Claire

It's been months since Samuel left home for his business trip in Ravena, I have been running things in his absence while being advised by my mother and the Elders. Our son is adorable and hopefully, I can get pregnant soon, however, I haven't been getting pregnant and we tried for a while. Sol has been busy and avoiding court so it was really up to me for now, Personia has been hanging with me at lunch and I finally felt things are looking up. My mother usually disappears around this time, I think she is seeing someone and I am happy for her if it's true. I walked back to the throne room after lunch, I was shocked to see my husband talking with Loomis his guard and he turned to me and said, "Claire, I see you were at lunch with Personia, how is Saul doing?" I smiled walking over to him and kissing his lips but it felt different, a bit cold, like he didn't want to entertain the idea.

He said, "I spent a few weeks in Molinas visiting, Dawn, she is pregnant again but doing fine," I said, "Wow, that is great that it is working out for her." He turns to Haru and says, "Leave us," he looks at me and says, "Tell me, Claire, what happened between you and Dawn? You were so close growing up, inseparable and now you practically hate each other, I want to understand why Dawn hates you so much." I was shocked this topic came back up but anything is possible with Dawn, never letting things go, I smiled and said, "Well for starters, it had to do with Rave, I think she blames me for not telling her the truth about what happened back then." He sat down and asked, "What exactly happened back then, Claire?" I was getting nervous, this line of questioning didn't feel right but I held my composure.

I walked towards him and said, "Rave liked Dawn and she loved him, so I was going to ask him to take her hand in marriage, however, I didn't think he was right for her but she insisted." Samuel just stared at me not amused, he asked, "What about the night she caught you f*****g Rave?" I froze up in shock and said, "That never happened, we talked and I convinced him to ask your father to let them mate, I don't know what she told you but it's all in her head." Sol walked in, and asked, "Are you calling our sister crazy, Claire?" I turned to him and said, "Of course not but why would she say that? You know I was pure when we had s*x for the first time," looking at Samuel. Dawn walked in and my mother was being dragged by Devon and Haru and forced to kneel in front of Samuel, she had a robe on and was furious.

Dawn looked at me and smiled, she said, "I see you are still up to your lying and scheming," Personia walked in with our son who looked at Sol and said, "Papa." I opened my eyes in shock and asked, "What does this mean? Give me my son," Samuel said, "Don't move, Claire." He got up and walked towards me as I tried to walk away, he yelled, "You lied to me about everything, you f****d my brother and gave birth to his son passing him off as mine and you lied about Rave, set him up." He turned to look down at my mother and said, "Your mother ordered a guard of the court to f**k her which we never do as someone in authority over someone." Dawn looked at Devon not happy as he knelt asking for forgiveness, Balthazar walked in and he was not happy about his brother's predicament.

I hated f*****g Lucille but she ordered me to do so, I couldn't say anything as she ordered it and since she was my superior, I had no choice in the matter. Samuel looked at me but I couldn't tell if he was angry at me or the situation in general, I saw Dawn looking at me disgusted but she had no right to judge me after what happened between us, plus, she moved on. However, my relationship is over with Samira because she found out I had been cheating on her and I had a gut feeling that told me, it was Lucille's doings. This was a private setting for the family and I knew something was going down, Haru knew but I was taken aback by what was happening. I saw Samuel yell at Queen Claire and her mother about me and other things she did in the past, I held my head down in shame. Balthazar whispered something in his ear before I heard the door open, Rave walked in, and I was shocked just as Lucille and Claire were.

Rave looked at us in the room, stared Claire in the face and asked, "Did you miss me, mate?" Lucille said, "Shut up, Rave, you are not supposed to be here." I was confused until Samuel silenced everyone and told Rave, "Repeat what you told me about the scheme to make Claire, Queen." Rave told us about how the scheme began, finding out he and Claire were fated mates and Lucille wanting the power she has, Lucille named the Elders involved with the schemes and Balthazar was ordered to arrest them, I looked at Dawn and she turned away, I felt nothing as I promise to never fall in love again and devoted myself to my job once Samuel forgives me. However, I was sure he would punish me first until he said to me, "Get up and join Balthazar," I bowed and looked at Lucille one last time, I left to arrest the Elders involved in the schemes.

Rave

I was back at my cottage still under surveillance, Haru left early as he had to deal with something, he was one of my close friends but for some reason, he seemed different than before when I got exiled. He spent the night, but we didn't sleep with each other, he was technically my guard and was good at his job, his brother had been distant lately but something was off. I hated betraying Claire, I still loved her although our bond was suppressed to nearly non-existent. I was sent for later in the day and I went over to Samuel's throne room escorted by the younger twins of Balthazar, Doneres looked at me and said, "You do know my brother Haru loves you right," I was shocked but not surprised, he was always sweet on me as we grew up but I focus on meeting my mate again. I walked in and saw Devon and Lucille kneeling on the floor in front of Samuel and his aura was deadly strong.

I walked up to Claire who was shocked and I touched her face feeling those light sparks again and asked, "Did you miss me, mate?" She backed away with tears running down her face, looked at Samuel, and said, "I can explain everything, please," she was caught and she knew it. Samuel was furious as she told him everything, Dawn smiled knowing she felt validated in her assumptions. Sol was silent and Samuel turned to Lucille and said, "You are nothing but a b***h and I swear you won't leave here alive." Claire knelt and said, "Don't kill her, I will take all responsibility because I should have said no, I was complicit in everything, I am guilty." Balthazar returned with the two High Elders and made them kneel and without a second thought, Samuel cut their heads off, I didn't even see when he pulled his sword. Everyone gasped as they had never seen this side of him before, Samuel was hurt and broken, we all betrayed him.
