Chapter 11: Fallen Queen Part 2

Sol

Samuel contacted me and he was on his way with Dawn, I was excited that they were able to patch up things and now to deal with Claire. I like Claire and Samuel, the power couple, and thought they were in love, well, Samuel was in love, Claire was holding on to power and I should have sensed it. Dawn was right, if I had come forward sooner, she never would have been Queen, I failed my brother, and knowing him, I would have to grovel for his affection again. Personia was taking care of my kids, she had accepted that Saul was my son and was willing to be a mother to him, they were the same age and well, can be considered twins, we even laugh about it. I was heading down to the throne room and I looked at Haru, I smelt Rave on him and said, "I see you are doing things you shouldn't be doing," he smiled and said, "f**k off, but it's not what you think."

Haru had a crush on Rave for centuries and we all knew about it, he had been with women before but Rave seemed to be his person, he wouldn't cross a boundary with him and we all knew it. We love teasing him now and then, Rave was requested as he was needed for this, Claire won't be able to deny anything with all the evidence against her. I don't know what my brother planned to do about punishing all of us because he still planned to but it won't be as severe as those he will punish of the court. They will receive long sentences for sure and probably a few banishments, I could only hope, I was his brother and betrayed him in the worst way and so did Rave as his best friend. I stopped to talk to Balthazar as Haru went ahead without me, I walked in after Haru left to get Lucille with Balthazar on his heels, I knew things were heating up and I wanted to be there.

I walked in when Claire was explaining herself to Samuel and it sounded like she was calling Dawn a liar, so I asked "Are you calling my sister a liar?" The shock on her face, when she saw me, was priceless, but she had more surprises coming her way, she tried to lie her way out of this to Samuel, and then we heard Dawn and Lucille entering the room from different angles. Lucille was forced to kneel along with Devonvich and I was confused about that one as I saw Haru and Balthazar look at him with disgust. Huru linked me and said, "He was sleeping with Lucille," I knew then that Devon had f****d up but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt about the situation. Personia walked in with Saul who smiled when he saw me and yelled for Papa, Samuel's demeanor changed, and that hit home for him because he had built a bond with Saul.

Samuel held in most of his anger as he yelled at Claire, he would never hit her but he was furious, she felt it and knew there was no way out of this when Rave showed his face. I watched Claire look at him shocked while Lucille was angry with him, Rave walked over to Claire and we saw the bond work before our eyes, she leaned into his touch closing her eyes, Rave was telling the truth about being fated to her and all the schemes they did to get Claire on the throne. Claire decided to tell the truth confirming what Rave said, Samuel was hurting, you could tell and I knew he wouldn't be the same after this. He sent Devon and Balthy to get the Elders who betrayed us all, I remained silent through it all and Dawn smiled and finally felt good being heard.

Samuel turned his anger to Lucille and said, "You are nothing but a b***h and I swear you won't leave here alive," Claire knelt and begged for her mother's life taking responsibility for everything. I turned when I heard the double doors and saw the two Elders being led to the throne room and forced to kneel at Samulel's feet. I felt a strong aura, and I turned to Samuel, his eyes were blood red, and before I could blink twice, he had their heads rolling towards my feet. Dawn gasped along with us all, we stared at his sword dripping with the Elders' blood, and we all knelt in submission bowing to the King of the Underworld. He didn't ask for their side of things, he wasn't hearing it, I knew Samuel had changed from ruling passively to an iron ruler. He turned to Claire and before he could give his ruling, our mother pushed the doors and yelled, "Stop!"

Samuel

It's been two days since my mother asked me to spare Lucille, they have been friends since childhood, so I decided to banish them for good. She accepted that and they would be escorted today to the edge of the Underworld and cross over by the wicker stream, Rave asked to see Claire before she left since they had a bond he would break, and he finally accepted she didn't love him as much as he loved her. She didn't love me either but we weren't fated, so I could only imagine the pain he was going through since the bond was growing again. Dawn decided to stay for a few days and Brent understood the changes being made, I have taken back power from the Elders for now and promoted Balthazar as my advisor but he is still head of my armies. Devon will spend two months in lockup and Sol will join him, Haru will step in for Sol in the meantime.

I stood on my balcony looking at the larva waterfall and I wondered what I did so badly to f**k up picking a loyal mate, I lost my son but I would be the fun uncle. I won't be mating anyone soon, and since fated mates are rare, I won't mate until I find one which will take centuries or not at all. I had so much on my mind and decided I needed to relax for a few days, I sent the dead elders' bodies to their families so they could bury them. I had Lucille and Claire's names stripped from history and forever known as traitors, no one will remember the Fallen Queen. Sol will raise their son and she will roam Ravena until she is dead, if she steps a foot back here, she will be executed on sight, the same goes for Lucille. My mother asked for mercy, so I gave them it, I hope they use it wisely but after they leave, I will not think of them again.

Many years passed and things have been looking up, I saw my niece and nephew running up and down the hall playing with their toys. Personia is pregnant again and Dawn ends up with five children, three boys, and two girls, I still refused to mate with anyone or fall in love again but I felt contented with how things were. I haven't been back to Ravena when the Supremes died, I also heard a second set of Supremes took rule but were also killed. I headed down to meet the new prisoners as they were quite a nasty bunch, I met with the former Rogue King, Logar, and smiled, I said, "I have somewhere special for you," I let Devon take him to his special cell and met his cellmate, Fury. I, unfortunately, think about Claire sometimes but I knew it was best the way things ended, my kingdom prospered, and I kept out of Ravena. I saw my lover enter the bedroom and I was about to join her in bed when I felt someone summon me to Ravena and I wrapped to Volterra.

Rave

It's been years and I have my title back and was part of King Samuel's court, he eventually forgave me and I vowed never to betray him again. It had been a long day and I headed home to see Haru in the kitchen preparing dinner, we started dating each other a few months after Claire was banished. Sol returned to his position so Haru returned to being his second in command and guard, Haru told me how he felt after I was feeling lost when Claire left. We ended up in bed and although he was the first guy I was with, I admit, I was attracted to him. Over the years we moved in together and he was more of a mate than Claire was, I was stupid but wised up. After dinner, we ended up in bed together making passionate love, I woke up in the middle of the night to a burning in my chest and he asked in a panic, "What is it, love?" I told him, "It has been happening a lot lately," he looked at me and asked, "Did you reject, Claire?"

A few days later, I asked Samuel to let me find Claire, I hadn't rejected her, and I needed to, he gave me a few months and I headed out, kissing Haru who would wait until I returned. It took a few weeks to track her down, she and her mother had been living in a cottage near the woods. Her mother worked at the town market and she helped but after days of watching her, she slept with men for extra pennies so they could afford to live. She changed her name to Cynthia and her mother's name was, Dorit, I decided to get this over with although it pained me. I waited until she was heading home from a day's work and she walked into me, she wasn't paying attention. She looked at me and said, "I stayed away from any portals leading to home, so tell Samuel he doesn't need to kill me," I said, "I am not here for that."

She looked shocked and I told her, "I need you to accept the rejection," she shook her head saying, "I can't, I need to hang on to something." I said, "I am in pain when you f**k around," she shouted back, "So I am I when you are with whoever you are with," I sighed and said, "Then why stay mated causing each other pain?" She said, "If I let you go, I have no connection to home," we walked back to the cottage in silence, and she offered me tea. She smiled and said, "It is nice seeing you again, do you see, Saul? I said, "He is growing and happy, that's all I can say about Sol's son." She said, "He is my son too," I acknowledged it, and she said, "Spend the night with me, and I will let you go in the morning." I said, "I can't," she said, "I want to spend one last time with my mate," I shook my head, and she said, "You are in love," as I watched her tears flow. I walked over to her and kissed her, I did what she asked and spent the night, we rejected each other in the morning and I went home to the man I love.
