~∆~ Since I found out that fucker was going to be back at seven, I left the house for a party in our neighborhood. My friend who was the captain of the basketball team was hosting one but I had gone before the party began. I needed the peace before the place turned into a wild zone. It was better than staying around that fucker who pretended to be a good family man in public but a devil in private. We were playing video games in his room when my phone rang beside my lap. I glanced at it and rolled my eyes when I saw it was mom calling. She needed to know by now that her welcome party for my loser of a dad was not none of my business. I continued to play but the continuous ringing of the phone distracted me. I dropped the gaming controller and grabbed my phone then switched it off. I leaned back into the couch I was sitting on and pressed my forehead with the butt of the phone and sighed. I can't wait till I graduated from high school. As much as I didn't care for my education, I needed it to prove to that fucker that I can still get a diploma. You'll never be anything more than a school drop out from the way you live your life. Those words always hurt me each time I wanted to say, 'f**k it' and leave home and school. "What's up?" Josh asked and turned his body to look at me. "Your parents again?" I clicked my tongue and took a deep breath. Even being away from them still had me talking about them. "My dad will be coming back tonight and I'm not ready to be in his presence," I said and took the phone off my face. "That sucks, man. You can stay here for tonight until whenever you want to see his ugly face," Josh said and went back to the game. Josh Edgewood has been my friend since I started going to Redside High. We were like close friends who knew things about each other. He was the only genuine friend I had in Redside and I was glad I did because the school was full of jerks, which includes me. But we were simply good to ourselves and not fake like all the others who was a friend for the money or influence. "Hey, you hungry? I could cook up something for us to eat before I head out to get stuff for the party," he said while standing up. "Yeah, I am," I replied and he smiled at me before leaving his bedroom. I rose from the couch and went over to the window. I shoved my hand into my pocket and made my way to the small balcony he had in his room. I stepped outside and took out the pack of cigarettes in my pocket. I pulled one stick out and stuck it between my lips and put the pack back. I took out a lighter from the other pocket and lit the cigarette up. I inhaled and exhaled the white smoke through my nostrils, feeling a calming sensation move through me. I took the cigarette out of my mouth and began to think about the man I called a father. I had always wondered why he hated me and preferred my siblings. I never did anything to him to deserve his hatred. Even though I knew the reason behind his strong dislike for me, that did not give him the right to make me feel worthless. There was something wrong, something more. I took a drag of my cigar and exhaled the smoke through my mouth. I was feeling stressed and anxious at the fact that he was back. I would no longer get peace of mind because day and night, he would blame me for almost everything that happened. I heard the door open and close, making me look over my shoulder to see if it was Josh. I took one last drag of my cigarette and pressed the burning tip with my fingers, extinguishing it before throwing it off the balcony. I turned around and flinched at the sight of Josh's cousin. She was leaning against the frame of the wide door, in nothing but jeans shorts and a crop top. I could see she was not wearing any bra and that affected me somehow. She smiled and started playing with a lock of her blonde hair. Cindy had a crush on me, and I used to when I was sixteen but because her cousin had found out one night we were making out, I stopped crushing on her. But she had grown into an attractive woman and as a guy that loved getting with pretty girls and right now, I wanted a replay of what happened before. "What's up?" Cindy asked and walked up to me. She stopped close to me, her chest almost brushing mine. She was almost as tall as I was, so I didn't have to bend my head to look down at her. I started to trace my eyes over her pale skin, taking how clothes hugged her figure. She was truly very pretty, and it was too bad that I no longer had a crush on her and at the same time, I was glad to because ain't no way I was getting hooked to one girl. "So, what have you been up to, handsome?" She asked and placed her hand on my chest. "Nothing much. You?" I placed my hand on her waist and pulled her close. "I've been around," Cindy replied in a husky voice. I smirked. "I heard you have a boyfriend now. Won't he be sad that his girlfriend's trying to flirt with her old crush?" Cindy chuckled. "Come on, Lucas. You and I both know I don't give a shit." Before I knew it, Cindy dragged me by the collar, into the room. I chuckled as she dragged me out of the room and through the hallway until we arrived in her bedroom. She shut the door and locked it before smashing her lips on mine. I needed s****l satisfaction to get my mind off things. So, I gave into her even if I didn't have anything for her anymore. With a smirk, I pulled her toward her bed. ~∆~ The party had begun, and I was having the time of my life, dancing to the music blasting through the speakers. I was high and happy at the moment. Just what I wanted to get my mind free. I was sitting on a couch, staring at one of the cheerleaders dancing seductively in front of me. I already knew I had a girl to satisfy me for the night. Cindy had not been enough. Heck, one woman was never enough for me. I blamed my hyperactive s*x drive. Just at a corner ahead, I saw Maddy and threw my head back with a groan. Of course she would be here. She was at every f*****g party I attended. "Who the f**k invited her to the party?" I asked myself and brought back my head forward to stare at her. I took in her short red dress as she walked toward me, smiling widely. When she got close, she stopped right in front of me, as if trying to make me take her in before waving at me. I rolled my eyes when she sat beside me, her cologne almost making me nauseous. "I didn't know you'd be at the party, Lucas. I'm glad you're here," she said and placed her hand on my thigh. I sighed. "Can I help you?" "Oh, no. I just wanted to keep you company. I saw you idle and came to say hi." I scoffed. "Did you hear anyone say that I was bored or idle? Maddy, I'm not in the mood for you right now." Maddy leaned forward, making me catch a sight of her exposed cleavage. I allowed her to move her hand up my thigh, close to my belt. Maybe I could just give her what she wanted but as I said, she was the clingy type, and I never liked the clingy type. I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket and took it out then I clenched my jaw when I saw it was a call from my father. I intentionally ended the call and turned off my phone then met Maddy's eyes. She had the biggest f**k me eyes I have ever seen on any girl, and it was tempting. That fucker had put a fit of strong anger in me and I needed to burn it out somehow. So, I grabbed her hand and dragged her to her feet. "Are you busy now?" I asked and she smiled. "Even if I was, I would choose you over it," she said and pressed her chest against mine. "Alright, let's go up to a guest room here," I said to her and dragged her with me. I would give her what she has always wanted while she serves as a relief and distraction for me. My only hope is that she doesn't come for me. Because I only f**k one person once and that's it.
