"Sir?" At the prompt from his assistant by the side, Donovan withdrew his heated gaze from the receding figure of the ballsy woman to pin his assistant with a questioning look. "What is it?" His voice, a cool toned deep baritone rumbled, his dark brows in a furrow. "It's just.." His assistant, John, hesitated; sensitive to his boss's slight irritation. "What should we do about the attendant sir? Some of the customers had left after the woman, unwilling to shop anymore," John spoke, his heart thundering as he saw Donovan's face begin to darken. "Alert the manager of our presence. How poorly had our services fallen in just a year of absence?" Donovan ordered his assistance, turning to survey the store as he mused to himself. He knew it had been the right thing to do to come visit his businesses incognito, as he's always done whenever he was away for a long period of time. To think not only were his staff sending away customers too, they were also extremely rude in such a way others were not inclined to stay anymore, and even more unlikely to come back, he reckoned. But who was that woman? He couldn't help but wonder. She was beautiful in such a fiery way he was so unused to seeing. Most of the women he interacted with, had this pretense of being soft delicate ladies, fragile as glass and unbelievably pampered. They were extremely beautiful sure, but their beauty had never evoked much reaction from him apart from slight appreciation. But he supposed, he shouldn’t even be bothering with ladies anymore. Wether they were soft and pretty or hot and fiery. With a pinch to his forehead, he remembered the existence of his ill fated fiancé. It’s been two years since he’d last seen her, and they hadn’t shared any communications in the years he’s spent abroad. She never bothered to reach out and he couldn’t care less in doing so himself. He wondered where she was or what she was doing now. Well, if it was Alexia Valentino, it wasn’t much of a mystery what she might be doing with her life right now. Playing around with her little girlfriends enjoying daddy’s money. With an irritated sigh, he wondered how he was expected to spend the rest of his life with such a woman. “M-mr G-Giambelli Sir?” At the stuttered cry, Donovan turned to face the tall wiry figure of the branch’s manager, Victor. Victor had woken up on the wrong side of the bed today. He burnt his toast in the morning and spilt his coffee on his expensive slacks. His car ran out of gas in the middle of an intersection on the way to work and he got ticket. His ex girlfriend was getting married tomorrow, and to his younger brother. It was safe to say, today wasn’t going well for him at all. But he’d never expected his luck would be so bad, that the very first time he was meeting with his new boss, the powerful Donovan Giambelli, it was under such circumstances. “Who are you?” Donovan’s brows lowered, looking at the unfamiliar man. The branch manager he’d been familiar with, was a middle aged small man, Mr Thomas. “M-my name is Victor Banks sir, we spoke on the p-phone once.” Donovan’s mouth thinned as he looked at the shivering man. He knew the effect he had on people, but it still irked him to see such a weak display of composure from someone who supposedly worked for him. He valued confidence, composure and competence above all else in his employees. And this man didn’t meet one criteria. “Get the attendant.” Donovan ignoring Victor’s outstretched hand, his deep gravely voice sounded. Briefed by john on what happened, Victor started sweating buckets, as he nodded frantically and went out to search for the b***h Sasha. He’s heard tales of the infamous Donovan Giambelli, and the things he’d heard had his pace hastening. The man had fired people for even less, he could only hope to whatever God up there that his luck would turn up and he’d go unscathed. Donovan was in a bad mood. This is the fourth business of his he’d visited unannounced this morning alone, and he wasn’t impressed by the less than stellar performance of the services provided. Business was good, but the lack of discipline and corruption that invaded his empire bothered him to the core. And there was only one person responsible. His uncle. He’d had to move overseas for a while to personally oversee the expansion of their business, and left his Uncle in charge, at the insistence of his Mother, and in two short years he had managed to upheaval so much. This will not go unforgiven, he vowed. He’d get to the bottom of things and met out punishments accordingly. And oh, it seemed he still had a wedding to plan. Donovan’s forehead pinched again, a bitter taste in his mouth whenever he remembered that he’d have to meet up with his bratty fiancé soon. Heavens! Meanwhile, after exiting the luxurious boutique, Georgia entered the next shop, which she was pleased to discover had even more dresses that caught her eye than the last one. She quickly and efficiently got a nice dress that fit her so beautifully, though her heart still went out to the dress from that other shop. She paid for the dress and some matching shoes with plenty of change left, and then went to the dressing room to change. Georgia stood in her underwear in front of the full length mirror observing herself. She looked tired, with bags under her eyes, and her cheeks a bit sallow and pale. God she was hungry, she thought. She should’ve stopped by the food court first, before coming to shop. Shaking her head of the thoughts, she began to slip into the silky soft stretchy fabric, that hugged her generous curves like a glove. It looked good, she mused. Elegant and classy. She slipped into her high heels, and adjusted her dress a bit. She ran a hand through her bountiful curls, doing her best to style it with what little she had. And after messing with it a bit, she was pleased to achieve the perfect look she was going for. Digging into her purse, she took out a bright red lipstick which she put carefully on her lips, and her face immediately bloomed with color. She patted her cheeks a few times to give them some flush. Gorgeous, she thought. She wasn’t shy in complimenting herself when she knew she ate. And she certainly did. Twirling in front of the mirror for a few times, she grinned, now she was ready to meet her beloved family. She folded the clothes she’d removed and placed them into a bag, and walked out of the changing room, a confident gait to her strides. She could immediately feel the looks that snapped towards her from the few customers in the store, but she didn’t spare anyone a glance. Just as she was going out however, she caught eyes with the nice attendant who had been assigned to her, and caught her staring at her with wide blown eyes, a blush to her cheeks as she obviously checked her out. Georgia chuckled, a rich rumbling sound, winking at the woman before she stepped out, whipping out her phone with the thoughts of calling Anthony. He should be done by now, she thought. She’d given him plenty of time. Unlocking her phone, she walked with her head down without paying attention to her surroundings, and just as she was about to press on the button to call Anthony, she crashed painfully into a hard body. She cried, stumbling a bit, before strong warm hands quickly came to steady her, caging her within. Disoriented, and at loss for what happened, she took a breath to steady herself, inadvertently inhaling a scent that was nothing short of intoxicating. It was earthy toned with musky undertone that was so inherently male. As her eyes slowly traveled upward from where she had collided with the man's muscular chest, she was met with a sight that left her momentarily breathless. It was a man. No..he was certainly too handsome to be a mere man. She found herself trapped in the warmth of his powerful arms. The world seemed to slow down, and all she could focus on was the magnetic allure of his presence. She had never seen a more attractive man in her life. His striking features were like something out of a dream. Dark, well-groomed hair framed a chiseled jawline and a pair of piercing, almost obsidian eyes that held an intensity that was impossible to ignore. His full lips were parted slightly, and his impeccably tailored suit emphasized the breadth of his shoulders and the trimness of his waist. He exuded an air of authority and control that was undeniably alluring. Georgia couldn't help but be drawn to his scent..a rich, spicy cologne that clung to his skin and enveloped her in its tantalizing embrace. It was a scent that promised both power and sensuality, leaving her feeling both vulnerable and impossibly intrigued. Who was this man?
