Chapter 24: Special Meeting Part 1

Michael

I looked at my baby son in my wife's arms and I couldn't believe how adorable he was, he wasn't my biological son but he was mine. I drove to the office and on my way there, I felt so uneasy like something was missing, I asked Bashien, "Why do we get this feeling?" He said, "Honestly, I don't know, our children are safe and our Queen is well protected and we haven't any other kids we are aware of." I smiled because he was right, Kaitlyn got rid of both pregnancies and it still pains me but we are both in different places in our lives and I genuinely wish her the best with Samuel. Maybe, this was our fate from the beginning, obstacles kept us from reaching our fates faster.

I decided to take the trip with Ty and Toffe to the underworld, King Samuel was expecting us, and secretly, it was a way to see how Kaitlyn was doing. Toffe told us about a boy he suspected was his son on the drive to Demorand and boy, he sure looked like him after he showed us the boy, Ty and I asked him, "Who the hell did you knot up and didn't tell you?" Obviously, we were joking but Ty was willing to help him learn the truth and I promised to help him in any way after dealing with the Sheila situation. Once we reached the Palace, we were led into a conference room where Samuel and Marlon greeted us. Samuel looked at me and said, "Bashien, my old friend," I stepped back as Bashien took over and they shook hands and hugged each other.

Samuel told us about the story of Anuba and how it may have entered Sheila at some point as a teenager taking her over. Ty was not amused and was hell-bent on killing her, I asked to be taken where the Demon rave happened to see if I could pick up anything of use to us. I was taken to the Demon Rave and it was full of unwanted energy, I could feel and taste it. I asked Samuel if this was a burial ground before and he said, "Many moons ago," we went into the basement. We came to a door that was dark and unlocked, we went inside and down more stairs until we were in a forbidden tomb, my power increased wanting more, and the carvings on the wall was a seal, that was broken.

I sucked up whatever energy was left and I said, "This is where she was locked away, the markings could only be broken by a virgin who had enough rage and anger in her heart to match Queen Anuba, Sheila was her descendent so she must have opened the cell," Marlon said, "That explains why the sudden change in her behavior, she absorbed the entity." Toffe said, "At least now we can find a way to end her and put a stop to this madness," looking at the carvings, it was his vampire, Davien, as the mark on his forehead glowed. Marlon said, "If we separate her, can you save her?" Ty angrily said, "She is good as dead," Marlon bowed, "Yes, Your Highness," before walking out.

After reaching back to the Palace, I met up with Kaitlyn so we could finally talk, she looked great and happy, she had Samuel's mark on her neck, and it had his initials with a serpent wrapped around them with a crown on it's head and the Royal Crest in the background. She had fulfilled her father's prophecy, after all, she became Queen, not me or Cayden's Queen. Kaitlyn and I finally buried the hatchet between us and I promised to talk to my brother so they could co-parent together, it was in the best interest of the child but also, we would have to go to Aidan with this. Later that night, I was taken out with the guys to a social nightclub named 'Le Demon' and we had a blast.

Kaitlyn

Samuel and I had finally married and I was coronated, we had just returned from our honeymoon because he was doing some heavy lifting for Gamma Ty. They were planning to meet to talk about an important matter but I didn't expect Michael to be with them, I was nervous seeing him again and waited until they returned from their meeting. I still get an unusual feeling like I need to tell him something but I also want to know about my son and hope he tells me. I walked over to the garden where I saw Sol's mother picking flowers, she was so beautiful, and her skin was glowing from her pregnancy. She called me over and slightly bowed since I was now Queen, she said, "I never got to speak to you about something in Sam's past because we are excited about you, Kate," I nod for her to go on.

She says, "You are not the first Queen as you are his second wife, I am not sure he told you anything and I won't go into details but love him, Kate. He can be ruthless when he wants to be and his rulings are harsh when they need to be whether friends or foes, even family, he is big on loyalty, so in other words, if you hurt him, it won't end well for you. I know about your past, I investigated and you are no saint but we believe in second chances and you deserve one, don't disappoint me." I heard a voice behind me, it was Samuel's mother saying, "Don't disappoint us," walking over and kissing her mate. I was fascinated at how the parents are in a triad not afraid to show love to each other. We ended up having tea and cookies together, we sat in the garden talking about little things, and they expected me to do right by my mate and I intend to do just that.

After they left, I walked over to the lake and sat down, I felt Michael behind me and I looked around inviting him to join me, I asked about the meeting, and then we talked about our past. We laughed at the good times we shared and he told me how his family was doing since I was last in Faeora. We decided to be friends again and I felt so relieved, he understood I was manipulated by my father and promised to catch and punish him. I swallowed and asked about my son, he looked into my eyes and said, "I will talk to Cayden so he will let you see Orion." I tore up hoping Cayden didn't hate me and he held my hand, I wanted to tell him something but I didn't know what, and then he left to go to his room before going out with my husband later tonight.

I felt like I was being watched but also knew my guard was always in the shadows and I linked him saying, "I feel like someone other than you is watching me." He said, "I am here alone, Your Majesty, but I will have the area checked." I said, "Thank you, Haru, one more thing, are you always around?" He replied, "Yes but not in your private quarters, Your Majesty."I got up after that and looked towards the stream, something was not right but I waited on Haru's investigation and headed to my room, Samuel linked me, "I am not coming home later, I will go straight to the club, however, if you want me, I am a warp away if you need anything." I smiled saying, "I will rest, see you later, and have fun with the boys," I decided to stay in my room for the rest of the evening and read up on the rules and laws of Demorand.

Haru

I always stayed in the background protecting my Queen, I only showed myself if I had to intervene or she asked otherwise, I remained invisible. No one will sense I am here but I do feel what she is feeling and that was quite impossible especially for me so something else was going on and I will get to the bottom of it. I escorted her to her quarters and sensed something was off, I linked Deon to go over the area just in case because if anything happened to Queen Kate, Samy would have my head, childhood friend or not. I stood outside her door, everyone walked past but never knew I was there, and then I sensed it again. This time, they were in her room and I barged in to see an entity hovering over her sleeping body, it looked at me and disappeared before I caught it. Balthazar appeared and said, "We have an escapee on our hands," I smiled saying, "They just left."

Later that night, it was apprehended and told Balthy that he was freed to kill the Queen, but never told us who freed him, Balthazar decided he would tell Samuel himself. I asked one of my bestfriends to work with me to keep Queen Kate safe because Samuel would turn this place upside down to find out who wanted to harm his mate. I saw Samuel enter the room and I backed away feeling a tap on my shoulder, I smiled because only one person could sneak up on me like that and I turned to see my husband with coffee in his hands and I kissed his lips. He said, "I miss you, when will you be home?" I said, "I will be off tomorrow and we could spend the day together," kissing him again when Deon appeared and said, "You two are gross but I have news." I looked at the file and said, "This is interesting." I linked Devon and told Rave, "I will see you at home."
