Escape

1003 Words
Liana's pov Nash and I run away from Maxwell's castle and reach the middle of the woods. There's a waterfall cave which turned out to be Nash’s secret spot. We hide inside the cave and sit next to each other on the ground, leaning our backs against the cave wall. Nash squeezed my palm. I don't know why but I just chose to trust him over everything else. He removes his black jacket from his chest and shrouds my shivering shoulders. The sound of the heavy waterfall tunes my ears and a smile glints on my lips. “Thank you.” I mutter softly. “We just have to spend the night here, then we will leave for Spoken, Washington.” My head nods. It is impossible to defeat the entire secret society…the only possible option is to escape from Velverine. Nash looks into my eyes. “I need your permission to mark you.” “Mark me?” My eyes widened. “If we ever get separated, your scent will help me track you down.” Words come out of his mouth. Marking someone means connection with their soul, scent, and body. “Tell me, Lia.” “There's something you should know…” It is important to clear everything before Nash marks me as his mate. I don't want him to feel betrayed afterward. “What is it?” His brow twitched. My lips suck a deep breath. “Jace and I…that day in the greenhouse…” “Did you sleep with him?” His tone changes to cold. “No, but we kissed and…” “Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh” His palm grasps my mouth. “If you didn't sleep with him, then we're fine, and even if you had slept with him, I would have protected you.” “Why are you being so nice to me?” “Shouldn't you use me for the sacrifice?” His fingers gently tuck my loose strands behind my ear. “I love you, Lia.” “I have fallen for you the moment you walked into our house.” “I just want to be with you.” My heart skips a beat and a thousand whirlwind emotions start piling up inside my chest. “Mark me, Nash.” His gaze softens and his fingers slowly go inside my blue hair, whereas his lips touch my neck. I gulp and lift my head. He softly inserts his teeth into my neck, and pain replenishes my soul. I moan in pain and my nails hold onto his broad back. He slowly pulls back and our eyes meet. “Is it done?” A smile glints on his lips and he presses them on mine. He slowly starts sucking my bottom lip and I lose myself with his touch. In the blink of an eye, his strength lifts me on his lap. I don't hold back either and kiss him back. My arms wrap around his neck whereas my legs encircle around his waist. We kiss passionately and deeply. Our tongues get engaged with one another and his fingers start exploring my back. We embrace each other's lips until we lose our breathing. *Breath We swiftly pull apart, and he kisses my right bre*st and then looks into my eyes. “You're mine now, Lia.” “Only mine.” All of a sudden, strange noises reach our ears from outside the cave. “Did they find us?” “I am going out to check, you stay here.” “Nash!” My fingers clutch his shirt. “I will come back safe.” He smiles and walks out of the cave. Half an hour later… My soul is panicking from the inside. Nash is still not back and I can't feel anything inside my chest. All of a sudden… “Lia?” My head turns to the familiar voice and it is Jace outside the cave. “What is he doing here?” Immense fear crawls over my skin. I get up from the ground and slowly take steps back, yet he steps inside and looks at me most passionately. “How could you be so careless?” Anger spills out of his mouth. “Do you have any idea how dangerous it is for you…” “You all want to sacrifice me!” My voice interrupts his words. “I figured you found out since the secret room was a mess but what makes you think Nash is really on your side?” “What if he's playing nice?” My heart drops to my stomach. “Where is Nash?” My lips ask. “I don't know…I found your location because my heart felt it.” “What does that mean?” My forehead folds. He sighs. “I don't know what Nash told you but we're fated mates, Lia.” Nash was lying??? They say you dream about your fated mate and are drawn to them before you realize your connection…and I dreamt about Jace, not Nash. Nash would never, or did he actually fool me with the nice guy act? Who should I trust? “Lia” “We need to go to the airport right now before Nash finds out.” “Airport?” “We're leaving Velverine!” He comes closer and grabs my wrist. “Trust me, please!” His eyes are genuine and if we're leaving for the airport right now…that means he is telling the truth. We stepped out of the cave together. . . . One hour later… Nash’s pov I step inside the cave only to see it empty and no trace of Lia. Even outside, there was nothing. I told her to stay here but she ended up going against my words. “LIA” “WHERE ARE YOU?” “LIA” I keep shouting like a crazy person but no response from her side. She disappeared like the wind or with someone else. F*ck! My plan is ruined.
