Cleo's Heart Decisions.

Introduction.

"Who says that feelings don't come true?"

Cleo's pov

"Baby!" she screams already crying and I spot them about twenty meters away.

"Mom, dad!" I shout and 'run' to them in any way I can as the airport is extremely crowded and I have to change direction lots of times in order not to fall on someone.

I can't believe I am back after two years!

Thanks God!

I was talking to them, I saw them for once about one year ago when they paid me a visit, we were watching each other through Skype but it's not enough and I couldn't stay away from them for any longer!

"Oh, my sweet baby!" my mom yells again as I am about less than two meters away from them and I leave my luggage down in excitement.

"Princess!" my dad exclaims and opens his arms for me smiling enthusiastic.

I don't lose time and jump in his embrace laughing and crying at the same time! He wraps his arms around me, my mom tries to hug both of us and they start kissing me lots of times constantly.

I think my heart is going to explode, it's like I am flying from happiness that I saw them again!

"How are you sweetheart?" my dad asks in hurry and starts a new round of kissing that makes me giggle.

"I am great now, I missed you very much!"

"How was your flight? Was it comfortable, peaceful?" he continues and I laugh rolling my eyes.

Overprotecting as always! Yeap, this is my dad as I am an only daughter and his biggest weakness. I am his princess and every wish of mine is a command for him, one tear from me and he gets crazy, one smile and he melts! Our relationship is perfect even if I am getting mad at him sometimes, I don't like his exaggeration because it is tiring. I understand it at some grade, I am the only child they have, I am a girl which means that we have a special bond and I know that he wants the best for me but I am not a child anymore, I am a woman.

It has been about two weeks since I turned 19 and I am strong, I don't need protection, I lived two whole years away from them and I can do everything on my own now so there is no need for him to continue being so overdramatic.

"Dad it was fine, it was only three hours after all!" I murmur and he nods pulling a bit back with my mom taking his place.

"Let me see my baby girl! Oh, you are taller and look at you! You are such a gorgeous young lady!" she says emotional and pulls me in an extremely tight hug before I react.

Shit!

My mum had been always giving me a hard time with her hugs but this hasn't change even now as I see and this is... I don't know how to describe it, I mean I thought that now that I am 19 and I have my wolf I wouldn't have problem with such strength but apparently I was wrong!

My mother is not so exaggerated but don't you dare think that she doesn't have any defect! She is way too strict and when I was a child she was forcing me into anything she wanted. What I am trying to say is that I was doing everything in the way she wanted from the slightest to the most serious thing you can imagine.

Alright, she is my mom, she wants to help me become the best I can and she is proud of me but her persistence was frustrating for me and there were lots of times during my puberty that I was speaking out of the pack house to run in the forest and calm down spending some time on my own!

If you put aside this little problem I had with her our relationship is ideal and we talk about everything, she is like my best friend and I like spending time with her, she is my female idol after all and I admire her!

"Mom, I haven't changed a lot since the last time you saw me! My hair is longer and..." I start but she tightens her hold even more on purpose and I stop.

Oh my Goddess!

I had no idea that she could tighten it more!

"Mom... You'll... Break... M... Bones!" I say breathless and she laughs freeing me.

I take a deep breath relieved and I try my move my hands as everything feels sore and she smirks teasingly. My dad closes his eye with meaning to me and I can do nothing else than smile.

Alright, I had somehow missed these things!

"And now let me see you... Mmm... I think you look better than ever Betas!" I murmur smirking and they chuckle.

I have to admit that my parents look quite younger than their real ages.

My dad, Etan is 47 years old, too tall with an amazingly strong and massive body, dark brown hair with some discreet white hairs, big, dark blue expressive eyes, full lips, harmonic face features and bears of three days. His scent is breathtaking and very relaxing, it's a mix or wet soil and rain and it has been always driving me crazy!

My mom from the other side is Adira! She is 45 years old but she could easily be called a 35 years old woman. She has beautiful long dirty blonde hair and her face is angelic with light honey eyes, pink small lips and smooth shining pale skin. Her height if normal for a woman and her curves are ideal for it and she smells like the dark chocolate, I know this is yummy!

To be honest I and my mom have nothing in common, well our skin's tone is the same and I have taken her body but everything else is from my father's side and most specifically from his mother. My hair for example is long the last one year, it has a rare, sweet bronze color and my face looks like hers as they have told me. From my dad I took the full lips and the eyes as for the color and the shape!

"And where are your grades my precious young Beta?" my mom asks after a while as my dad walks to my luggage and I turn and run to it where I have my bag left on.

"Um... Let me see..." I murmur and after I open it I take the black leather envelope and hand it to her with a victorious expression.

She takes it in her hands and we start walking to the closest exit in order to go to our car and of course my mom can't wait and opens the envelope too drown to it. I join my father's side that is in the front showing the way and after some seconds we are getting out to the chaotic parking lot.

"I hope the car is close..." I whisper to my dad and he nods with meaning.

Oh, my savior! He knows that so crowded places are getting on my nerves and don't get me wrong I mean so noisy places, I had no problems at the college or at our pack!

We turn to our left after the exit and after some steps I think I distinguish it at the second line and in the next ten meters I get sure that it's really our car. It is not discreet anyway, it's a monster if you may ask me! Come on, how else could a massive black SUV be described with only one word?

I walk to the car with my dad and my mom stays quite behind with her eyes locked on the papers and I roll my eyes in annoyance when we reach the car and my dad puts my luggage in the car trunk.

"I can't believe her dad! Couldn't she wait for a minute?" I ask opening the back door and he laughs while taking the driver's seat after some seconds.

"You know your mother! She is always very typical yet appropriate, she has high expectations from you baby!" he replies and turns to me smiling brightly.

I move closer to him and kiss his cheek making him purr and when I pull back he clears his throat in a way that helps me understand that he wants to tell me something important. I know my dad better than anyone else, we can read each other from our expressions and from his look I am sure that whatever it is it's pleasing!

"Yes?" I ask raising my eyebrows and he opens his mouth to speak but my mom opens the passenger's door and jumps in like a flash.

She is speechless and I am happy for it!

I worked like crazy to have these grades, my ass was on fire for two f*****g years!

"So?" my dad asks her turning on the car and she raises her hand showing him the general marking.

"A?! In everything? Are you kidding me?" he exclaims and I laugh watching their funny expressions.

I knew it!

"Cleo Taylors I have nothing else to say except from congratulations for killing them all! You are a f*****g genius!" my mother screams overwhelmed and I open my eyes widely shocked.

"MOM! Did you just said 'f*****g'?" I ask still surprised and she blushes awkwardly.

She never talks like that! What is happening to her?

"I am so proud and excited for you honey! Well done Cleo!" she says and takes my hand in hers to give it a squeeze.

"See? I wasn't for clubbing all the time!" I say playfully and she chuckles.

I knew that she would say all these and she would get emotional because this is what she always wanted, nothing less than the perfection but anyway...

"And now I think that we can tell her about our surprises..." my dad states while he starts driving and I lean forward in enthusiasm.

"What?"

"Yes, your dad is right... So... What would you say about this?" she asks and takes a pair of keys from her pocket.

"Your car princess! It is already waiting for you!" my dad says and I take the keys in my hands breathless.

"A Mercedes? Like really?" I scream ecstatic unable to believe it and they nod.

Fuck my life!

"Thank you so much! I wasn't expecting it!" I murmur still amused and they laugh.

"And what about the other two keys?" I ask after some seconds confused and my mom turns to me smirking as we are getting out of the parking lot and take our way back to the pack.

"We thought that you are a grown up young lady and you need your personal space, we won't break into it whenever we want... The first key is your new room's, we decided to change it completely and we followed your preferences, we hope you like it!" she explains and I blink my eyes.

YES! YES! YES!

But...

"What is the other key for?" I ask in hurry and she forces a nervous smile.

Huh?

"Your grandma, Stella left you her house deep inside the forest at the edges of our territory! The house is a mess, some rogues opened it about one year ago but she told me to give it to you when you turn 18 in any case... You can do whatever you want with it, if you want to forget about it then it would be even better!" she replies and I shake my head in frustration touched.

Grandma Stella was my mother's mom but they didn't have very good relationships, my mom was bearably talking to her and I could see her only with my parents' presence. You see, she was living alone in her house away from the others because after my grandpa's death she needed isolation, this is how much she was suffering. I guess this is why my mom was always distant, because she was in pain and my grandma wasn't next to her when she needed her.

But...

I loved my grandma, I still do! She was very sweet and full of love for me! When we lost her about five years ago I was a mess and it took me one month to get out of my room and things got worse when my best friend till then, Thor stopped talking to me for no reason.

Thor is the Alpha of our pack and 22 years old. I have about five years to see him as some weeks after my grandma's death he left to a private college and when he returned I was already in mine!

"Are you ready to take your place as the Beta of the Diamond Heart Pack princess?" my dad asks me brining me back to reality and I snap my head to him not really ready to talk.

Thor's disappearance from my life was a huge wound for me and now I will have to be his Beta and be around him almost all the time.

"Of course she is ready with these grades! She is going to make an amazing Beta in our place and if she needs any help we are here to help her!" my mom states and gives me a big smile.

"I know... She is our daughter, she can do anything she gets in mind and she is smart and strong! The pack is looking forward to see you again and Thor will be waiting for you in his office to talk once we arrive! He is going to see your graves probably and ask you some more details. The ceremony is going to take place in less than a week from now!" my dad says next and I raise my eyebrows worried.

Fucking awesome!

"We are going to be perfect! Don't worry about a thing!" Clea, my wolf states out of nowhere and I smile relieved.

This wolf of mine is something! She is always calm, self-collected, strong, supportive and knows what to say in order to make me feel better! You have to see her, she is magnificent with a soft, shining black fur, enormous paws, a great shaped body and dark blue eyes like mine! She is quite big as we have pure Beta's blood and she is very strong and fast! We were in the three top fighters at the college and my trainers talked to the King about us as we could take a place in his permanent army one day if we want to!

We also met him in person about one month ago, he came to supervise the college and my teachers as one of the best students introduced me to him and to be honest we had a pretty interesting conversation! We liked each other and he told me that if I ever need something the only thing I have to do is call him and he will do anything he can to help me. According to him I am a very promising fighter and he wants the best for me!

"I am nervous about meeting Thor again... The way he left from my life hurt a lot!" I tell her sighing and she nods in understanding.

"I know but what if he has changed his mind now? We will be his Beta anyway, he can't do otherwise..." she replies and I bite my lower lip thoughtfully.

We'll see!

"What are you thinking of Cleo? What is wrong?" my mom asks observing me from the mirror and I stiffen forcing a smile.

I never told them about Thor, I didn't want them to know and start talking about it all the time giving me advices and there is no way I am telling them now that I am going to become his Beta. I want myself free from their preaching.

"Nothing, I just missed the guys, you know, Adelaine, Gabriel and William!" I lie and she smiles in sympathy.

"It's logical sweetie but you will see them soon!" she says and I nod shortly.

At least I am going to have them...

~about an hour later, Diamond Heart Pack~

My dad stops the car some meters away from the pack house's main entrance and I smile ready to cry.

My friends and previous Alphas with some omegas are already here waiting for me but Thor is nowhere to me found.

My mom opens her door and gets out and then opens my door while my dad is going to park the car at the parking lot at the back side of the house.

I take one deep breath and get out with slow moves making sure that I look well.

I decided to wear a midi, narrow simple grey dress, a leather jacket and a pair of flat, short black boots with my long hair down in light waves and a simple makeup. I didn't want to be very well dressed or very simple but right now I am not sure if I made it, maybe my choices are wrong! See, I was always a tomboy because most of my friends here were boys and things changed when I went to college and met my other two roommates with whom I became best friends and helped me improve myself in lots of levels considering my appearance. This is why sometimes I am not sure if I am wearing the right clothes for the occasion.

Anyway!

"You came, finally!" Adelaine screams excited and runs to me with William and Gabriel behind her.

"I missed you!" I yell and open my arms while my mom takes some steps back giving us space or better saving herself from our wild, crazy hugs.

Adelaine pulls me in her arms first and she starts screaming and laughing next my ear but I was prepared for a behavior like this and I break into laughter as well. William and Gabriel come to us some seconds later and join our hug impatient as always for their turn and with the corner of my eye I see my mom wiping some tears from her eyes.

"I can't believe you are back Beta! It was about time!" Gabriel says and pulls back with William leaving me still hugged with Adelaine that...

Hey, something feels weird, what the...

"Are you pregnant?" I yell breaking our hug and she laughs nodding.

What the hell?!

"I am about two and half months and it is going to be a boy!" she says and I nod a bit dizzy.

"I guess you didn't lose time and decided to make my best friend a mother at her 21!" I tell Gabriel teasingly and he raises his hands 'innocently'.

I am happy for them and if you haven't understand it yet Adelaine and Gabriel are mates and the pack's Gammas! Adelaine is my best and only friend from the girls from when I remember myself and she is 21 years old with black soft hair that stops a bit after her shoulder, a sweet skin's color, a very expressive face and light brown eyes. Gabriel from the other side was always like an older brother for me as he is 22 years old, he is a cool person I admire very much and he has a strong built body with chocolate brown hair and dark grey eyes. They are an amazing couple and they love each other very much! I think it was a bit soon for them to have a baby but I understand and I am happy for them!

"Guess who is going to be the godfather of the little Gamma!" William says with pride pointing his own self and I chuckle hugging him.

What can I say about this crazy, sweet boy? He is my other half as for the behavior and the personality and I always trusted him because I knew he would keep my secrets! William is the second and last son of our Alphas, he is Thor's younger brother and only 20 years old. He looks like Thor to be honest, he has dirty blonde hair but his eyes are black and he is shorter than Thor that is quite taller from what I can remember with light brown eyes.

"I am sure that you will be the best godfather ever!" I whisper truthfully and he nods as Luna Cassidy, Alpha Richard and Finn approach us.

"Look what a beautiful young woman you have become Cleo dear!" Luna exclaims and I break my hug with William to greet her.

"Thank you very much Luna! How are you?" I ask and she kisses me softly.

"I am just saying the truth baby! I am great, we missed you and we are excited about you!" she replies and I smile warmly.

I like her very much because she is always very kind and generous. She treats all of us equally and like we are her own kids! She is like Thor, I mean her hair and eyes' color and her face somehow is familiar with his.

"And it's my turn young Beta! Your father had been telling me about your progress, I was sure that you would be one of the best!" Alpha Richard speaks up and hugs me.

"Thank you Alpha! You look refreshed!" I say and he laughs shaking his head in agreement.

"Retirement is a good thing in my age Cleo! You will understand it better now that your dad will join me." He replies and I nod when Finn clears his throat discreetly and I turn to him.

NO!

It wasn't necessary to be here to 'greet' me but I am sure he was forced as he is the Delta and I am going to work and arrange lots of things with him from now on.

And before you ask me why I am not excited or even interested about greeting or talking to him let me tell you that Finn never liked me, well, the best way to present our 'relationship' is to say that he hated me for no reason and the same thing had been happening for his brother, Elliot!

These two were always Thor's best friends and they never really wanted Adelaine, Gabriel, me and William but Will is the second Alpha and they had no choice than treating him with respect and even though Gabriel is 22 like Elliot and Thor is not so close to them because he has a great sense of justice and went against them taking our side.

Now I should describe the i***t so let me be quick, I don't want to lose my time for him in any case! Finn is not very tall or exercised because he was always bored of training (this is going to change from now with me as his Beta) and he has light brown hair and dark green eyes (the only special thing on him). Elliot, his brother is just like him except from the eyes that are dark brown.

"Welcome back Cleo! I wish you the best of luck!" he says raises his hand to me and I give him a fake forced smile not really willingly.

I take his hand and shake it typically and it's then when my dad approaches us and wraps one arm around my mom.

"Did you tell her about the other fantastic news?" he asks and they all shake their heads negatively making me narrow my eyes confused.

"What is it? About the baby?" I ask but Luna Cassidy signs again no.

"Thor found his mate and in some days or weeks he is going to make her his Luna!" she says and I freeze for a while surprised.

Well, I suppose this is... Cool!

The pack will have a Luna again because Luna Cassidy was helping as the pack didn't have one after she and Alpha Richard passed the title to Thor.

I know that I should be happy about it but I am not so excited and I don't know why! Something feels weird but it's probably because of what I told you before.

"Great! I am happy for him and the pack! And who is she? Do I know her?" I ask quickly not wanting to make anyone understand a thing.

"Yeah, it's Lillian!" Finn says smirking wickedly to me and I hold back a growl full of anger and disappointment.

I mean he is an i***t for sure and I was certain that he would approve her as she was always in his group and also Lillian is how can I say it decorously...

Forget it, I can't find a kind word for her!

She was always the biggest b***h and greatest slut of the pack!

And now she is going to be my Luna? What have we done to deserve such a shame?!

"Cleo, Thor is asking for you! He said to go and meet him immediately once you arrive. It won't take you long, just take your grades with you and then you can go and rest, I am sure you must be tired!" Richard says and I nod taking the envelope from my mom.

"Alright then, I am going and I will see you later!" I say and after I force a smile I start walking to the pack house.

I greet the omegas that bow to me with respect smiling in excitement and I get in the pack house in hurry.

The truth is that I missed them as well and I know they love me because I was always treating them with kindness! Omegas or not they are members our pack, they are helping and taking care of us so this is the least I can do for them. For me we are equal and I don't care that much about the rank.

I continue walking to the stairs and give some quick looks around me to smile pleased as the house is still decorated according to Cassidy's tastes and it is elegant yet modern. I am sure that if Lillian decides to change the decoration my eyes are going to hurt because her state is well known and not fine by me.

I start walking up the stairs after a while and I am shaking slightly from nervousness and fear if I may say for Thor's behavior because I know that he can be arrogant, rude and cocky! He has this fault, he can be a very selfish yet hard man and I have personal experience as I was present lots of times when he was offending other people. Back then we were friends and he never did such a thing to me but now things have changed, he has deleted me from his life and...

I don't know.

The closer I get the more my footsteps get heavy and once I set my foot on the top floor I sigh trying to get rid of my stress but it feels pointless.

I walk on my left where his office is as he has taken his fathere once he became the Alpha and I was already left back then and when I stop outside of it I close my eyes and take a deep, desperate breath.

Clea is restless in my mind for the first time till now and she is making it worse for me so if she keeps on acting like this I am going to block her for the very first time in my life and I already don't like this idea, I need her more than ever.

I find the courage to knock the door some seconds later and wait with my heart ready to get out of my chest and Clea howling like crazy.

Something is wrong, I don't have a very good feeling, this is weird...

"Come in Cleo!"

I jump up terrified when I listen to his strong, deep, confident imposing voice that has almost nothing to do with the voice I could remember some minutes ago and I open the door trembling.

What a nice Beta I am, right?

I am acting like a chicken and he can't even kill me or harm me, he is not a monster, he knows me after all.

I get in with my head bended and close the door behind me in silence. I lift my head slowly to look at him once I am done and I see him standing behind the big central window with his back on me.

I can't stop myself from admiring the man he has become and I feel drown for some seconds. Clea has lost her mind for good now and her howls are making me dizzy but then Thor starts turning around slowly and when his eyes meet mine I gasp ready to pass out.

Clea's screams suddenly make sense and my skin shudders.

"MATE! MATE! MATE!" she keeps on screaming and I instinctually smile overwhelmed from excitement and relief that soon turn to fear, pain and desperation.

I recall everything they told me a while ago about Lillian being Thor's mate and my heart tightens.

She is not his mate, I am but...

Why did he say that?

"Mate!" I whisper instinctually unable to hold back and observe Thor walking to me slowly with a dark horrifying expression that leads me closer to passing out.

"Thor?" I whisper breathless the moment he stops about two steps away from me.

He doesn't speak or move, he is just staring at me in the eyes with a gaze full of hatred, anger, disappointment and I think I am running out of oxygen, the envelope falls from my shaking hands and before I realize it...

I find my head turned on my right, my eyes close, an echoing sound of slap makes my head hurt, my left cheek feels like burning and my heart breaks as the realization hits me.

Thor...

He just...
