I took a few steps forward but stopped as I came face-to-face with my attackers. I could make out more than fifteen figures and the chasing footsteps had ceased. I could not see anyone properly but recognized two different voices.
"It's payback time!" I heard Shaw exclaim. "Rose, do you want to go first?"
"Of course," Rose replied. "You can all take your turns on her after I have taken out her eyes."
I began to slowly move backward. Perhaps it was better to jump off the cliff. Even though I didn't know what was down there, I certainly had a higher chance of survival.
As though Rose could read my mind, she ordered, "Now!"
I had no idea that two men were already at my sides. Once she gave the order, they grabbed my arms and pinned me to the ground.
