10. A normal day

Today morning I woke up with a huge smile on my face. Nina and Harriet were still sleeping right beside me while Linn was still on the couch and Priya was nowhere to be seen in the room. Yesterday night after Leo asked me out, the others came in and we had a movie night with lots of popcorn and pizzas.
I finally make my way down to hear soft music playing in the kitchen. Priya had her back facing me while she was making something.
"What are you doing?", I ask her and she abruptly turns around and places a hand on her heart.
"You scared the s**t out of me Hazel!", she exclaims while trying to get her breathing under control.
"I'm sorry for startling you", I smile sheepishly while she playfully glares at me.
"Its okay. I was just making breakfast for us, hope you don't mind me invading you kitchen".
"Of course not. I was just about to do that. You need any help?"
"No I am almost done. So, why are up so early?"
"Shouldn't I be asking you that? Its sunday and you still got up way early".
"I am used to it by now. You now, when I was living in India, we used to get up at six i the morning and start with our household chores. Mom never let me sleep till late but things changed when we moved here but I couldn't change my habit".
"Oh that's something I guess. What are you making anyway?"
"Its an Indian dish that we usually make for breakfast. I thought you people can use something different to eat and the guys love it anyway. I hope you don't mind", she smiles nervously at me, gawking at my reaction.
"Absolutely. I love to try different cuisines".
"That's great. This is one is made of potatoes and wheat dough. I hope you like it. By the way I ransacked your cupboards but I promise I will put everything in their place", she says while a sheepish smile and I laugh out loud.
That's okay. Let me give you a hand with it", saying so we cleaned the entire kitchen. The others entered the living room and the guys came into the kitchen.
"Please tell me it is what I think it is", John says while taking in the aroma in the kitchen.
"Yes John. Now, help me with the plates while Hazel you go and wake up the queens who are still sleeping", she shoos me away and I laugh while nodding my head.
As I am about to climb the stairs, Leo comes down. He looks fresh and his hair are still wet telling me that he just took a shower.
"Good morning Hazel", he says softly while kissing my forehead. I remember yesterday night and blush covers me cheeks. He laughs and looks at me from head to toe.
"You know, you look more adorable in pajamas', he says and winks at me making me laugh.
"Yeah, I have been told that before", I say and he raises an eyebrow and just laugh and make my way towards my room but his hand gets a hold on mine before I could go any further.
"Where is my good morning wish?", he asks with a raised eyebrow.
"Good morning Leo", I say while looking at him in the eye and then kiss him on the cheek while he just laughs and leaves me.
"I'll be downstairs in a minute. Don't let the guys finish all the food, okay?"
"Yes ma'am", he mock salutes me and goes towards the living room.
I open the door to my room where Linn is still asleep while Nina and Harriet are just waking up.
"Get up you three. Priya has already made breakfast and if you don't want the boys to finish everything, I suggest you get your asses out now", I yell loudly while the three groan loudly and Nina throws a pillow at me which I dodge easily.
"Come you guys, get the hell up", I shake Linn vigorously while she grunts and swats my hand away.
"I am up. Leave me alone Hazel", she says and I laugh.
Harriet and Nina emerge from the bathroom and look at me with narrowed eyes.
"You look exceptionally happy today? What's going on?", Harriet asks while Nina grabs a hold of my hand and drags me to the bed and makes me sit at the edge while the both of them stare at me while I blush.
"Spill right now", Nina says in a threatening voice while Linn too joins them.
"Leo asked me out on date yesterday", I finally tell them they all squeal while Nina still looks dubious.
"And we kissed", the three of them looked elated at this statement and hug me tightly.
"I knew it! You guys look so cute together. I shipped you both since I first met you", Linn says while I laugh trying to cover the blush that's forming on my cheeks again.
"Okay let's go downstairs before the boys hobble up all the food", Harriet and says and we make our way down while laughing loudly.
"Finally. I thought it would take an eternity for you guys to come down", Jason says while the boys nod in agreement.
"You wanna know what took us so long?", Nina questions while looking at me with a sinister smile and I groan silently.
"Not really but we know you will tell us anyway", Mark remarks which earns him a slap on the back of his head by Linn.
"Hazel and Leo are going on a date!", Harriet exclaims and everyone turns to look at us. Priya hugs me tightly while the guys hoot and cheer like they just won a freaking match.
"It's not even a big deal guys", Leo says while Mark puts his arm around him.
"Of course it is. We are just glad you made the right choice this time round. I hated tha Stacy b***h anyway", Mark says and everyone nods in agreement.
"Okay lets eat now, I am starving", I say while filling up my plate with the food that looks delicious and smells fantastic.
"Yeah lets", with that everyone starts eating while talking about anything and everything.
Leo looks at me with his beautiful smile and I smile back with the same happiness that radiates from his eyes.
After breakfast everyone left to go home. We decided to meet tomorrow at the school a little early to discuss about the biology test that we have in the second period. Leo kissed me after everyone left and told me that he would take me out on Thursday evening. He did not tell me about the whereabouts of our date but told me it would be fun and I would love it.
Later in the evening, my parents and Ace came back from my grandparents house. My grandma sent me some homemade chocolate chip cookies and some gifts.
"So, how was clubbing? Did the boys protect you girls?", that's the first question my dad asks when we sit to talk like we always do.
"Yes dad. It was really fun", I say while rolling my eyes and a small smiles appears on my face while thinking about what happened after.
"Why are you smiling?", Mom asks while looking at me suspiciously.
"Nothing at all", I say way too quickly while the three set of eyes look at me and I just cannot lie anymore.
"Leo asked me out on a date", I tell them and my mom squeals and hugs me to her.
"Finally my baby girl is going out on a date. When and where are you going?", she asks while dad and Ace both look at me, expectantly.
"We are going on Thursday evening and I don't know where. He didn't tell me", I say while blushing profusely.
"I will help you get dressed. I will come early that day, I promise", she says while taking my hand in hers and squeezing it tightly.
"I want to meet him before you guys go. I am gonna have to make sure he is good enough for you", dad says while looking at me. Dad has always been very protective of me as he likes to say that I am his baby girl and he doesn't want any harm to come to me.
"Okay but only if you promise me to not scare him away", I say while I sit on the arm of his chair and hug him.
"No promises baby girl", He says with a smile and we all laugh at his possessiveness.
"Hazel, can you help me with my biology homework, please?", Ace asks with puppy dog eyes which he knows I can never say no to.
"Sure, lets go".
After helping Ace with his homework I make my way to my room and flop down on too the bed and reach for my phone. There is a message from Leo saying that he already misses me and I laugh at his choice of emojis.
We talk for a while and then I finally go to sleep with the thoughts about my upcoming date and Leo.
