Chapter 2 : Mysterious Guy and Me

"Wow! This whole view is so beautiful!" I can't help declaring. I'm now standing at one end of the cabin of the ferris wheel. "You're very excited." The mysterious guy told be as he observed me. He sounded amused by my enthusiasm. "Of course. It's not everyday that I can be high above like I'm in the sky like this and took everything in below." I pointed out. "You can look below from the top of the tallest building." He reminded her. "It's still different." I countered what he said. "The view wouldn't be like this if I just went and look up from a tall building. I won't see these sight of people having fun at the fair and taking their leisure time to enjoy themselves. While if I look down from a tall building, all I see are more smaller buildings, traffic and people walking so fast so they won't be late for their appointments, it's not pretty to look at." I explained. I took a few shots from one angle, aiming for the fair below us. After taking the photos I went near this mysterious guy who seemed so amused with me and showed him the photos I took. "Look. You'll know what I meant." The mysterious guy looked at the photos I showed him. I can't see his reaction due to all his face coverings but with how long he looked at the photos as if analyzing or appreciating it, I bet he likes it, too. I mean, if he didn't like it, he could just easily say that he didn't like it. "You took great photos. You have a future as a professional photographer." He complimented me. I'm so happy. Since that's one of my dreams. I would like to take beautiful photographs and display them in a gallery someday. That goes to show that I would also like to travel to different parts of the world so that I can take such photographs. Take note that I like to take beautiful, artistic and picturesque photos and not that kind what photo journalist does. I would be more of a travel type of photographer. I also like fashion, besides arts. "Thanks. I plan to travel someday and take such beautiful photographs to places I'll go to." I told him with a smile in a wistful tone. Before I could do that, I need to graduate first, get a job that will also require me to travel so I can save money for my dream. Maybe I need to apply to be an assistant for a professional photographer first, to gain experience and to also be able to travel. "Hmm. A friend of a friend's aunt of mine is a fashion photographer. If you want to gain knowledge and work experience, I think it won't hurt if you try to contact her. That is if you want it. It's up to you." The guy told me thoughtfully before he rummaged through the zipped pocket of his hoodie and took out his designer wallet. One thing's for sure, this guy was no ordinary guy. He might look just like any other guy with his simple jeans and hoodie, but from the top of his hoodie covered head and cap down to his sneakers, he's wearing branded stuff. Either he was a son and heir of some rich family or he was really rich himself. By the way he was trying to hide his face and how tall and proportional his body was, he was probably a model or some rookie actor. Well, whoever he does, it's his business. After he took out his wallet, he handed me a silver colored business card with a high quality looking paper. It has the logo of a company with the fashion photographer's name and contact information on it. "Here. If you decide you want to try being a fashion photographer, she can be your mentor of some sort." The mysterious guy told me as he handed me the car. I automatically took it and looked at it. My eyes widened when I read the name on the card. Rose Burnett. She's a professional photographer who won a lot of awards with her artistic photos, she had some photo exhibits and now has her own company as a professional photographer. I'm a fan of hers! I bought all of her photography books and magazines with her photo compilations. My parents and brothers even gifted me some of her photographs that's framed and displayed inside my room! I looked at the mysterious guy in front of me in disbelief. "Your friend is friends who's aunt is Rose Burnett!" I couldn't help squealing in excitement. He shrugged nonchalantly as if it's not that big of a deal. "It seems you're familiar with her." He observed while he's looking at me. "Duh! I'm a huge fan! I collected some of her works. She inspires me to pursue my dreams!" I couldn't help but gushed excitedly. Then I looked at him with a frown. "Then does that mean you know her also, and if you know her, since she's a professional photographer, did she took some of your photos? Are you a model? Is that why your face is covered like a vampire or mummy that doesn't like to be exposed in sunlight or be recognize by others?" I asked him straightforwardly. He slightly move his head in a lazy nod, in acknowledgement. "Of some sort. I'm not a vampire or a mummy, though. That's why I can only get away from people while I'm hiding like this." He explained with dry humor. "I bet you got paid well, though. You look like a walking advertisement for branded stuff." I teased him. "I get paid enough to live comfortably. But most of the brands I used are sponsored or gifted to me by those brands, so I can advertise them." He told me casually. As if he really didn't care about it that much. "Must be nice. You can sell them if you don't want them, you know." I suggested jokingly. "My friends and acquaintes help themselves with it enough, so they won't be wasted." He told me. I rolled my eyes. "Such great friends you have. Mooching off of you. I bet some of them only hangs out with you just to get all those perks of being your friends." I muttered, lecturing him a bit. He chuckled. It sounded nice and husky. It gives me shivers to my spine down to my toes. "Don't worry, I'm also using them as my subordinate. I have my inner circle consists of my close and real friends, and then I have my friends whose also somewhat a subordinate who do my biddings like minions." He joked. I shrugged. "If you say so. But what if they stab you in the back?" "Then their perks and freebies will be gone down the drain if they ever do that. Besides, it doesn't mean I fully trusted them with my personal secrets." "Like disguising yourself and going out on your own like now?" I asked teasingly with my eyebrow lifted. "Yeah. Only my trusted assistant who's pretending to be me right now who knew about it." He informed me with amusement. As if he's having fun fooling everyone. "Poor assistant. I bet he's crying and wishing you'll be back soon." I shook my head. Also amused. "He knows I'll be back. I just want to be free from those responsibilities, work and people even for a while." He told me before shrugging. "Enough about me, I thought you'll be taking pictures? You also owe me a photo with you. Send it to me after you took it." He reminded me. "Fine." I agreed with a smile. Excited. And also curious. How I wished I can see who he is but that will be pushing it, I guess.
