CHAPTER 4
ALYSSA EDWARDS
I went around looking for jobs the next day, refusing to go to school because I really needed a job right now. That Ferrari guy really has succeeded in ruining my life and it hurt so bad.
I entered a coffee shop and saw two many waitresses wiping tables and that was when I was indirectly told they weren't hiring so I took a seat and ordered a cup of black coffee. It was cold outside but I felt so hot inside and with my flimsy hoodie and yoga pants. I should've known and expected something like that from him. That's what conceited and billionaires are good for. They only ruin people's lives and nothing else.
I wiped a tear and sipped my coffee.
How was I going to tell my aunt and uncle that I lost that temporary job? Who was going to hire me again?
I decided to go use the bathroom for a second and when I came back, there was a guy sitting on my table, reading the file I had on my table. The file was my résumé!
I rushed there to the guy, seriously engrossed in my résumé, and snatched the paper from him.
"What the hell... " I realized who it was.
It was the Ferrari guy.
My heart skipped a beat thinking of what he might want. If he wanted me to pay for the damage to his car, I didn't even have a dime on me.
Well, I repaid that with my job so... It was something.
He grinned at me.
"What do you want now?"
"How are you going to get a job with such a casual résumé? About eighty percent of people looking for jobs have résumés filled with the same nonsense as yours. It's tiring reading through the same thing over and over again." He retorted exasperatedly, pulling off his necktie. He was in a neat suit and he looked too odd for a place like this. He looked so tired so I didn't push it.
I plopped onto a chair in front of him since it was my table.
"What are you doing here? Are you stalking me?"
"I am glad I am not. My company's building is just here." He pointed at a tall building about two blocks away.
"I came for a break. I wanted to stretch a bit and look who I found. I think we're meant to be." He laughed at that.
"What do you want from me?" I didn't get his humor.
"Are you looking for a job?" He questioned his eyes boring into mine making me feel so uncomfortable, staring back into his hazel eyes.
"It's none of your business." I snapped, taking a sip of my coffee.
He sighed, running a hand through his neatly combed dyed blonde hair.
"I know I took it too far the other time, Alyssa Edwards... "
"How did you get to know my name?" I regretted saying that when I realized my name was boldly plastered on the resume.
He shrugged like it wasn't strange.
"I'm willing to make it up to you but it's going to be on conditions." He stated calmly.
"Make it up to me?"
"Yes. Big time. I'll settle you with some money. I'll give you half a million for that service." He said.
"What service? I am not going to sleep with you, Mister. You know what? I don't even know why I am here having such a conversation with you." I stood up grabbing my stuff.
"Someone needs to pay for the Ferrari damage, don't you think, Alyssa Edwards?"
His words made me stop in my tracks.
I turned and he was smiling so wide in the chair.
"I did not do anything to your car. In fact, you were the one who almost damaged my bike. is it my fault that that expensive car has no strength against my bike?"
He nodded. "I guess we'd have to call the police into this one, don't we?"
I gasped and hurried back to the table. Frank, aunt, and uncle were going to kill me if they knew this was what I had done but where was I going to get the money to pay that? I know he had said that the car can buy me and give him change and I do believe that because at this moment, I didn't have the money for it.
"Think about it and let me know, okay?"
I watched him rise to his feet and walk out of the cafeteria.
What was I going to do?
