Meet Lydia

Embry The engine of my car roared as I accelerated in their direction, I took deep breaths as I entered the private driveway back to the house, the closer I got to him the more anger I felt. The vision of him looking at the woman next to him laughing along with each other, replaying over in my head. As I made it through the trees the house became visible in front of me, as I expected the line of vehicles were all lined up out front, They must already be inside as I could see the cars were all empty. I slammed my foot down onto the brakes letting the car slide to a stop, I jumped out slamming the door behind me and made my way up the steps and into the house. Blair We were all about to leave to go see Rose when we saw Kane's car coming down the drive followed by some others. We all stopped on the porch and watched as Kane pulled up in front of us, all of us were immediately drawn to the unknown female in the passenger seat next to him. “You have got to be kidding me!” I said to myself. Three other cars pulled alongside Kane, each car had two men inside, these were from another pack, I could tell by their scent. Kane got out of the vehicle swiftly and walked around to the passenger side opening the door for the unwelcomed female, he held out his hand to her, she took it getting out of the car we all watched as she strutted beside Kane towards us. Holding on to his arm as though she was a desperate teenager, smiling ear to ear. “Guys this is Lydia, she is going to be staying with us for a few days until it is safe for her to travel onto her uncle's pack.” Kane introduced her like he thought we were generally interested. “Hi, Kane's told me a lot about you all” she beamed holding out her hand. “I bet he has” I answered as I glared at her showing I wasn't quite as welcoming as my brother, I think she got the hint as the annoying smile plastered on the face faltered. “where have you been?” I asked Kane, purposely taking the attention off of the bimbo. “I had business to attend to, why?” He said as though he hadn't just been missing in action for the last twenty-four hours. “We've been worried, Embry has been trying to contact you” I began but he was quick to cut me off “Relax, I'm home, where is she anyway?” “Gone to town, probably picking up a more deserving man in one of the bars” Kala cut in, she was just as pissed as I was. Kane laughed as he pushed past us leading Lydia into the house “Make these men something to eat would you, they have to get back on the road as soon as possible. The men all followed suit and entered the house behind them. “Yeah I don't think so, you know where the kitchen is you can make them something yourself” I shouted to him. We walked into the house closing the door behind us, I stopped to look back out the window as I heard an engine approaching. “Well, this is going to be fun!” Ryder said as he looked out at the same thing I did, We watched Embry's car fly down the drive and skid to a halt, I could tell she was not very impressed at all. “Let her kick his ass, how he's been behaving lately he deserves it!” Kala said. “Well, she's not wrong!” Ryder shrugged his shoulders and moved away from the window. I moved out the way of the door if Embry was about to kick Kane's ass I didn't want to be anywhere near that, we knew how strong she was. We had all watched her train for months now, her strength at times surpassed Kane's. I looked up at Ryder and then at Kala who was slightly worried like I was, they clearly didn't want to be a part of this either. Kane was in the kitchen explaining where everything was to the six men, I knew he wouldn't have cooked for him, despite his age the man can't cook to save his life. we each took another step back away from the front door as Em got closer. Kane and Lydia walked out of the kitchen together, she still hung on to him as her life depended on it. “I swear they eat like actual animals, I will pay for everything they use while they are here, I'm so grateful for this Kane” Lydia said, as she began to rub his arm. “It's no problem, you're my guest!” Kane smiled. The front door opened revealing an angry Embry, her eyes went straight to Kane and then to Lydia. Embry There she was, the blonde bimbo draped over my Kane! Smiling at him like he belonged to her, my wolf was on the surface ready to come out and rip her to pieces. “Embry, come here, I want you to meet Lydia!” Kane smiled at me and held out his hand to me. I stepped closer and slapped his hand out of the way, as I did her scent hit me, I knew this scent! This was the vile smell that was all over Kane the last time he was out for the night! “Well, I can see why you didn't answer my calls” I looked at how she was wrapped around his arms. “It must be hard when you have no arms free” Kane rolled his eyes “Come, meet Lydia she is..” “Oh I think I'm acquainted enough with her, you know seen as It was her scent all over you the last time you disappeared for the night” I growled, my focus still kept on their linked arms. “That was my fault, I ran into a spot of bother and Kaney here helped me” she smiled. I stepped towards them it wasn't my intention but my wolf was taking over, she had enough of their little show of affection. Kane could sense my anger immediately as he removed Lydia's arm from his and pushed her behind him. “Em, calm down, it was work, you're overthinking this” “I don't think I am!” I calmly said as I took another step in her direction. “Ryder, calm her down while I show Lydia to her room, I will talk to you when I come back down,” Kane said to me sternly. “Nah, I'm good” Ryder stepped back pulling Kala and Blair back with him. Kane rolled his eyes “great, you too huh?” “Oh, I think you've done a good job at pissing everyone off!” I seethed. Lydia pushed past Kane “This is pathetic, why are you all ganging up on Kane he is your Alpha, you should have more respect than this, especially you!” She glared at me, and it was just the cherry on top of the cake. Kane looked at her with a shocked expression on his face “Don't..” he began but I wasn't interested in what he had to say to her. I lunged forward and punched her as hard as I could in the face, she flew back and crashed into the bottom of the stair bannister landing in a heap on the floor. Kane ran to her side asking if she was ok and began to help her up.”She hit me Kane” Lydia choked as she held onto her cheek. Kane lifted her from the ground setting her back down on her feet “I know I will deal with it” he looked back at me “wait here, I'll speak to you once I've helped Lydia to her room” he put his arm around her waist and let her lean on him while she struggled up the stairs. I couldn't stand here and watch him, he showed me no remorse for being out all night, why was he at her side right now? Why wasn't he by my side making sure I was ok? I turned and stormed out of the house, if I stayed there any longer there was going to be a murder in that house. The rage was pouring out of me, It was the first time in all of this year I said to myself I didn't want to be around Kane. I drove around for quite some time before ending up at Joe's, it was a small bar on the outskirts of town, I knew about it from some of the pack, they always spoke very highly of this place. It was the only place that catered for us wolves, normal alcohol didn't have much effect on us so he adds something to each bottle so it does affect us. Nobody knows what but apparently his bar has been run by his family for 300yrs and has never let his secret slip. I had to admit Joe was a lot younger than I had imagined him to be, he was the only one bartending tonight. He politely introduced himself as he took my first drinks order. I could see why everyone liked this place, it was fun, yes I agree the vodka was helping me loosen up and enjoy life a bit more but I didn't care at this precise moment. I spent hours dancing and singing with everyone, but the crowd was slowly beginning to disperse, I didn't realise how late it was until I saw Joe beginning to pack things away. I staggered over to the bar “Joe, don't be boring, come and dance, show me your moves!” I swayed my hips as I tried to entice him, but by the smile on his face, he was not going to show me his dance moves. “Sorry, I think I will sit this one out” he chuckled to himself as he stacked the glasses back on the shelf from the washer. I climbed onto the barstool closest to him, “why have I not been in here before, it's amazing!” I looked around at everyone seeing the smiles on everyone's faces. “I don't know, why haven't you?” he asked smoothly, I shrugged my shoulders “No idea, but that is going to change! I will be back here, every night! I love it here” I shouted Joe laughed at my response “maybe you should take it easy then if you plan on coming back every night to see me” he leaned down on the bar so his face was closer to mine. “I close up in thirty minutes how about we stay behind to have a drink just the two of us?” he asked as he slowly moved closer to me. Having him this close woke me us a bit, it felt wrong, I didn't want him this close, he was moving in to kiss me, I had to stop this now. I jumped to my feet and stepped away from the bar giving him an awkward smile, He sensed my nervousness and straightened himself back up as he cleared his throat. “well this looks very intimate, you get this close with all your customers? Or is it just me wife you've taken a liking to?” Joe looked behind me to the voice who just spoke out. I sighed and dropped my head as I knew who it was without looking. “Alpha, it's not what it looks like I swear I mean no disrespect!” Joe began to panic and hold his hands up in defeat. “Is that so?” His voice came closer until I felt him by my side. His hand touched my lower back “ I think it's time we left” I looked up at him, through squinted eyes, the audacity! “Really? Well, people don't always get what they want” I pushed him away as I took my seat again at the bar, ignoring his presence. Joe stared at the two of us in shock, “Second thoughts, I would love to stay here and speak to Joe a bit more about what I just saw” Kane came to my side dragging another stool closer to mine and seated himself beside me. Joe's face dropped as the colour began to drain from it, he looked as though he was close to passing out. I growled out loud knowing that this was Kane's plan to get me to leave with him and it was working. I couldn't stay sat here while he tortured Joe, “Fine, let's go!” I shouted as I got back up and began walking towards the exit. I listened to Kane behind me making sure he was following me and not about to hurt Joe, there was a pause before I heard movement I knew he was making Joe crap his pants right now. I got outside the door and looked for my car, I could have sworn I had parked it right outside the doors. “Ansel's already taken it home, your with me,” Kane said as he walked past me opening the door for me. I walked past him and slid into the passenger seat, he closed my door for me and walked around to the driver's side and got in next to me. “Are you ok?” He asked looking at me, he placed his hand on my thigh. I sighed and moved his hand, “just take me home” I sighed. He started the car and pulled away from the curb heading in the opposite direction to our home “Where are you going?” “I need to speak to you away from the house” He answered in a serious tone. I sighed as I looked out the window “great, I can feel the rejection coming already” I muttered. His hand was back on my thigh “please don't say that just listen to what I have to say, please”
