My heart jumped to my throat, and I ran to him before I could finish processing what was happening.
“Ares,” I called in a shaky voice. “Ares, what’s wrong with you?”
I grabbed his shoulders and tried to calm him, squeeze him, anything at all to keep him from shaking so much but nothing seemed to work.
His eyes were halfway closed, but he turned to me, almost like he was seeing me, but they closed, and my heart dropped. I started shaking him even more frantically.
