Chapter 4

1238 Words
A calm forest was seen. Peaceful and tranquil. Thriving with life, until a boom was heard. The fearful cries and roars of animals were heard as the desperate footsteps of thousand were growing in sound, shaking the lands itself. Cracking it. Soon the peaceful forest was no more. Dead. Ruined. Broken. ****** "Sit up straighter!" "No that is not how you walk!" "Your eating is awfully ugly and shameful!" "How could you drink tea in such an ungraceful and inelegant manner!" For those of you who are confused as to what's going on, it's simple.  Yukino was dying. Why? Because her accursed teachers were beating her poor ears with their screaming, even though she was on a much higher social standing then them. For the past three years Yukino has been able to successfully laze around, but now six, Yukino is required to take classes. Even worse, etiquette classes. Not only that, the accursed book has been waking her up everyday in the middle of the night to practice her magic. So for three years she has been practicing her magic in the book's space. Strangely, Yukino started growing semi fond of it, thus naming Kami No Hon, which translates to 'The Divine Book'. Kami wasn't so fond of the name as it was more of a title than a name, but had to deal with it. So in return it made Yukino do practice more. Yukino, of course wasn't aware, otherwise she would have burned the book to ashes. After two more hours of etiquette classes, Yukino was finally free. Her head plopped down onto the desk the moment the teacher left and she closed her eyes, hoping to get some sleep.  Of course it didn't work as Yukino's brother Taiyo came along and woke gently woke her up. In the past three years, as Yukino got lazier and lazier, Taiyo has evolved from the hyper boy to a kind and gentle one. Now at the age of 8, he has attained many pursuers. His tall broad frame that came from his constant practice with the sword, spear, and bow and arrows. Neat black hair sat on his head with two black ears poking out. Blood red eyes that often radiated an intimidating aura but it always grew soft at the sight of his sister. However, now he was eight, meaning that he and the rest of the royal family of the Fox Clan must attend the awakening ceremony. The awakening ceremony is held every year during the first full moon of the year. Every royal family in the 'East' must participate if they have a child that is attending the ceremony or had already attended it before. All of you must be wondering what the 'East' was. Well in the world Yukino was currently living in, there are four land masses. The North, the South, the East and the West. Each land mass was triangular and placed together like a compass.  The North pointed north. The South pointed south. The East pointed east. And the West pointed west. Pretty self explanatory. Going back to the awakening ceremony that will be held tomorrow at the Palace Halls of the Dragon Clan. Meaning that after classes today, Yukino will have to go pack, as the Dragon Clan is on the other side. The Clan was located at the tip pointing east, while the Fox Clan was at the southeast corner. So yeah, very far from each other. In an hour, Yukino finished her packing. She had packed her blankets, clothes, and of course her precious book, Kami. The food will be packed with the chef that will be coming along. They will be staying there for three days before heading back. On the request of the dragon royal family. Climbing into the fancy carriage, Yukino looked around, greeting her parents and brother. "Mommy, daddy, oni-san!" Yukino greeted in her childish six year old voice. The family smiled at her gently while her mother patted the seat by her indicating that she saved a spot for her, a very very tiny spot as her mother and father were sharing a seat. "Yuki, how about you sit with me? I'll let you use my tail as a pillow." Taiyo said, helping Yukino escape her dilemma. Yukino's eyes brightened when her brother offered her his tail as a pillow, for some reason, Taiyo's tail is very very fluffy, her mother didn't have a tail as she was part of the Phoenix Clan. Yukino readily agreed and went to her brother's side. Then with hugging Kami and her brother's tail, and with the gentle rocking of the carriage she fell asleep.  Or that's what it seemed for the rest of the family. In reality, Yukino was inside the space in Kami the Book. Over the years, Yukino has fed the book many precious materials that the Fox Clan's Treasury had, causing the book to level up to level 4. Now, Yukino's soul could also make a visit to the space. The book was like an inventory in games. She could store things in the book and it sorts it in alphabetical order, then all she has to do is tell the book the search it up and voila! There it is. The concept of time also has no effect on the space. Put in fresh food and even in ten years you will still pull out fresh food. And although Yukino wouldn't tell Kami this, she has to admit of all the things she chose, Kami was by far the best choice of all. It was like a dictionary and encyclopedia.  Kami even had a camera that could identify something. Kind of like a pokedex, expect it wasn't made only to identify one thing like a pokedex.    Kami asked Yukino. Kami, since she reached level 3 has been able to speak. Not sure if that is good or not, since now Kami can bother her even more now, as Yukino can't just look away. What's even more annoying is that she doesn't have to be in Kami's space now either. They also talk telepathically, usually it ends up with Yukino screaming in frustration, which then earns her stares saying 'Are you crazy?'. "Bad." Yukino replied, thinking that she could have gotten a decent nap without an interruption.  Kami, however, thought differently. "What?!" Yukino, who had just laid down in the space about to sleep, sat right back up.  When Yukino did not reply, Kami knew she had guessed right. "Hey I had more pressing things to worry about!" Yukino defended weakly. "Exactly! You know me so well!" Kami gave a sigh. "Thank you, but I prefer my nap over this." "..." Yukino stared into oblivion. "Wait… are you telling me to die?"  "Why I'm nothing like the villainess!" "Alright, alright!" Yukino sighed with exasperation and the need to sleep. "Just give me the info and let me sleep." Kami said with satisfaction. "Cool, how many capture targets are there?" "Oof, sexist people."  "You don't need to say anything. A capture target is in the Dragon Clan." "Excus-" Yukino was cut off before she could utter the word excuse. "Okay…?" Yukino said with a 'what do you want ms to do with this information' tone. "......So I'll be meeting them all tomorrow?" "Oh my lord…."
