Artemisia

I never imagine I could disclose to my boss and his brother about my traumatic past . They both hugged me , it felt sweet of them . I felt some peace . I hardly open up about myself , I am not a huge fan of pity party .

I had a wierd feeling before I slept , despite my thoughts on what happened earlier today , his body on mine the heat gushing in . His blue eyes said a lot . Is he the reason Mike said he wouldn't kiss me and make me his , does my boss like me as much as I do , his presence makes my nerves rise and my body stiffen , will he even like a virgin? Or even a girl with nothing as myself ? All this questions were bubbling in my head .

The next day I woke up with a terrible headache my entire body was weak and hot , I looked at the mirror and saw dark circles around my eyes . I had a fever , I knew sleeping with windows open was a bad idea. I tried my best to work admist the pauses to take some rest , by noon my state was getting worse , I couldnt stand for long , my body was so hot , I was shivering , I couldnt eat anything I lost my appetite . My lips were drying up .My eyes were watery and red .

" Artemisia are you okay?" Mike asked .

" yea .. just tired am good " I replied . My boss had left for an early meeting . He came back in the afternoon , I need to pull up a strong act or I may lose my job . I took coffee to his study , Mike was on a phone call . My hands were shaking , my boss looked at me with a concerned look .

"Artemisia you alright?" He asked .

" yes .. sir .. I am .l please excuse me " I said and walked out , I felt a sour taste in my mouth , I ran to the bathroom and puked . My body was hot . I saw the pool an idea came into my mind .

I decided to place my legs in the pool to cool my body a little , I removed my shoes , and stockings , I sat at the edge and placed my legs in the pool a very bad idea. I was getting weaker and weaker by the minute . I stood up to leave and take a rest in my bed , before I could take a step away from the pool beneath me , I lost my strength and balance a loud splashing sound next thing I saw was darkness .

Enrique' 

  Artemisia walked into my study with a cup of coffee she looked so pale , her eyes  looked red with puffy dark   circles ,  her  hands were shaking .  Her lips were dry .

" Is she really okay?  " Mike asked  after she left .

" I doubt  " I said , I was starting to feel worried about her .

" I got a  call about  your reservation to Bora Bora  , the one you booked three weeks ago " he said . Oh ! Yeah! Three weeks ago I had made plans to go on a two week  vacation with Kate  to try and make things work   for the relationship , she really insisted BoraBora   it was her dream destination  I had made a romantic couples reservation . Now we have  broken up I have to have it cancelled despite how expensive it was.

" cancel it  " I said.

" Its impossible Enrique' I already told him you are set to go in the next two days ." he said .

"You what! But Kate and I broke up" I replied. He had a wierd smirk on his face , Oh no  Mike !

" when you make that face something's up , dont tell I dont want to know"I said .

  " come on  bro, take her with you , she would love a vacation  too you, know consider it an act of kindness" he said . I will think about it . Speaking of Artemisia where is she , I had a sick feeling  .

" something isnt right " I said and walked out .

" Artemisia !" I called out , no response, Mike checked in her room she wasnt there  my concern was growing .

"Artemisia !"I called  still no response , I searched in the kitchen . My heart was beating rapidly , I walked out to the  backyard ,  and saw her stockings and shoes near the pool my eyes shifted to the pool .Oh !No ! No! I took off my shoes and dived into the pool ,I found her and got her out of the pool she was unconscious and pale and laid her on the floor , she wasnt breathing. I performed a CPR on her she wasnt responding .

"Please baby wake up , dont leave " I said my voice was shaking my eyes were teary ,  I did a mouth to mouth  she was still unresponsive she had no pulse . I wont give up . Mike stood  frozen in shock at the horror of her lifeless body.

" please baby wake up , I need you " I said  desperately . Mike placed his hand on my shoulder   he had tears in his eyes , tears poured  down my cheeks. Shes gone , shes dead. Its all my fault .

" am so sorry .. baby" I said crying .  I held her lifeless body to my chest as I kissed her soft wet hair.

I laid her down , I planted a kiss on her lips  and walked out to call 911 to report  an incident Mike followed me  his had on my shoulder as her he began to sob , shes dead ! I took a glass and smashed it as I raked my hair with my fingers. I was so angry  .I was in my minibar

" shes dead its all my fault" I said angrily . I was so angry at myself  I will never live with this .

"She drowned its not your fault brother ." He said .

"Ofcourse it is shes dead its all my fault she was sick , I  was  not concerned"I said . I turned and faced the wall , her sweet face , gorgeous smile  now cold and lifeless all because of me.  My brother hugged me .  Artemisia was not just my employee she was so special to me a kind heart despite how cruel  I was towards her where was Rex and the boys? Hes surely getting fired  . We heard a sound of something breaking like a glass. It came from  the kitchen  dont tell  me the racoons came for a visit .  I headed to the kitchen  Mike followed me.

What I saw was beyond  my imagination . This cant be, my jaw dropped , Mike had  his hands above his head .
