Prologue

After ensuring that my garments were not wrinkled, I adjusted my posture. I was clothed in a basic sundress that I had purchased with my first salary as a waitress. My long, curly hair was wrapped in a high ponytail, exposing my petite neck, which everyone thought was an asset because it was attractive. My thin lips, which were covered by ruddy lipstick, curled into a small smile as I thought I looked pretty. With this beautiful, small face, the Alpha will not easily reject me as his future Luna. I looked several times at the iron gate leading into the vast pack house. The knot and unexplained feelings in my stomach showed how nervous I was. This is my first time being here, and thinking about that, I feel like I was in a dream. Their pack was well-known in this town because of their affluence and impressive background. It wasn't the first time I'd seen the Alpha, as he frequently visited the pub near where I work to drink or unwind. I came from a different pack. As I am an orphan, my aunt raised me when I was a pup. When my aunt left this world due to her incurable illness, I decided to leave the house to chase my own life outside of our pack, which our Alpha allowed. I am already twenty years old and have not yet met my mate, as I don’t have a chance to attend the mating ball once a year. I always thought that my mate would come and find me. "You are sexy and gorgeous…" I can still hear his raspy voice, which made me bite my bottom lip. The sensation of being owned and claimed by him is unrivaled. I can say that even though it was my first time meeting him, I felt as if I'd known him for a long time. Every touch of his hand against my naked body drives me insane. I couldn't help but let out a faint moan and close my eyes while he was continuously claiming my body that night. My joyful smile escaped my lips once more. The only thing I knew about him was his name, Alpha Hunter, and his pack’s name, Moonray. He's currently unmarried and seeking a partner to become his Luna, who will help him lead the pack in the future. Isn't it fate? Meeting him at this very time. "Would I be the one he's looking for? Hopefully," I whispered to the wind, unable to stop dreaming of being his wife. As I took a few more steps, I couldn't stop twitching and felt dizzy. Before I left the house, I had memorized what I was going to say to Alpha Hunter, but now that I'm here and I'm about to face him, it's as if I've forgotten everything. All I can hear now is the rapid beat of my heart. Dixie Alyson is my name. I am twenty years old. Alpha Hunter and I had a one-night stand, and as a result, I became pregnant. I didn't want to tell him, but all I could think about was the fate of our pup. I don't want our future child to hate him. I'm just a low-level she-wolf, and he might reject me right away, but I'll give it a shot. There's nothing wrong with trying, right? "Who are you?" I swiftly turned around to see Monroe, the beta of their pack house. I have recognized him since he was in the pub with the Alpha Hunter. He is constantly with him, regardless of where he goes. He is doing his responsibility well. He looks friendly and kind. When I didn't respond, he gave me the impression that I shouldn't be afraid. I gave him a genuine smile, the most friendly one. Perhaps if I could be on his good side, he could help me talk with the Alpha. "I'm Dixie," I happily replied, stretching my right hand as if it were our first meeting. I'll make sure he likes me enough to help me with my problem. It's been a month since I've seen them. "Do you think I can talk to the Alpha for a moment? I have something important to tell him." Suddenly, his eyes became serious. His bright smile was gone too. His friendly smiles also vanished, and suspicious looks took their place. "Why? What do you need from him? You can tell me about it, and I will relay your message to him." I shook my head. That's not possible. I want to be the one to tell him because I want to know his reaction too. "Uh, is he busy?" I asked, not minding his tone or offer. "Yes, he is. He doesn't have time to prioritize unimportant things. And the one who has no value." What he said wounded me a little. I want to slap him with the fact that I'm pregnant and their Alpha is the father. I just didn't do it because I didn't think I'd gain anything from it but pain and hatred. "When do you expect him to have spare time?" I asked again, even though I knew he would get angry, "I just really need to talk to him." He stood there staring at me for a bit. His eyes shone brightly as he realized something. "Wait, you don't mean to tell me that news of his selection for a future Luna has reached you? So do you want to apply? You will not qualify," he stated in disbelief. "Come on, a lowly she-wolf and a waitress will be our renowned Alpha's Luna? No way. That is simply not possible. Dream on," he declared in a humiliated tone. Despite what he stated, I kept my feelings to myself. I chose to remain silent and refused to go until I received what I wanted. He appears to have forgotten that I've known Alpha Hunter for quite some time. "Fine, Lady! You must complete the form and come back here in three days. At that time, Alpha Hunter will be able to speak with you and get to know you, determining whether you have the qualities to be our future Luna." I smiled happily as I handed him the paperback. That's a wonderful sign since I got something out of coming here rather than nothing.
