the woods and when he is ready to disappear he turns again and gives me one last look.

A loud lightning strikes again somewhere behind me and my body dodders for a second, my skin feels cold and my breaths get uncontrollable but I smile again and force myself to be patient and strong for a little longer.

He takes the decision to leave some time later and when he is nowhere to be seen I fall on my knees gasping for air and place my hands with the gardenias and the note above my heart.

I am getting crazy, there is no other explanation! I can’t take it, so many strong emotions is difficult for me to deal with! I mean, I am alone, he is not here, he is not revealing himself and I don’t know what to believe or think!

What could I suppose?

Why is he hesitating?

I stay like this for some time that feels like a century for me when I feel the first heavy raindrops on my bare skin and stiffen. I don’t move, I can’t and in a while they get so dense and strong that I get soaked till the bone, my dress sticks on my body and my legs get covered from mud. The gardenias’ scent is still strong although it is mixed with the rain and wet soil’s and I sigh heavily trembling with my eyes closed.

“Cleo… We have to go!” Clea whispers weakly not wanting to frustrate or overwhelm me even more and I nod timidly.

She is right…

I have to go before someone comes to find me. If Finn opens his mouth then I am lost! I don’t want anyone come here or understand a thing! I need to keep this place ‘safe’ for me and the wolf, they don’t have to know about it!

I get up unwillingly and walk to the wounds careful not to slip and fall. I get behind the first tree and leave the gardenias at the roots in order to get undressed. I take off the dress, it is difficult because it is wet but I make it and then I leave it on the roots, place the gardenias on it and shift as fast as I can.

My paw touch the ground, I lean and take the dress and my gardenias in my mouth and look around me although I know I am alone and the rain is so heavy that is not helping me see so clearly.

Damn this storm! It came the worst moment!

“Come on… We are going to see him again!” Clea says softly and I groan nervously.

“I hope you are right!” I reply and then turn and start running.

I can’t stay away from him anymore…

~some time later, pack house~

I get inside the house and look around me in hurry while taking long breaths to get sure there is no one here.

Good, they are all in their rooms so I can run upstairs and get in my room without anyone noticing me. The guards didn’t see me as well, I guess they have to be at the back side of the house and Finn was nowhere. The storm is worse than I had imagined and the closer I was getting here the more difficult it was for me to see so I am sure the guys at the forest have to be here. No one can attack us with this weather.

I close the door behind me and start running to the stairs with my shoes and the gardenias in my hands. I am sure I am leaving small lakes of water but I can do nothing about it now so I continue and soon I am running up the stairs in complete silence.

The house is really peaceful unlike the weather and after half a minute (I am running like someone is chasing me) I am at the top floor and turn to my room at the end of the corridor.

I get in breathless and close the door after I get sure that no one has seen me and then lock it. I sigh relieved and when my heartbeat turns calmer I go to my bathroom, open the lights and leave my shoes fall in the floor. I also leave the gardenias at the washbasins’ counter and open the small card. Relieved, I see that the letters are still visible because I had been trying to protect the card from getting wet and then I take off my dress, throw it in the one washbasin and turn ready to take a hot bath but I listen to my phone and stiffen surprised yet confused.

It’s too late, what the hell?

I run back to the room and I take my phone from the bedside table. I quickly unlock it and find three texts from Kevin, weird!

I open them without losing time and read them…

Message number one: ‘Babe, how are you doing? Bree told me you don’t know if you can make it and come to her ceremony in some days from now! Come on, you can’t miss it!’

Message number two (after some minutes): ‘Hey, are you sleeping? I really want you to come!’

Message number three (half an hour later): ‘Cleo, I am worried here and I need you to answer to me the sooner! I have a small surprise for you, tomorrow I am coming to see you, get ready because we are going to have dinner just the two of us!’

What the hell?

Oh, yeah! Max had told me at my ceremony but I had forgotten about it completely with what Thor did that night and now…

Kevin is…

COMING!

~some hours later, morning~

I am taking the last sip of my coffee and leave the cup on the table.

Fortunately no one understood a thing but if my suspicions are right Finn knows something because he lied to cover me…

Cassidy asked who could get in the pack house leaving lakes of water in the main corridor and he said that it was him because he got in the house soaked after he had gone to check on the guards. I didn’t even have time to think when he spoke up saying that it was him and I almost coughed from surprise.

If he knows something, if he saw me or anything then… He has probably smelled the gardenias and I am f****d! The last thing I want is him understanding something!

So as you understand I kept my mouth shut and I rushed to inform them about Kevin! My mom got excited, my dad turned red like Thor (yes, the jackass decided to get jealous again and Lillian was present this time) and all the others except from Elliot got enthusiastic for obvious reasons.

“Oh, Cleo, the house is going to be ready today! Tomorrow we can go all together if you want!” Adelaine says when we are all done from breakfast and I come back to reality smiling amused.

Okay, this is what I needed to hear!

“Really?” I ask excited and she nods quickly with William smirking.

“I need a party there, the five of us!” he says and Gabriel raises his hand and then points Adel’s belly.

“Six! Add your godson!” he states and Cassidy with Richard laugh.

“So Ava became part of your team I see… Good for you!” my mom commends really happy for Ava because she really loves her and Elliot faints stiffening.

“I am done! I have too much work to do!” Thor announces through his teeth with a dark expression and Lillian stands up as well (she is sitting next to him, you know where…) and I clear my throat in hurry making him freeze and snap his head to me.

At least he knows I did it to gain his interest! I had to do it in front of the others because in this way he won’t deny to talk to me. I have to tell him that I need to get out tonight! I know he is annoyed and I have to inform him before he decides to ruin everything the last minute!

“Could we talk for a second?” I ask casually and he nods shortly while narrowing his eyes in understanding.

Okay, pray for us because I have a feeling we are going to end up killing each other.

“Baby, I need us to talk as well!” Lillian exclaims in a high, really frustrating tone and Clea growls in my mind but surprisingly Thor gives her a warning and look she blinks her eyes shocked.

“Later, I have work and Cleo wants us to talk!” he states firmly and turns again to me signing to follow him.

Oh my God!

“Come Cleo!” he says, turns and walks out with me following him in hurry after I smile to the guys, my parents and Thor’s.

We go upstairs again and head to his office. Alright, I hate it already but what can I do?

Kevin had to tell me about his arrival last moment and this leaves me no other choice.

We reach at his office’s door and he opens it signing for me to get in first. He is a gentleman most of the times I have to admit it and I do as he wants. He follows me quickly, closes the door and we take our seats in silence. He sits behind his desk and I take the one of the two seats there are in front of it.

He clears his throat with a cold quite confusing expression and I get ready to talk but he groans frustrated and I freeze. It’s like he just remembered of something and I have a feeling I won’t like it at all! He is an open book sometimes, it’s not so difficult for me to read his intentions and right now I am sure he is getting angry.

“Why do you smell like gardenias? We don’t have here… Where did you find them?” he asks breathless through his teeth and I put great efforts to hide my nervousness and find a good lie the sooner.

You see, I slept with the gardenias next to me and this is why I smell like them as well! I hadn’t thought of it but their scent helped me relax and eased my pain for not knowing who the white wolf is. I put them in a glass of water I had in my room and placed it on my bedside table so the first and last thing I see when I fall asleep and wake up is them…

“A perfume I have from New York!” I say quickly and he leans forward, places his hands on the desk not really convinced and sighs harshly.

SHIT!

“Anyway… Not that I believe it but… The hell!” he mutters and in the end almost shouts slamming his palms on the desk making it move slightly towards me.

Great! He knows I am lying and this is going to cost me! Just wait and see…

“Say it before I lose my patience! What do you want?” he asks with his eyes almost black and locks them on me.

Fuck my life, my skin is shuddering , my blood is freezing and I think I am going to start sweating! 

He is the old Thor he was about one week ago and this is the worst case scenario that could happen!

Do you believe that last night he was f*****g his b***h and now he is jealous and mad at me for the scent of some gardenias?

And now I am getting angry because he has no damn right to feel this way! Alright, I was worried some seconds ago and I am probably getting crazy but how can I not when he is acting like an insane, stupid, selfish pig that wants everything to happen according to his damn wills?!

He was f*****g her but he wants me as well and I have to stay away from other males?!

FUCK YOU THOR PIG!

“I am waiting Cleo!” he says running out of patience and I sigh nodding quickly gaining my mind again.

Fine, he asked for it!

“I told you a while about Kevin coming to see me today…” I start and before I say more he raises his hand for me to stop.

Huh?

“He is not coming here, I don’t accept him! End of discussion!” he announces and points for me the door to leave.

Excuse me?

He is…

ASSHOLE!

“I don’t want him to come here either, I just want to ask your permission to leave for some hours tonight!” I say quickly ignoring the fact that he wants me to leave and he growls standing up slowly the very next second.

What did he think?

That I am going to be scared and I won’t ask him? I am sure he was expecting it anyway but he was trying to avoid it!

Take it Thor!

“I am afraid you can’t go anywhere because I want you to check the lists of the costs for everything for the last five years! I need you to make sure your dad has done no mistake that my dad and I didn’t notice! It is going to take you too many hours and I need it the sooner so… If you can have it ready and give it to me by tonight you are free from me…” he says smirking wickedly and I stand up like a flash ready to start screaming.

This is… GOD!

He is doing it on purpose! He doesn’t want me to go, he doesn’t want to tell me ‘no’ and he found another way to keep me here and make me cancel my dinner with Kevin!

And he is clever because there is no f*****g way I am done by tonight!

The lists of the costs have to do with everything! Food, supplies, equipment, anything someone can imagine and the codes of the products are uncountable!

“You are free to go Cleo! I am waiting for the lists and the confirmation that everything is fine the sooner!” he says while sitting down again and I groan, curse from inside me and storm out of his office like a flash or else I am going to kill him.

So much work and I am going to die!

Just f*****g perfect!

~some hours later, early at afternoon~

I keep on reading and reading and I am losing my hopes and my patience.

I didn’t have lunch, I haven’t gotten out of my office for any reason, I am talking to no one and fortunately Ava is bringing me food, water and coffee all the time. She is really helping me and I couldn’t have been more grateful for having her.

I have checked the first two years, I am in the middle of the third and there is no way I am going to make it so I think I have to call Kevin and tell him to cancel it for tonight!

I still can’t believe what an asshole Thor can be!

What does he care?

Why is he torturing me like this?

I am going to kill him and scatter his pieces in the territory just like Bree had told me!

I take a deep breath, rub my eyes that feel like burning and turn the page. I start reading again but a knock at the door makes me curse and I run my hands through my hair in frustration.

“Come in!” I yell falling back on my chair and the door opens immediately.

Adelaine, Gabriel, William and Ava get in without losing time with sympathetic smiles on their faces and I understand that Ava told them what happened with Thor. I haven’t told her about us being mates but it’s obvious we don’t like each other and I explained to her what happened this morning in his office.

“I am going to kill him!” I state seriously and Ava closes the door giggling.

“We are sorry for being late but we wanted to finish everything in order to come and help you!” William states and I blink my eyes surprised not believing my ears.

“And then we can kill Thor!” Gabriel adds and Adelaine laughs.

“But after we make sure you are hot for tonight!” Ava says next and they all shake their heads in agreement.

“I don’t get a thing!” is my only response and Will rolls his eyes.

“We came to help you! You are having dinner with Kevin tonight and the lists are going to be ready because we are helping you!” he explains and walks to me smiling brightly.

“REALLY?” I exclaim excited and Adel nods.

“Of course silly! We had our plan, just don’t tell Thor!” she says as she takes her seat opposite of me with Ava on her side and Gabriel joins Will.

“We are taking the fourth year, the girls the fifth and you can do the rest of the third one!” Will says and I nods dizzy with a silly smile on my face.

They are my secret angels, really! So I am having the work done and I am going for dinner with Kevin!

YES!

We get into work immediately and the hours pass very quickly. I don’t understand when I am done and before I look at the time Ava is standing up and Adelaine leaves the papers on the desk smirking pleased.

“Alright baby, we have one hour to get you ready and the boys are almost done from what I can see! I will help them and Ava can come and help you!” Adel says looking at the clock at the library behind me and the boys lift their heads up and nod in union.

“Yes, yes! Go! We have less than five pages!” Gabriel mutters in hurry and I shake my head in agreement.

“Tomorrow I owe you a big party! You are the best!” I say touched and William smiles in enthusiasm

“f*****g YEAH! Now go!” he yells pointing the door and I leave with Ava laughing.

We go to my room together and she tells me to go and take a bath. I ask from her to choose something for me and she agrees without second thought so I go to the bathroom and she goes to my closet room.

It takes me about ten minutes to take my bath and brush my hair but I don’t dry it because she wants to help me with it and I go to my closet room as well to find her holding the dress I am going to wear for tonight.

“So?” she asks me in agony and I smile at her warmly.

“Ava… You are the best!” I state and she laughs.

~less than an hour later~

Third person’s pov

Gabriel, William and Adelaine got in the dining room laughing and teasing each other.

They were all there waiting for them, Thor with Lillian, Finn with Elliot, Cassidy with Richard and Etan with Adira. It was time for dinner and they were just in time. Some time ago they had gone to Cleo’s room to give her the lists and see if she was ready.

And yes, Ava had done a great job and Cleo was gorgeous and very pleased with the turn things had taken. Thor had already lost and she had done everything he had asked from her but she wasn’t losing her dinner with Kevin and Thor was going to be very disappointed.

“Where were you all these hours?” Cassidy asked them with complaint once they sat and William smirked casually.

“Gossiping… You know us, we are never going to tell you everything!” he replied making his mother groan and Richard laughed.

“And Cleo?” Adira asked worried and Thor bitted his lower lip victoriously knowing the reason she was not there unaware of what was going to happen some seconds later.

He had won, she wasn’t going to meet Kevin and he was feeling proud of himself! He had been having a very hard time all those days away from her and the previous night he wanted to make her lose her mind and show her what she was missing. Her cold, distant behavior was hurting him and he wanted to give her a lesson. He couldn’t stay away from her, he had told her he wanted her but she didn’t seem to care so he had decided to use another method to get closer to her.

He wanted to hurt her just like she had been hurting him!

“We don’t know what she is doing now!” Gabriel lied with a very convincing expression and Adira stiffen nervously.

She knew something was wrong and she wanted to go upstairs but Thor dragged her away from her thoughts.

“Where is she?” he asked acting like he didn’t know and it was true because…

“Here!” she said from the door and they all snapped their heads to her, some shocked and some amused.

She was standing there with a big, confident smile on her face! She was dressed in a black, narrow dress with long sleeves that was reaching her knees with a long cut on her left leg, her shoes were black high heels, her hair was up on a messy elegant bun and her makeup was quite simple yet classy with black mascara and eyeliner, rose rouge and matte dark red lipstick. She had a small sparkling purse in silver color in her left hand with also a black formal jacket and on her neck she had her necklace with a pair of discreet earrings.

Hers and Thor’s parents were smiling proud of her, her friends and Finn wee smirking satisfied because Finn had also understood what was happening and Elliot was staring at Cleo with an open mouth.

As for Lillian, she was fuming from jealously while observing Cleo walking slowly to them with a powerful aura and a mesmerizing smile and Thor…

He had lost the ground under his feet not only because she was going to leave and she had the lists in her right hand but also because she was gorgeous and he was dying to touch her and he could. His eyes were burning her skin with some pauses on her curves and bare, tall legs and her scent made him dizzy as she stopped next to him and handed him the lists with a big, challenging look.

“The lists are done Alpha and now excuse me but I have to go! They are waiting for me…” she said innocently and he blinked his eyes coming back to reality.

His eyes fell on the papers and held back a loud growl. His anger made its appearance again and the despair began building up realizing that she had won in a way he couldn’t understand and she was going to meet another man.

And she was so damn beautiful that he was doing his best to prevent himself from tearing down the entire pack house and then getting locked with her in a room to stay alone!

Cleo was staring at him with a proud, full of meaning look and she loved his shocked expression. His reaction was entertaining her and she hadn’t thrown her last leaf yet…

“You are a dream sweetheart, lucky Kevin!” Cassidy said with a meaningful smirk and Cleo blushed.

“Oh yeah, definitely!” Finn spoke up surprising everyone and Adira tapped Etan’s arm and stood up.

“I think your daughter has taken your tastes…” she murmured and Etan shook his head worried.

Accepting someone next to his daughter was his biggest and worst nightmare! She was his entire world and Kevin seemed to be very close to her, he was sure they had a feeling for each other and it wasn’t just a friendship! He didn’t want to lose her and go away…

“You are beautiful baby! Give my greeting to Kevin and some kisses!” Adira said and kissed Cleo that nodded quickly.

“Um… When are you going to be back?” Etan asked her nervously and she turned to him raising her eyebrows.

The bomb was going to explode…

“I don’t know yet, don’t wait for me!” she said cheerfully and smiled to everyone.

“Have fun baby! Don’t worry!” William said and closed his eye wickedly.

“Thank you, good night everyone!” Cleo said and turned her back to make Etan growl shocked and Thor stand up breathless.

“Your back is fully exposed Cleo! For Luna’s sake! You are going to catch a cold!” Etan exclaimed gasping and they all began laughing, all except from Thor that tried to prevent his eyes from turning black from rage.

“I know that dad, this is why I wore it! And I am sure you know I can’t catch a cold, in fact I am hot!” she said with a powerful aura and gave him a devilish smile.

And with that she turned and walked out of the room leaving everyone staring at her smooth, pale, tempting back.

That was the last hit of hers to Thor and even Lillian because no one could mess with her like them, she was never going to accept it. She had a too wild heart that couldn’t be tamed with that nonsense.

Thor observed her leaving and his wolf began screaming and howling in his mind asking for his mate in desperation. He felt like an i***t, like he was her toy and she could do anything she wanted to him and he wasn’t going to accept it again…

If Cleo wanted to play then he would join her games but under his terms!

She was going to regret, she was going to beg him, she was going to become his after he would break her enough…

He would break her wild spirit just like the glass in his hands that broke from his tight hold and cut him deeply with his blood falling on the floor. He could feel no pain although because the pain of Cleo’s attitude was already too much for him, he didn’t have the mind to think of his cut palm…

Yes, that was it…

Cleo was going to bleed for him too soon!

~some time later, somewhere too far away~

Austin’s pov

I keep on observing him drinking his drink is silence and I don’t dare speaking or moving… I have never seen him like this before… He is so worried, frustrated, overwhelmed, desperate, scared and emotional that this is getting the s**t out of me!

It’s the first time he is so ‘weak’ or to say it better he shows that he has a weak side and I am surprised although he is my best friend, my brother and I know him better than anyone else.

All these hours he is locked in here drinking, he hasn’t said a word and I don’t know how to behave. I want to ask him about her but… What if he is not ready?

He is not used to talk about his feeling, in his entire life he has been always being a very serious, strong and self collected man! He is the strongest person I know and what he has been doing and passing through all these years is the proof!

He loves her, he really does and he is suffering but tonight…

Tonight he is dying, he just can’t take it anymore and I don’t think I understand him anymore because he is much more scared than I am although she is my sister!

If she doesn’t come here soon I think we are going to get crazy, so much patience has the exact opposite effects after so many years! He, my mom, my grandpa, I and the rest of the family and even the pack miss her and want her here, where she belongs!

I stiffen ready to try to talk to him although his expression is not very helpful but our phones ring at the same time from a message and I instantly know who it is!

“Kevin!” he murmurs and leaves his drink while taking his phone in his hands.

He opens it quickly and I hold my breath waiting for him to read it out loud.

“I just met her! She is fine, I am going to tell you details tomorrow!” he reads and I sigh relieved.

“Thanks Goddess!” I whisper and he gives me a quick nervous look that makes the blood in my veins freeze.

Nope, this is not good!

“Alex… Calm down! Tonight she is safe and if Kevin convinces her, she will leave and they are never going to touch her again!” I say feeling a strong pain in my chest and he sighs heavily.

“I don’t know brother… I am dying in agony! I won’t calm down until she comes here!” he replies and drinks again one big sip.

“Do you want to tell me what happened last night? Maybe I can help and you feel better…” I murmur timidly but someone knocks the door, we jump up together and my mother’s scent starts filling the room.

I turn to him again and he bites his lower lip nervously, he loves her very much, she is like an aunt for him and he is one of her weaknesses, especially now that…

The door opens without our permission and she gets in dressed in a long, black robe, with her big, dark green eyes red, puffy and wet and her long, bronze hair messy. She is shaking, her pale skin is even paler but her cheeks are red.

She had a nightmare again and she had been crying, her broken expression is making my heart break into sharp pieces!

“Mom, are you alright? What is it?” I ask in sympathy and walk to her in hurry.

“Where is she?” she asks breathless trembling even more and I hug her with Alex coming to us.

“She is fine mom and…”

“This doesn’t answer my question Austin! Where is my daughter? I want her here, I can’t wait any longer!” she cries out and some tears fall from her eyes.

I tighten my hold around her unable to talk and look at Alex asking for some help but he seems to be in a worse state of mind than me. My mom pushes me back after a while and turns to him, raises her shaking hands with difficulty and caps his face with his eyes locked on his. He tries to avoid it, it is painful for him but she is holding him steadily…

“Alexander… I need her here baby! Please, bring her home, I am begging you, I have a bad feeling, I can’t do it anymore! That monster is raising her but he is sick! She is in danger and…” she screams unable to stay calm for more and almost collapses but I hold her in time.

“Maya, I promise you, she is going to be here soon! I want her here as much as you do, you know it!” he says panicked while gasping and she falls in his embrace crying loudly.

He can’t see her in this condition, I know because he has told me! He is sensitive although he behaves like he is not! He can’t take it when she is on the edges of having a panic attack like now and I understand him, I can’t take it either but I am her son and I can help her somehow, I have to, it’s my duty!

“PLEASE! BRING ME MY DAUGHTER! I HAVE A BAD FEELING! IF I LOSE HER, I’LL DIE!” she cries and he kisses her forehead in despair.

“He is a sick killer! He could kill her!” she screams still in his arms and he lifts his head up trying to breathe with me feeling ready to vomit.

No, not again, I…

“Maya… Calm down, come here!” Melody, Alex’s mom exclaims worried and runs in the office in acknowledge.

I am sure she went to check on her and she didn’t find her there! She knows my mom, they are like sisters and she has been standing on her side for 19 years now, after what happened to the three of them…

I mean my mom, my dad and… My sister!

“I need her Melody! She is in danger!” my mom says again and turns to her devastated with Alex and me taking one step back trembling.

“Alright honey, now come, you need to rest!” She says gently as she leads her out and gives us a worried, heartbroken smile that makes my heart ache.

I close the door slowly after they are away and turn to Alex that runs his hands through his hair in frustration.

Damn, now I have to calm him down as well!

“Bro… I can’t see you like this, calm down and… At least you saw her! What can I say, huh?” I ask timidly and he shakes his head, walks to the couch and sits down with power.

“I can’t calm down anymore Austin! I just can’t!” he says ready to break into sobbing for the very first time and I stiffen without really thinking my next question.

“Why? What changed now?”

He lifts up his head, his watery, dark grey eyes meet mine and my heart stops beating.

He is in pain!

“Why Alexander?” I ask again in agony and he falls back on her cough with his eyes closed.

“I can’t stay away from her anymore and so does she!”

“How do you know?”

“She told me last night…”

This is the 10th chapter and it’s too long with lots of new revealings although Cleo didn’t meet the white wolf’s human but we just did!
