We spent the rest of the evening in each other’s company. I laughed in the wings whenever he went on stage to entertain the crowd and introduce the next performer. He was an absolute natural and a gifted entertainer. A gay couple wearing Batman and Robin outfits won the contest for best costume. I hung out with DeeDee and Brenda off and on throughout the night, and even got out on the dance floor when the BeeGees played over the speakers. I didn’t have much rhythm, but I enjoyed myself.
