Chapter 5
“No Luke today?” Angel grinned at him as he came in for his shift. Kace smiled in return but didn’t respond. He’d woken before Luke, something he never did, and had gone up to shower and fix brunch. They hadn’t spoken about their late-night conversation, but Kace had watched his every move. When Luke stepped into his space, he hadn’t moved away.
“Perhaps he’ll come by later?” Angel raised an eyebrow in question.
“I don’t know, he didn’t say.”
“I think he will.”
Angel was right. A couple of hours into Kace’s shift, Luke appeared by the bar. He grinned at Kace as he sat on the same barstool as yesterday. “Hello, babe.”
Kace chuckled and shook his head. “What can I do you for, darling?” He winked, and Luke blushed.
