"You bastard! You f*****g bastard!" The sharp cry pierced the stillness of the room. The sound coming from the aggravated Georgia. Her chest heaving with the efforts it took to reign her anger.
"Am telling you people she's crazy! Just look at her behavior, not only is she a spy, it looks like she belongs more in a psychiatry than a prison." Arthur says, his pudgy face squeezed in mock pity as he gestured towards the firms employees he had alerted to come witness the charade he had commandeered.
And he felt so good, seeing the usual head strong cold woman breaking to this point. This was what she got for ignoring his advances and thinking herself too good for him. Worthless b***h, she'd get what was coming for her in prison where she'd properly be "taking cared of good". She hadn't wanted his d**k, that's alright. He would give her plenty now, which she would have no choice but to take.
Georgia looked at the documents and pictures in her hand, unable to believe what the hell kind of person could possibly do this to her. She had no idea who the man in suit was, she only remembered him asking her for directions that one time in the cafe. She thought the encounter odd but she still helped. How was she to know he was a spy for a rival nation after government secrets. Some of which she'd gotten hold of due to her line of work. And these documents couldn't have proved her any less guilty.
Records of conversations with unknown numbers stated on her telephone line she'd never had, incriminating meeting schedules with the wrong people hand written by her writing on various occasions. And one ballsy one even had a cctv capturing of her in what seemed to an intimate embrace with one of the many enemies of the state, enjoying a nice dinner and handing out a stack of documents to him.
"This is fabrication I swear it! I'd never do this. And Marie! Come on you have to tell them that I was out with you on this exact date and this exact time having drinks. It can't obviously be me!" Like a lifeline, she had suddenly remembered that day's event and had turned to her coworker who she regularly went out with.
But Marie simply shuffled at her feet ignoring her gaze as she said, "I don't know what you're talking about Miss Valentine, I was home with my boyfriend who'd come to visit. My neighbors can even confirm.." She felt sorry for Georgia, she really did. But Arthur had promised her partner if she complied with what he had asked of her. She loved Georgia, but she simply loved her future far more.
"Marie.." Georgia stared at her with raw heartache, before she felt anger simmering within as she realized exactly what was happening. Arthur was determined to see her career over. And he wasn't above using the worst of means. And nobody would come to her rescue.
"I didn't do it. You have to believe me." Her voice sounded cold and empty, as she looked at the disgusted faces of her employees who looked at her as if she were the one betraying them and not the other way.
"Alright now everyone. You are all dismissed. I would like to speak with the traitor alone now," Arthur clapped his hands, gaining their attention.
"But..she could be dangerous sir, are you sure?" Cole asks with worry on his face as he look at Georgia with distrust and caution as if she were a rabid animal about to attack.
"No no, it's alright Cole. Your concern is appreciated though, I can handle things here." Arthur reassured, glee coursing through him. He couldn't believe how easily those fools were willing to believe him over that b***h Georgia. She can only blame herself for being so stuck up and unlikeable.
The employees all filed out of the room, giving Georgia different looks. From those that had pitied her situation to those who found pleasure in seeing her kicked down her high horse. And soon it was just her and Arthur in his vast cool toned office.
"Why would you do this to me? After all my efforts for the firm? We are even partners for f***s sake! No one had more than the other had, what could you possibly gain from this?" She crossed over the office to come face to face with the small man. As small as she was at 5 ft none, she was still about an inch or two taller than him.
"Revenge my darling. You insulted me all those years ago, demeaned me and made me feel like an i***t. How those it feel now? Being looked at with disgust as you had looked at me once?" Arthur snarled at her, his mouth curled in a sinister glare, with his heart pounding with excitement. He couldn't believe he'd finally done it, and oh how satisfying it was to get back at her.
Georgia stared at Arthur with a mixture of disbelief and anger. She couldn't fathom how his wounded pride from years ago had driven him to design such an elaborate scheme against her. Why would rejecting the advances of a man be the reason he would strive to destroy her life?!
"You're a vindictive little man, Arthur. I may have had my reservations about your advances, but this... this is beyond anything I could have imagined," she hissed, her voice dripping with contempt.
"You really shouldn't be talking to me that way Georgie. I literally have your future in the palms of my hands." He rose up a chubby stubby palm in gesture. "You see just as easily as I made all of this possible, I can all make it go away." He suddenly smirked, his eyes flashing with lewdness as his slimy gaze tracked her form fitted leather skirt and the white button down she wore that stretched across her abundant bosom. Oh he could imagine the things he'd do to that tight body of hers.
"What are you talking about?" She did not have a good feeling about whatever the man seemed to be proposing, and she could feel her stomach lurch as a thought crossed her mind.
"I'd let all your criminal charges disappear like the wind...if you become my plaything, and pleasure me anyhow and anyway I so please. It's a simple offer Georgia. It's either that, or risk a life sentence in prison." Arthur felt so proud of himself, so powerful with the fact that Georgia's fate rested on his palms.
Georgia's face contorted with a mix of disgust and disbelief at Arthur's vile proposition. She couldn't believe the depths to which he was willing to sink in order to exact his revenge.
"You're utterly despicable, Arthur. I'd rather rot in prison than give in to your sick desires," she spat, nausea bubbling within her. She couldn't believe how much her life could be disrupted in one morning. Everything had been going so well, she was about to win another difficult case and she had just paid the down p*****t for a property she had snagged in a respectable neighborhood. But the designs of one man threatened to dishevel all she's built, and all because she had refused to bed him once!
"Heh. You stupid b***h. Suit yourself then. I'd arrange for a you a fate far worse than death in prison. You'd wish you had loved on my c**k than the thousand others that would be forced upon you, you worthless b***h!"
Georgia's eyes blazed with anger and defiance. She knew she was in a perilous situation, but the thought of giving in to Arthur's sick demands was unthinkable. She would not be broken by this man.
"But you see, am a kind hearted man. I would give you the grace of today, before I call the cops on you. Take it as my heartfelt goodbye to you."
With a defiant fire in her eyes, Georgia knew she needed to act fast. She couldn't allow herself to be manipulated or humiliated by this despicable man any longer.
"You've made a big mistake Arthur. This firm would crumble to the ground without me and the cases my reputation helps bring. You would rue the day you ever decided to ruin my life. And I would never forget this embarrassment Arthur. Never." She glowered at him for few hard seconds, before she turned on her heels and exited her office before she was tempted to claw his detestable face.
She exited the office, her head held high and her stride's unyielding even as all she wanted to curl up in her sheets and bawl her eyes out, but she wouldn't allow them to see her broken. She wouldn't give them the satisfaction.
She hadn't an idea what she was supposed to do now, how she was going to prove her innocence when all the evidence proved damning against her. After ten years of hard struggle, through university and law school and finding her place in the legal world, all of it threatened to crumble and she didn't know how she could make it right again.
