HANNAH POV
“Can I ask what you wanted me to call you for?” I asked.
“I called to tell you that I will not be coming to yours and Noah’s birthday party, my official Alpha ceremony is tomorrow with the moon being full.” Cory says.
“Please tell me the reason you are not coming from America isn’t because of last year.” I say sadly.
“You always celebrate with us just like we do for you, we fly from London to LA for you.” I say.
“Princess, I would give anything to be by your side tomorrow on your birthday.” Cory says.
“Can I video call you tomorrow?” Cory asked.
“Yeah, of course, when will you be able to visit us?” I asked.
“I will be with you in two days, that I can promise you.” Cory says.
“Okay, I will miss you Cory.” I say sadly.
“I miss you too, I have a surprise for you when I get there okay?” Cory says.
“Okay.” I say excitedly.
“Alpha duty’s call. Love you princess.” Cory says.
“Love you too Cory.” I say.
We hang up the phone and I feel even worse than I did last week when I stopped talking to him.
“You’re sad?” Noah asked.
“Of course I am you dope, I love him, I didn’t want him not to come, we have all been friends since we were babies, he always visits from America for our birthday, it just won’t be the same without him.” I say.
“I know.” Noah says.
A few seconds of silence before Noah asks
“Why do you wind him up so much?”
“You wouldn’t get it, I mainly do it because it’s funny and it’s even funnier now because his Alpha roar has come in, but the other reason I do it, it’s because I am just trying to protect myself.” I say.
“We did see him two weeks ago.” Noah says.
“I know, I will just wait until he gets here.” I say.
I feel tears prick my eyes as much as I was dreading seeing him, I will always have a soft spot for him.
“I’m sure he feels the same way you do Anna.” Noah says.
I half smile at Noah.
Noah turns to leave but before he does he says “I guess I better learn how to match my socks considering I officially become the Alpha tomorrow.”
I laugh as he walks away to the pack house.
I head into my room and mope about until I finally decide to shower and get into my pyjamas.
A few hours go by.
“Hannah dinner is ready.” My mom called from the other side of the door.
“I’m not hungry.” I call back to her.
“Hannah, it’s Lace, can I come in?” Lacey asked.
“Yeah, sure.” I say.
I unlock the door and let Lacey in.
“Anna, are you okay?” Lacey asked.
“Yeah, I am fine.” I say.
“Do you want to talk about Cory?” Lacey asked.
“No, I have better things to do.” I say.
“Watching Devin Caherly videos on YouTube doesn’t count.” Lacey says.
“What about on Tik Tok?” I asked.
“No, that doesn’t count either.” Lacey says.
“But I like his videos, they make me laugh.” I say.
Lacey gives me a funny look.
“I will talk later when I am finished watching these videos.” I say.
“What happened between you and Cory?” Lacey asked.
“Nothing, you know how much I love him, I just wanted him to be here with me.” I say.
“Now please, just leave me alone.” I say.
I hear Lacey leave the room.
“f**k!” I say, I hate upsetting my best friend.
I must have fell asleep because I am awoken by loud sounds.
I ran out of my room and ran into Noah.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
“We are about to find out.” Noah says as we walk outside together.
“So you don’t know either then.” I say.
Noah taps the side of his nose twice, meaning he knows and I am about to find out.
We watch as the airplane land and within a few seconds of it landing Cory gets off the airplane.
“Cory.” I whisper.
CORY POV
I see Hannah and my heart jerks a little bit.
“Hey!” I shout as I wave to them.
I am not ready for the lecture from Hannah considering I lied to her.
“Cory!” My mum calls me back.
“Yeah mum.” I say.
“Don’t forget Hannah and Noah’s gifts.” My mum says.
“I will grab them later mum.” I say.
All I wanted to do was see Hannah.
“What am I doing here?” I say to myself.
I only broke up with my ex girlfriend yesterday and I only broke up with her because Hannah turned eighteen.
“Hannah is going to kill me.”
I really like Hannah though, and I hope and prey to the moon goddess that she is my mate.
I am going to brave it and ask her to be with me even if she isn’t my mate.
HANNAH POV
I squeal in delight and run to Cory.
“What are you doing here? You said you wasn’t coming.” I say as I jump into his arms.
Fuck his arms have gotten bigger since he has become the Alpha.
“Well it was meant to be a surprise.” Cory looks at his watch “but Happy eighteenth birthday princess.” Cory says.
“Thank you…”
We are interrupted by smells.
I hug Cory and he pushes my hair behind my ear and whispers in my ear his voice more husky than usual “Hey mate.”
I watch as the golden glow swirls around us.
I feel the mate bond, my wolf starts jumping for joy, “WE HAVE A MATE!” My wolf cry’s through my head.
“Our mate.” I whisper.
“Where did that voice come from?” I asked Cory.
“It was hot.” I say.
I sniff the air once more and I can smell fresh lemons it fills the air surrounding us.
Cory leans over my lips for a few moments.
I lean a little bit closer waiting for him to kiss me and finally he places his lips on mine and kisses me like the whole world has just melted away.
The kiss was deep passionate and full of emotions that we have both been feeling.
We both pull away catching our breath.
“Oh, Hannah-Leigh, I really have missed you.” Cory says.
“I have missed you too Cory.” I say.
That’s when I feel the guilt starting to eat me alive.
Will he leave Lilyanna for us?
I was so jealous of Lilyanna, I loved Cory and she got her claws in first.
Maybe I am just being childish but I can’t believe he picked her over me.
“What about Lilyanna?” I ask.
“We are not together.” Cory says.
“Good.” I say as I lean in to kiss him again.
Everything was sweet and perfect up until I realised that our family’s are standing right behind us.
“I am glad I broke up with her now.” Cory says.
“Me too.” I whisper as Cory shivers under my breath.
Cory kissed me again before placing me down and I couldn’t help but fall in love with him all over again.
“Your lips taste divine.” Cory says.
I bite my lip, it’s so hard to control myself, I have waited so long for this day, he makes me want to pull my pants down and mate right now.
I notice two bite marks on his neck, someone already marked him.
I look into his eyes and they hold pain and regret but is it really worth asking him what happened.
I decided to keep it to myself for now.
