Chapter Nineteen: The Past RevealedJamie sat bolt upright in bed, his heart pounding so hard he was afraid it would burst out of his chest. He ran a quivering hand over his face. His entire body trembled. The nightmare, if that was what it was, had seemed as real as if he were witnessing an actual event. He sat still for a moment, trying to regain his bearings, then slowly got up out of bed and crossed over to his window. He scanned the many houses that surrounded his; the back gardens, the alleyways. They appeared the same as they always did. Quiet houses in quiet streets. Not at all like the ones in his dreams, which had huddled together in and around Hamilton Square.
