“You...” Cole stopped Chase as he spoke. He stood between Chase and Lola instantly, "Mommy. I want to pee. Where's the toilet?" Cole didn't know what was happening, but Mommy was clearly scared. So he wanted to get her out of this situation as soon as possible.
Lola didn't expect Cole would come up with an excuse like this. Pinching her voice, Lola grabbed his little arm before running away, "Mommy's taking you to the toilet right now."
What the heck was happening? Monna and Mia exchanged a look before they caught up with them. Chase didn't want to let his new suspect get away that easily. He was gonna follow up but Susan grabbed his arm, pulling him back, "Chase, just forget about it. They are just a bunch of little bastards. I bet their mom is also some sort of peasant. You just couldn't make sense with people like that. I'm okay now. I don't need their apologies."
Chase stopped as he fixed his eyes on the woman before him, contemplating as he said, "You know what? I think that girl was probably right. It was probably not their fault." With that, he pulled away and left.
"Chase, what do you mean?" The woman looked incredulous as she caught up with the man, "Are you gonna believe those little bastards instead of me? We know each other since we were children. How could you trust some random strangers over me?"
Their families were quite close to each other, but it was not quite the same case between them. Chase didn't feel anything for this spoiled Miss Fox before him. He wouldn't have come to pick her up at the airport if he didn't need to know something from her family. Ignoring her complaint, Chase walked out of the terminal and got in his car. Susan followed up and sat beside him in the backseat, "Chase, that woman covered herself from head to toe. I bet she's wanted or something…" Chase had got a bit annoyed at this point, so he ignored her completely. "Drive," he ordered the driver as he closed his eyes to take a nap.
Being totally ignored by Chase, Susan was clever enough to bring up the topic he was concerned about. "How is Kevin now?"
Chase opened his eyes as he heard his son's name. He sounded quite determined as he answered, "He will be fine as long as we can find Madam Dussa."
Madam Dussa, is a well-known doctor. No one didn't know her name in the world. A couple of years ago, she saved one of the royal members' life in another country with her exceptional and unparallel medical skills.
Only my dad has more detailed information about Madam Dussa. This will be a great bargaining chip. I might even ask Chase to marry me in exchange for Madam Dussa’s whereabouts. Susan, clever you.
Thinking of that, a smug look appeared on Susan's face. And that was actually why her father, Julian Fox, had urged her to come back in the first place. For her being able to marry into the Dalton Family, the most powerful and prestigious family in this city would bring numerous benefits to her family.
"Don't worry, Chase. My father will definitely find that doctor for you."
"That would be nice," Chase sounded cold and impatient. He knew Kevin's situation was getting worse…
…
Inside Fox's mansion, Chase was reclining on the black leathered couch. He was wearing a neatly tailored suit, long fingers tapping on the armrests impatiently. Julian was the owner of the house, but he felt extremely nervous before Chase.
"Mr. Fox, I've taken your daughter back. Could you give me the information now?" Chase asked, looking straight into his eyes.
Julian was a cunning businessman. He had used the information to make Chase see Susan. Now he wanted to use the information to make Chase propose to Susan. Telling Chase, where Madam Dussa was right now, was throwing his bargaining chip into the river. Taking a sip of his coffee, Julian sounded quite at ease, "Relax, Chase. I've sent people to find Madam Dussa. They said she came back ahead of time. I will bring her to you as soon as we find her."
Chase stared coldly at Julian Fox as he narrowed his eyes, clenching his fist hard. Kevin can’t wait any longer. Damn it! This old cunning fox has been toying with me?! Julian Fox had said he knew where Madam Dussa was but now he said he still needed to find her… Was Julian Fox treating him like an i***t? Chase shot up from his seat and marched out of the mansion.
"Chase! Where are you going?" Susan followed up instantly.
"From now on, I will find Madam Dussa by myself. Tell your father that he doesn't need to worry about it anymore."
That old fox tricked him. He would definitely make his whole burrows pay!
…
Monna was wolfing down a plate of cream puffs in the bakery. Lola walked toward the cashier as she fished out her purse, "Ma'am, excuse me…"
"One cheesecake, please, take away." The voice was cold and familiar. Lola couldn't help but turn around, only to meet Chase's cold gaze. Time stood still as she started to panic. She thought she had gotten away from this the last time but now they somehow met again… Lola turned away instantly, trying to walk away without being noticed. Sh*t! Him again! Did he recognize me? He clearly saw my face. What if he did remember me... Take a breath. Calm down, Lola. Act normal.
To make sure of her babies' safety, Lola decided to take her babies and get out of this place as soon as possible. However, she bumped into somebody the next minute. When she looked up, Chase Dalton was staring down at her in hot anger, "Are you still trying to run?"
