24. The Final Barn

1435 Words
I'm in bed again. Tre is doing something at the desk. We're still in Egypt. Tre is by my side so fast. "Go slow baby. It's been a hard day." "How long was I out?" "4 hours." "What happened Tre? I rejected Marcus? I don't get it. It wasn't me. I won't reject him. I love him." "I know baby. It's hard to understand. But he knows you're not going to reject him. He's ok." "But I reject him? I don't want to. He's mine." "That was the past baby, not the future." Tears fall out of my eyes. "I'll be right back baby." He comes back with Dipak and Marcus. I start bawling. "I don't understand." Dipak sits beside me and rubs my back. "It's a lot to understand sweetheart." Marcus kisses my head. "I'm ok. I found you to early. We're going to be together forever now. I'm never going anywhere. You're all mine." "Mine too." "That's what matters. Don't let the rest worry you." "But I did that to you. You should hate me." "I could never hate you. You were hiding our crowns from us. Epic game of hide and seek. Now you're mine." "I rejected you and hid your crown from you. I'm so sorry." "Woman, you couldn't stay. You had to go back. If you accepted the bond and died, I would have died with you. Then I wouldn't be here now. I had to stay, you had to leave. This is how me and you are together now. You were working to set up our life together." He kisses my head. "This life. Our life. You couldn't stay, baby. I know that now." "I wanted you." "I know little one. I wanted you too. But now we finally have each other." I launch myself at him and give him the biggest hug. "I love you." "I love you too." Tre hands me some juice and a plate of food. "I wonder if I've ever had more than one of you as a mate in a previous life. It seemed like it was always 1 at a time." Dipak smiles. "Maybe someday we'll find out. But that was crazy to watch. All those life times with you." "Where were you in that vision?" "Old town not far from my mountain. Why?" "I was hiding the crowns. I was there for some reason. Maybe your crown is there." "It's worth searching." "I had boobs." "Out of all that, that is what you are impressed with?" We laugh for a minute. "Let's go check out that village. I want to get out." Dipak stands up. "I need to go find the girls after that. They said they were going shopping 3 hours ago." "They're in Egypt?" "No, they left the office with Mary, Elkie, and Dorseti. Not real sure where they went. Probably to the village. I figured they were getting you some cakes. But it's been quite a while now." Tre puts his eyebrows up. Marcus shrugs his shoulders. "Well, Mary will connect with Kane if they need anything." "Yea, I shouldn't worry, they have Mary. Let's go to that village." We step into a falling down building. "This isn't what I expected." "I guess it's an abandoned town now." "Should be easy to search. We can fly around it." Dipak shakes his head. "Could still have people here. Be careful. At least at first." Most of the town has fallen. The grass, weeds, and flowers have taken over the paths and buildings. I run over to an abandoned house. It's got a big hole in the side of it and no doors. It's empty. Not one thing inside. I stroll down an old overgrown path and search a few other buildings. I find nothing. My boys are still looking around. They seem content. Dipak goes in a house and the whole thing collapses on him. Then the boards fly away from it and he stands up with dragon strength. He says something to Tre and Marcus, but I don't hear it. They laugh. I smile to myself. I love seeing them laugh. I wonder what Tye would be doing if he was here. I go in the next building. It's still together for the most part. I go up the steps and find some old clothes in a pile on a closet floor. I wonder what kind of people lived here. What they were like. I bet it was a family. It's a big house. "WOMAN, WHERE YOU AT?" I poke my head out the window. "UP HERE." I see the barn off in the distance. "Don't go upstairs. The whole house could fall down. Get back down here." I roll my eyes and go down to him. He wraps me in his arms and smacks my butt. "Don't roll your eyes either." Then he rubs my butt and gives me a kiss. "We're going to fly around. You want to keep searching or fly around?" "I'll fly. I don't think there's anything here." "Yea, I think it's been abandoned for a long time. I'll take Nadine and we'll go that way. You 2 north." "Why don't we fly to the barn?" I point in the direction of it. "You know where it is?" "Yea it's over there." I point again. "I can't see it. But it's over there." "Well, let's just go to the barn then." We turn to dragons and fly. Then I sit down outside. "What baby?" "It's hard to believe I was here before. In another life, Tre." Then we search. I pull the board off the wall like I did for Tye's crown. I throw it down and feel tears come into my eyes. "SHIT." Dipak turns into a dragon right before he hits the ground. "Ceiling or roof. Magic is definitely blocked high." "I bet I cussed a lot when I hid these." Tre nods. "I'm sure you did." Dipak looks around. "Let's figure out where exactly the magic is blocked. Which side, how high up we can fly." "Let us search the roof. You search in here. But don't fly." "Ok." The boys go outside and fly around. I go to the dead center of the floor and sit down. I feel like digging. There are square cut-outs on the floor. They are weird. Out of place. It's like the floor was cut and then replaced. I try to pick at one of the seams, but it's really sealed. "GOT IT." I wonder how long I was staring at the ground. I look out the big open barn doors. Like the whole side is open. I can see the boys, and Marcus has the black box. I go towards him. Then I get blocked somehow. I can't leave the barn. It's an invisible wall. I watch the boys as the box opens and falls apart. Marcus hits his knees and opens the cloth. I smile and watch the tears fall out of his eyes. Tre picks it up and puts it on his head. I smack the invisible wall. They run over and none of them can get in either. Then the floor shakes. I sit down and the whole barn shakes. I think I'm going to get stuck in this thing. It's going to collapse on me. Tre points behind me. A table rises out of the ground. With 4 statues. 2 on each side of the table. They nearly look like real people. They each have their hands folded in front of them with a sword in them. The first 1 to the right of the table has Dipak's crown on it. Once the floor stops shaking, I stand up. I can't get out, and the boys can't get in. I try to talk to them and they can't hear me. I can see Dipak is starting to panic. I try to connect the feathers, and they don't work. There's a stone on the table. I know I'm about to have a vision. I reach out and take the stone. I'm suddenly looking at myself. Not in a vision. I'm actually seeing myself. I have straight dark purple hair with bangs. But it's me. I'm also dressed really sexy. I'm in a dirty human dress from playing in the village and barn. My hair is probably a mess. "I'm you. You're not crazy. I'm from the future. Maybe 10000 years. The rock summoned me. Dipak's crown is a fight." My eyes must get huge. She touches the statue with Dipak's crown on it. It turns into Dipak from the future.
