CHAPTER 1 - THE BETRAYAL

(JANE’S POV)

When I opened the glass doors that led to the balcony, I felt my whole breath leave my body in a gasp. A tear pricked at the corner of my eyes as I stared at the beautiful view of Seattle city that was before me. Nathan was right, this was the best view in the hotel.

I smiled at the bouquet of roses that was set on the glass table along with bucket of champagne and ice. I sat on the cute little chair before I noticed the note that was dropped for me on the table. In his beautiful handwriting, Nathan wrote ; I can’t wait to get married to you Jane .

I placed the note to my chest and closed my eyes letting the sweet December breeze kiss my face as i giggled in excitement. My dreams would be here by tomorrow morning. I would be married to the best man in the world and I would still give my parents the best give I could give them, A trustworthy, strong and honest Werewolf to lead the pack and become the Alpha.

You see my father is the Alpha of blue pack and even though he is the toughest werewolf I know, his only child me is a weak and normal human being. My mother is a human as well and though I was expected to be a hybrid, I am just a human being. So Nathan is really a blessing not just to me but to my family and pack.

As I sit at the balcony wondering what it would be like to finally be his wife, excitement wells up in me and I decide to sneak to his suite for a surprise. I hurriedly wear a pretty silk dress and simple glass slippers. My cousin, Emilia has warned me not to see Nathan till the wedding but I miss him and I want to thank him for such a thoughtful gift.

We are in the same hotel even though in seperate suites. This was Nathan’s idea. He said it would make sure that everyone was in the same place and there would be no confusions on the big day. I told you, my husband to be is the most thoughtful and wonderful person to grace the earth.

So I sneak off to his own suite which is by the end of the hall. Luckily for me the door is opened a c***k and I smile mischievously as I carefully and quietly tip toe inside closing the door behind me without making a sound. But just as I got in to the room i froze.

I heard a loud moan and my smile disappeared from my face in a swift instant. I felt my excitement turn in to sourness as I heard sounds that I knew were sec sounds. My heart started pounding so loudly and I felt dizzy that I had to hold the wall to support myself. What was going on? Was I in the wrong room? I looked around and seeing the hung up suit and the arrangement of the cuff links and shoes, I knew that I was definitely not in the wrong room. But something was wrong. Maybe someone else was using this room instead of Nathan.

I could hardly move a step as I listened to a lady’s moaning sounding louder and more sensual. Then what made me to move my body was when I heard a name being called out by the lady.

“Oh! Nathan!” She cried out

I held my chest and swallowed as if to calm myself down.

“Yes baby.” A voice responded and then I knew what was going on.

That was Nathan’s voice. I would know it anywhere I heard it. And it was definitely his for sure.

Gathering my courage, I walked on not making a sound as I did and then I pushed past a curtain and saw what broke me and shattered me in to pieces.

My best friend Maya was in bed with Nathan. A piercing sound hit my ears and I felt my eyes go blurry with tears. What was happening? I knew well enough what was happening and there was no need for me to lie to myself. I watched them rhythmically moving in the sheets and the tears streamed down my face effortlessly. When finally he rolled over her, he held her close to his body and kissed her.

“I love you so much Maya.” He said with the words breaking me.

Those words are for me! They are for me! He loves me!

“I don’t think so.” Maya said. “I mean I want to believe you but you are getting married to her tomorrow aren’t you?” She said and for the first time in my life, I heard spite in her voice against me.

“Come on. You know why I am doing it.” He said brushing her brown hair the way he usually did mine.

“You know that I am only doing this so that I can become the Alpha. I don’t love her. We have the perfect plan so don’t think otherwise. When I become the Alpha and leader of blue pack, everything will be in my control. I can do what I want with her and her parents. And then you can be my Luna. You will be my Luna. You are my soul mate and nothing would change that. I can’t spend my life with such a weak human.” He said the last words with a scoff and I almost fell to the ground.

My knees felt weak and my legs trembled too. Me? A weak human? Why was he saying that?

Maya is a wolf. A very strong one at that and she is from our pack as well. I wonder if this is happening because I am not a wolf. If I was a wolf then maybe he would love me too. But I am nothing but a weak human just as he called me.

I felt a stab in my chest. My heart was broken. By my own best friend and my husband to be. The person I saw myself spending the rest of my life with. He decided to treat me this way. The feeling of betrayal washed over me and I broke in to a sob.

That was when they noticed that I was present with them in the room.

“Jane!” Nathan snapped and I looked back at him very horrified.
