Hours blended into days as Georgia drove the insane distance back to her home city. She had only stopped in the road at the gas station for a refill and to get some supplies. She had been incredibly lucky that she always managed to avoid major police roadblocks and all the people she’s met didn’t seem to recognize her. Well that might be because in hopes to remain far disclosed from Georgia Valentine, she had removed the murky brown contact lenses she’d always worn to hide her natural cerulean blue eyes. The picture of Georgia Valentine that the police had in circulation showed a young pretty woman with long brunette hair, brown eyes, a face with moderate makeup and wearing stylish clothes. She’d dyed her natural golden blonde hair brown since she’s left home at 16, all in efforts to stay remain far from the neglected daughter of the Valentino’s. Where she had been very pale once, her skin now had a glorious tan from the hours she’s spent in the beach in Roman city. She’d doubt her family would even recognize her on sight. Well they ought to. Since she shared the exact same face with their beloved daughter, and her twin sister, Alexia. Just the thought of that dreadful wench had Georgia grimacing. Of all the people she didn’t want to see when she went back home, her sister was the worst. She’d been the reason her family had disowned her and chased her away at 16. God how she hoped something terrible had happened to her sister or something and she met an untimely demise. Shaking the morbid thoughts away, she took reassurance once again from the fact that she didn’t look the exact replica of the image of her the people would be looking out for. Her face was scrubbed clean of any makeup, revealing her natural gorgeous features, and even the exotic beauty mark that she’d always hidden with concealer was on display. Her lips their natural pretty shade of pink. She had covered her brown hair with a beanie, and her striking blue eyes remained unhidden. No one would’ve ever made the connection that she was the wanted criminal, were they to see her now. A bit more confident with the fact, she let her tension strung shoulders finally loose, and she connected the radio to her phone, and blasted some of her favorite music. She was tired and exhausted, but she wouldn’t let herself think of that else she’d despair too much. Just like she didn’t give her mind time to process exactly where she was going now and to whom. Was it too late to make a turn for it and find some unknown county to hide in? Well..she supposed it was. With a sigh, she looked at the familiar billboard that read ‘Welcome to Moore.’ And though she was a few miles to the main city of Moore, she could already see the skyscrapers and the tall towers that seemed to reach the sky. They were more than she had remembered, but she could still recognize the city. Moore despite not being the capital city of the nation was home to society’s finest. People from all over the world flock to moore for a chance of a better life and the opportunities that moore presented. Moore was rich in music as they housed the finest orchestra and theaters. It was home to the biggest Tv network and celebrities were seen as a norm here. Powerful politicians, wealthy businessmen, heck even the ruthless mafia roamed the streets of Moore. It was a place where society's finest resided, a city where power, wealth, and fame intertwined. The thought of returning to this vibrant metropolis brought mixed emotions. Georgia had once been a part of this world, born into a family of privilege and prestige. She had grown up amidst opulence and wealth, but it had all come crashing down when she had been driven away by her family at 16. Now, as she approached the city, she contemplated the risks and challenges that awaited her. Moore was a place where her name still held power and notoriety, but she was no longer the innocent girl who had left. She had transformed, both physically and emotionally, during her time away. She was a different person, hardened by life's struggles, and determined to stand her ground in a city that had both welcomed and rejected her. She took a steadying breath as she brought the car to a slow stop by the side of the road. There was a police checkpoint just at the entrance of the city, and they were extremely strict and ruthless. They had to be, to detect the numerous criminals who sought to get entry into the city as well as smuggled goods that always managed to make themselves in despite all their efforts. She knew there was no way she would be able to cross the checkpoint without being apprehended. She would’ve been asked to provide papers, which now only bore the name of Georgia Valentine, there was no way she could give it to them. She sighed, the weight of what she was about to do, pressing on her. But it had to be done. With a resolved grunt, she whipped out her phone and went to her contacts. She scrolled through her few hundred contacts but didn’t see the number she’d been looking for, it was only when she began to get frustrated that she’d remembered she’d blacklisted that number and twenty more similar to it. With an aggravated sigh, she clicked on the number, hating on every second that the phone rang without an answer. And when the phone got caught off, she pinched the bridge of her nose in distress. Damn you Anthony, she cursed as she hit on the button again and waited. Anthony was in heaven. Well at least as close to heaven as he could get on earth. When his friends had introduced him to the girl, he hadn't been that interested. But she was still girl, and would always have ways to pleasure him and so he agreed to her company for the day. But goddamn! Had he known she was a wild little thing, he would've approached her a long time ago. Oh the pleasure she was giving him was downright sinful. Oh he was in heaven alright! The girl- lexi he seemed to remember she'd been called- withdrew from him. Annoyed he looked down at her in question, but she only looked at him with an irritated expression, her swollen lips in a pout. “Your phone has been going off for a while, can you just get it and get it done and over with?” She rolled her eyes, leaning back on the heels of her feet as she urged him. Her perky bosoms bounced at the movement and his eye’s immediately shifted to them. Almost in a trance he hurriedly nodded and reached under the pillow to get the phone he hadn’t even realized had been going off without bothering to check the contact info. “Hello?” His voice was husky and rushed, the unhappiness in his tone not hidden as he spat the words impatiently. Georgia took a second to collect herself, her heart pounding at the familiar voice of her foolish cousin. God this was real. She really was back in Moore and about to meet her family again. And for the hundredth time that hour alone she cursed Arthur from his ancestors to his future generations. “Hello?!” At the silence he’d received, Anthony growled out again, cursing whoever was at the end of the line interrupting him. “Anthony, it’s me.” She said, her voice bland and emotionless. There was a moment of silence, as Anthony abruptly stood up the bed in shock. “Alexia?!!” His voice was breathless and almost hopeful as he shouted into the speaker. Georgia stilled, her heart heavy with complicated emotions. She wanted to curse out loud, and smash something, but she managed to reign in her emotions. “No. It’s not her.” Her voice had cooled, as she spat. She didn’t even know why he would think it was her sister, and why he sounded so surprised if she had indeed been her, but she didn’t care the least. She wasn’t her sister. And she never would be. Anthony froze once again. This time noting the voice that had spoken. And though the female voice had indeed sounded like his cousin, light and airy, there was an undertone. Almost gravely and husky, soft and seductive. His heart hammered widely in his ribs as his mind raced, his blood heating and excitement churned in his belly. “Are you- are you Georgia?” He asked hopefully, wishing with all his being that it was indeed his favorite cousin that had disappeared almost ten years ago. “Uhm. Hello, Anthony. It’s been a while.” She closed her eyes, resting her forehead on the steering wheel. She realized, no matter how much she seemed to tell herself the contrary, she had indeed missed him. “Holy s**t! Georgia! s**t s**t!” He suddenly boomed a laugh, a wide grin splitting across his face. He couldn’t believe this, he simply couldn’t. Just when they desperately needed her, she came back, as if someone had wished upon her with a genie. “God Georgia where have you been? We looked everywhere for you! How are you?! God so much has happened georgie..Heavens! What happened to you Georgie?” His voice trembled as he spoke, raising a hand to smooth his hair. Georgia's throat tightened as she considered her response. She couldn't reveal the whole truth, not over the phone. "It's a long story, Anthony. I promise I'll explain everything when I see you. But right now, I'm on the outskirts of Moore, and I can't get into the city without some help. Can you meet me? I'll tell you everything then." “Of course of course, I’ll be right there.” He said, already looking around for his discarded clothes. “Okay, thanks.” Georgia said and hung up the call. There she’d done it now. She’s reached the point of no return. Wether she wished it or not, she was home. “Anthony!?” Lexi cries, looking at Anthony with wide befuddled eyes, as he jumped around the room a gleeful expression on his face as he hurriedly dressed up. “Oh. You.” Anthony deadpanned, finally remembering her presence. “Look I have to go, let’s continue this another time. Here, for your time.” He says, removing a wad of bills from his wallet without even checking, and he dumped it on the side table, and without waiting for her reply he hurriedly exited the hotel room, a spring to his step. “What the f*****g hell..” Lexi simply murmurs, hating herself for even asking him to answer the damned phone in the first place. But who could’ve called that made Anthony drop everything just to be with her? Who the f**k was Georgia?
