Chapter 8 : Pen Name

1010 Words
'Ehhhhhh!!!!! I didn't think he will still be reminded about that!!!' that's my inner thoughts screaming and panicking at the moment. I mean, I might have told and agreed with his request earlier of telling him my pen name from my writing as a fiction online author just so he would agree to my request, but I didn't really believe that he's really serious about that. This guy really didn't do what I think or expected him to do. I mean, most guys will just forget about those kind of things, I mean I thought it's probably just his way to be polite, right? Well, obviously I'm sooo wrong! And he didn't even thought that I only agreed to his request just so I can take his photos. We're really so not in the same page! Anyway, it's a promise and besides, since he's really busy with his schedule and all, he probably won't be able to read any of my fictions anyway until he'll just forget about it completely. But before I give him the correct website where I post my fiction, I take a mental inventory of trying to remember whether I ever written a steamy scenes on any of my story? I mean, that's one of the reason why I don't advertise to my friends that I write fiction online anyway. I sighed. Whatever. "Fine. Since I promise you that I'll tell you the website..." I finally agreed and told him the site where I write and post stories. When he typed my pen name, the title and book covers I personally created using photos I also took and edited appeared on the page. I have like three short stories and one still on-going. I gain money thru my readers generosity. Besides the stories I write, I also sell at the market place section some photos and art and stuff like little knick knacls there inspired from the stories I write, and my avid readers and other people also bought those stuff, so it adds to my income. "You're really good with photography, and very artistic, too." Dylan complimented me as he scrolled through my account. "It's too bad I can't check out your stories right now since our ferris wheel ride will end soon and I have to go back, they're probably looking for me right now. I told them I just want to relax and have some fresh air for a bit before our band's performance later." He told me. Oh, I remembered that their band was invited by our school principal to perform at our school's fair. Every year, the school invites celebrity idols to perform and liven up the school fair more to attract more attention and attendees, and also gain more money that will be put for school funds that the school will be using for student's activities and part of it will also be given to charities that the school is sponsoring. "You're really planning to look and read the nonsense I'm writing?" I asked him with wide eyes and arched brow, also acting and sounding oh-so nonchalant about it, but really, I'm so freaking nervous and hoping he'll just forget about it. "Of course. I'm looking forward to read what you write about. Especially since you included some of the photos you took in it. The cover and your account looks so artistic." Dylan told me, praising me with what I did with my personal account page. Well, I want to stand out and be noticed even if my story isn't done life changing or unique, at least the readers will be attracted and curious to see my story the moment they saw the beaitifule photos and designs I made for my account and the front cover of my story. "Thank you for the compliment. I really like hearing nice things about my photography." I told him with a smile. As much as I like hearing praises for the photos I like taking, it's not the same with writing. Like I said, photography is a passion of mine since I like capturing beautiful things behind the camera lens, while I only write to get some thoughts out of my head. I don't even think that the stories I write are that good since it's all mostly about short chapters like a journal thing only there were characters in them. "It's obvious that you like taking photos." Dylan remarked, despite not seeing his smile because of his mask, I could hear it in the sound of his voice "That's right." I agreed with a smile of my own. This is better. Let us talk about my photography and not my stories. "Then you should really check out that photographer I told you about, who knows, it might help you later when you decided to become a professional photographer." Dylan reminded me about his photographer friend that was looking for an assistant. Dylan has a point. His friend's friends aunt that I admire could also give me some other ideas and suggestions that I still don't know, and in the long run, making connections could help me later with being a professional photographer if I decide to pursue that career path instead. I nodded in agreement to Dylan. "I'll give her a call later. After I got home." Dylan nodded before looking outside the cabin to see if we're near the ground already. He sighed. "It's a bummer that our ride is over." He lamented. "Yeah. The view is nice up there." I agreed. "Yes. It really is a beautiful view. " He said while looking at me. My heart skipped a beat! I'm not dumb nor naive. Duh! I knew he meant it to be me! I might not have seen Dylan's eyes because he has his shades on, but I could feel his almost penetrating gaze at me! I can tell! And now I feel like melting like a puddle of f*****g goo! I'm now feeling so conscious that I haven't felt before after finding out he's Dylan Kim!
