Chapter 9
At the Trauma Center, an alarm blares. Throughout the locked-down floor, police move from room-to-room. The medical team searches for Julie and Parker. They check their files and discover that the backup person is General Taylor. Dr. Aguirre telephones him.
“Sir, Julie Underwood and Admiral Parker have gone missing. Are you aware of this?”
“I am, doctor. My men and I removed them. They are now en route to the base hospital.”
“But . . . we didn’t release either patient. They weren’t ready for transport. You could endanger their lives.”
“Doctor, you had them in a bugged room. A medical bay in which the President of the United States spoke of classified matters. He left here and, mysteriously, a Marine One helicopter flew into a mountainside. I can’t help but think that his fin
