Chapter 2

Vivienne's POV I never thought that there would be a day when I would feel this dejected. I lost my mother when I was five, and I met my stepmother not long after. In just a year, I met Ava. I always thought of us to be close to each other. Yes, my stepmother was cruel to me and proved to everyone that I was nothing. Dad never, for once, defended me, either. I did not know how I could get out of the pack house, but I did, and I found myself in a local café. I felt like drinking until I forgot I had no one, but I needed my friend first. She arrived moments later with a worried look on her face. Long gone, the pain I felt from being separated from my mate. I was angry. I didn't know how to vent. I didn't know how to get rid of it the anger that was rising inside of me with each passing second. "I always knew Ava was a terrible person, but I never thought she was going to go this far." Ruby, my best friend, told me. Truth be told, I also shared that thought with her. Ava was terrible, and I knew her to have eyes for anything that I found fascinating, but I did not think she would have eyes for my mate too and even went as far as sleeping with him just to secure him. "Coffee please." Ruby told a server who was passing by. He smiled and walked away. "I don't need coffee. I need wine. I need to forget today happened." I told her. The television that was hung at the side for everyone to have a view of quickly grabbed everyone's attention. I dragged my eyes to it, and it did not take long for me to understand what the fuss was about. The pack news was on, and the Alpha was at the front lines. Videos of him being escorted out of the airport were displayed. "Breaking news, folks! We've just received word that Alpha Tristan has returned from his extended journey! And to mark this momentous occasion, we're thrilled to announce that a welcome back party is in the works! Join us as we celebrate Alpha Tristan's homecoming in style! Details of the party are still under wraps, but rest assured, it'll be a howling good time! Stay tuned for more updates, and let's give a warm welcome back to our beloved Alpha Tristan!” the journalist said, and everyone began clapping. My eyes rested on Alpha Tristan, who had, as usual, a calm look on his face. He was not one to smile easily, but his face was god-like. Alpha Tristan was a powerful Alpha. Loved by everyone in the pack because of his kind heart towards us. He cared for his people and in return; we care for him, too. Just as my eyes were locked on him, an idea popped into my head. A sly smile appeared on my face as I turned to Ruby. "What is that for?” she smiled, and my eyes revealed what mischievous plan I had come up with. I refused to say anything, but used my eyes to point at the television. Ruby followed my eyesight with confusion, but then her eyes widened when she realized what I was up to. "No,” she said. "Oh, yes." I said, grabbing her by the arm and pulling her up. What I had planned was not something I could do sober. I needed wine, and I needed a lot. The moment we arrived at a bar, I ordered shots upon shots. Ruby tried making me slow down, but I did not and was not planning to. "I need to go, Vi. And you can't be here alone." she told me when it became dark. I shook my head with a slight hum. "I'm not leaving. I need to do it." I told her. "That is dangerous, Vi. Alpha Tristan would kill you." she sounded worried. "I'm going to take my chances." I told her. She sighed. I had already decided, and there was no going back now. "Do you need me to help you?” Ruby asked. "No,” I shook my head. "I'll find my way.” She sighed once again, then hugged me. "Please be alive by tomorrow." she whispered with a dull smile before leaving me. It was only an hour later did I leave the bar. In a way, I felt maybe I should have asked Ruby for help. I kept staggering with each step I took. When I got to the main gate, I paused. I could not go through there. The guards would stop me, or they would report my presence to Alpha Tristan, worse than Scott. I could let nothing ruin my plan. I moved away from there, going through the back. There is a secret door there for emergencies. A code is used to unlock it and fortunately, I knew this code thanks Scott. Once in the mansion, I staggered my way through the hallways, trying to avoid every guard I spotted. Just as I approached the Alpha's bedroom, I spotted a guard on the other side of the hallway. My eyes widened, and I darted it around. The door was only a few steps away from where I stood. There was no other place to hide. I had to take the risk. The guard had his back to me, so I moved closed to the wall, careful not to make any noise. Just as he was about to turn around, I turned the knob of the Alpha's door and slipped in. Placing my back on the shut door, I tried to steady my breathing. My chest rose and fell, and I shut my eyes. When I felt calm enough, I fluttered my eyes open, and I was met with darkness. With Maya's eyes, I could see him. Alpha Tristan. He has his eyes closed, and his chest rose and fell calmly. He was asleep. Slowly, I approached him, still staggering. I had taken too many wines. Just as I got to the side of his bed, a hiccup escaped my lips. I quickly covered my lips, watching Alpha Tristan closely. I slowly got on the bed, eyes never peeling away from him. I have never been close to him. He was handsome in pictures and videos, but he was more like a god, closely. Everything about his face was well-defined. My eyes moved from his eyes to his lips. I was not sure if it was the alcohol working, but I felt my body acting up just by looking at him. Slowly, I brought my lips closer to his. The closer I got, the more I felt his breath against my lips. Our lips collided, and I felt his arm around my waist. "What are you doing?” his voice resonated throughout the room and his eyes opened, before moving away from me. "Alpha…” I paused, then slammed my lips on his once again. He held me back. "Stop it." he said with a firm tone, but that would not work on me. I was stubborn, but the drink made it ten times worse. He moved out of the bed, pulling me up with him. "How did you get in here?” he asked, eyes glancing at the door. "That's not important.” I sounded sassy. Naturally, I could never speak to him this way, but I was drunk and was locked on my plan. However, I paused, looking into his eyes as I took over his lips once again. This time, he did not push me away. He did not respond, but he was not resisting it either. A minute in and he grabbed my arm by force, surprising me. "Why are you here?” he did not look nor sound offended by me being here or the kiss. "Revenge,” And I tried again to kiss him, but he held me back. "Leave,” he commanded. "I won't." I told him, and he tried to move away. I held him back. "Just once." I said. He turned to face me with a strange look in his eyes. I ignored it. I moved my fingers up his bare muscular chest as I spoke in a slow and seductive tone. "I want to please you just once” I moved my face closer to his neck. "You shouldn't do this." he said. I could sense the need in his voice. I pulled away a little to take a look at his eyes. It flashed a red colour before he grabbed my waist, pulling me closer to him. "Don't regret this.” he kissed the side of my neck, his hands caressing my skin under my shirt. I fell into his touch quickly. I enjoyed Alpha Tristan's touch and hold.
