The 1973 Plymouth Duster’s baby blue paint chipped at numerous points. The hood didn’t match but came from a lime green version of this classic vehicle. Half the hood was rusted brown from oxidation. Remarkably, the chrome grille and taillights were impeccable.
Pamela purchased the vehicle for this occasion from an auto salvage yard for cheap. She believed it would blend in with some of the older cars on the reservation that were sometimes abandoned by tribal members. Once in a while, vehicles were abandoned by non-members to avoid the cost of salvaging them. Pamela hoped passersby would think it was just another abandoned vehicle on the reservation and leave her alone.
