Chapter 001

1142 Words
Anastasia’s POV It’s been two days since that incident and I haven’t seen Aiden, my mate and my husband. He didn’t come home, neither did he picked any of my calls or texted a reply to my countless texts. At this rate, I was worried and have decided to go to his company. I glanced at my test results one last time before walking out of the house. I was feeling a bit sick for the past one week and I had just decided to go for a test and of all test the doctor ran, my pregnancy tested positive. I was five weeks pregnant and I wanted to tell Aiden this big news but how could I when he's avoiding me like this? I arrived there, only to be blocked out by his secretary, saying the Alpha doesn’t want to see anyone, including me. I barged in regardless, daring him to hurt me if I refused to obey that order. He was silenced and had no choice as I already pushed myself in with all the strength I could muster against him. “What the hell is the commotion out there?” Aiden’s cold voice boomed in the air, sending chills right down my spine. “Forgive me, Alpha. I tried to stop her…” “Enough! Just leave” he said and the poor guy walked out of the office immediately. I returned my attention to Aiden who didn’t seem to give a s**t about my presence. When the silence grew too suffocating, I spoke. “You didn’t come home for the past two days, why?” I asked softly and he stilled. I could sense the dark aura that immediately surrounded him but I didn’t feel the least bit intimidated. He was angry but I wouldn’t back down unless he gives me the answers I want. “Why? Do I need a reason not to go to my own house?” he retorted and I swallowed the hurtful lump that grew in my throat. “But, you should have called, tell me you were busy and that you wouldn’t be coming ho…” I trailed off when he threw a stack of papers right to my face. “What is this?” I demanded with a confused look on my face as I pulled out the papers from its stack. “That’s our divorce agreement, sign them” he said in a steely tone and I flinched backwards. “I’m not signing a divorce” I retorted immediately, dropping the documents on his enormous desk. “You have no choice here, young lady. You either sign them on your own or we do it the very hard way. And you wouldn't like it” he growled, his aura darkening cruelly. I blinked back my perspiration, struggling to be as rational as possible. “I won’t sign those papers. Not until I know why I’m getting a divorce and accepted my mistakes” I yelled, trying my best to hide my nervousness and the tiny pants that escaped me. “You of all people know very well what you’re guilty of, or should I remind you in details?” he asked but I refused to back down. “You can’t ruin me like this…” I trailed off and he scoffed bitterly. “You were already ruined the moment you decided to cheat on me with someone far beneath me” he spat, each of his words like a sharp dagger piercing deep into my heart. “I didn’t cheat on you, Aiden, I promise you. It was a setup and you know it” I cried, a note of desperation in my voice. “That stupid lies about Estel setting you up again? You could have come up with a better lie, you scheming slut” he chuckled to himself, then continued. “You know, I never expected you of all women in the world to do this. I had sincerely hoped you were different and was willing to go to any lengths for you but you betrayed me, Anastasia. You betrayed our bond. You proved yourself to be nothing but a cheap w***e" he said without blinking. "That’s why no one wants you, and the truth is no one would ever want a skimpy w***e like you” he said with disgust and a lone tear escaped my eyes. “Smack!!” the room echoed with the loud sound of my hand hitting him hard across his face, leaving a crimson patch on his cheek which immediately disappeared. However the fury in his eyes remained there. For a split second, the office was dead silent that the sound of a needle dropping could be heard. I saw the shock in his eyes and I understood it perfectly because in all our two years of marriage, I have never much as raise my voice at him. I would rather apologize even if I wasn’t guilty and then spend the entire night bawling my eyes out. Aiden was still immersed in awe and I took a step back, gazing defiantly into his raging hazel eyes. He had no rights to mention my past when he knew how much it hurts me to recall those incidents. And to think, he was even doing this over a crime I didn’t commit. All of a sudden, his eyes narrowed dangerously. “How dare you, Anastasia Wesley. Do you seriously have a death wish?” he thundered and as if possessed by a demon, he grabbed me up by my collar to match his intimidating height. “Nobody, I mean no f*****g body dares to go against me. Whoever does is crushed to complete ruins by me. That includes you, Anastasia!” he points out, his eyes darkening with fury. His grip on my collar tightened and I began to choke, finding it difficult to breath but he didn’t care. My nails clawed at his hands, attempting to pull him off but he was just too strong. From his expression, I could see he was struggling with his emotions. Emotions I could never decipher. After trying for a long minute to escape his grip, I gave up, my hands slumping to my sides and with tears soaked eyes, I waited patiently for death but he abruptly let go and I stumbled backwards, hitting my back against the wall, hard. I suppressed a cry as a sharp pain gripped my waist and a side of my stomach. I slid to the cold ground, helpless and panting heavily as I wrapped my arms around my stomach protectively. “You have only forty eight hours, Anastasia. Forty eight hours to sign that document and disappear from my life, forever.” He said and the door slammed with a loud bang as he stormed out of the office.
