11 Treatment for Kevin

661 Words
Lola had been standing outside of the mansion for a while before she finally plucked up the courage to ring the bell. Calm down, just calm down… He won't recognize you. Lola reassured herself again and again. Mr. Smith opened the door and let her in, "You're… Madam Dussa, right?" Lola nodded with a stiff smile on her face. Mia had performed all her makeup skills on her face. Lola had faith in her genius daughter. But she still need to pay attention to her voice and postures, so Dalton wouldn't recognize her. "Great! Mr. Dalton has been expecting you. Please follow me," the old man led the way. Lola followed up, her eyes darting left and right in the mansion. Dalton was filthy rich. Each item in this house was tasteful, giving off the smell of money and entitlement… When she finally got to see Chase, she held in her breath unconsciously. "It's good to finally see you, Madam Dussa?" The man marched toward her, holding out a strong hand. Lola hesitated for a while and shook the hand meekly. Chase arched an eyebrow as he felt the softness of her hand, thinking, why does she feel familiar to me? But Lola pulled away before he could say anything. "Can I see the boy first, Mr. Dalton?" Lola faked a husky and old voice. "Sure," Chase led her upstairs instantly. Seeing Kevin lying on the bed weakly broke Lola's heart. She put a hand on the boy's forehead. Kevin opened his eyes to the warmness of her hand, frowning the second he saw the woman's face, thinking, who is she? I don’t remember I’ve ever met her before, but she somehow feels so familiar and warm. Lola looked into her son's grey eyes, trying to suppress the mixed feelings churning in her chest. "Kevin, I'm here to treat you. Do you feel any pain right now?" Lola asked gently. "Who are you?" The boy didn't look away. Every woman who came to this mansion tended to put on a lot of makeup, sparing no efforts to look good for his dad. This woman, however, didn't have too much makeup on. She'd got a red mark about the size of a nail on her left cheek. She might look mediocre, but Kevin somehow thought she was probably the most special woman among all of them. "I'm your doctor. I'm here to make you feel better…" Saying that, Lola grabbed his chubby little arm and felt his pulse. Her face became grim as she felt it. Kevin was still so little, but he already had a pretty severe problem with his stomach and lungs. "Madam, Kevin just puked blood again. Do you know what happened to him?" Mr. Smith asked. "His body is too fragile. He puked blood because his stomach is in a dangerous situation. You must pay attention to his diet. I will insert a couple of silver needles in his body to activate the relevant never endings first and I'll prescribe some medicines for him later. You must stick to the prescription and make him take the medicine every day." "No problem, Madam," Mr. Smith promised. "No! You can't put the needles in me! I'm not sick! Make her go away!" Kevin scream. "Kevin, be good!" Chase demanded with a stern voice, but Lola could tell how heartbreaking he was. Lola sighed and pulled out her needles. She had no choice. If she didn't use the needles right now, Kevin would still suffer. "I'm not sick! I hate needles! You can't do that to me!" "Kevin Dalton! That's enough!" Chase bellowed. Kevin's loud cry broke the tension, "I HATE YOU! You always scold me! Mommy! I want Mommy! Where is my Mommy!" Lola felt her heart shattered into thousands of pieces. She went pale. "Where is my mommy? Why don't I have Mommy?" Kevin… My Kevin… Lola started to tremble. She held out a hand at her little boy.
