Chapter 29: Long Fight

Samuel

It's been a month and although Kaitlyn told me we would try and work on things, she has made no effort and I don't blame her. It was going to take more than an apology for my wife to forgive me, she was hurt badly after all the promises I made to give her a better life and to love her. I broke my vows to her, I almost lost my sons because of what I did, and that in itself is unforgivable, Connor was visiting today so he could meet his siblings and his stepmother. He never made it to the coronation or our wedding to keep his identity a secret, but he watched it during a magical link. I had baby monitors in my room so I could help out at random points so she could rest, I knocked on the door and she told me to enter, both the boys were asleep on her bed and I smiled. She looked like her old self again, I walked towards her and she put her hand up to my chest, stopping me, she closed her eyes feeling the bond.

I said, "Kaitlyn, I know I am the last person you want to hear from right now....," she cut me off, "Stop Samuel, I know that we have a lot to work through but I need to know, who is she?" I walked her out to the balcony and closed the door so our sons could sleep peacefully, I told her everything and why I did what I did, and she slapped me in the face. She was angry and yelled, "Were you going to tell me or were you going to keep that you f**k your ex from me?" I looked at her unable to answer because I was never going to tell her about how I cheated on her and she backed away saying, "You were going to keep it from me, well, I guess you are King and you can f**k who you want." I said, "I would never take someone to bed after this or keep a mistress around, Kaitlyn, we talked about that before," I walked towards her saying, "I love you and I am so sorry I hurt you like this so don't give up on us," resting my forehead against hers.

She backed away and I placed my hand on both sides of her jaw and said, "Look at me, Kate, look at me." She opened her eyes and I said, "Diana is my past, I never set out to hurt you like that, it never should have happened and I wish I could take it all back." She said, "Samy, things will never be the same between us, I have to focus on our sons and being a good Queen, you and me are over, I can't trust you, and l will never be able to trust you, looking over my shoulder every time there is an attractive woman around you, I don't want that, just lets co-parent for now, okay." My heart sank, I knew I had to build her trust again, make her fall in love with me all over again and when I did get her to forgive me, nothing and no one would ever tear us apart. I left her to rest and headed down to the home office, I wanted to make sure Diana stuck to her word and never returned here unless necessary, I was going to fight for my wife.

Six Months Later

I was in the living room playing with my kids, their mom had gone out tonight, and she was having a girls' night celebrating Dawn's birthday. Dawn wanted to go to a nightclub so it was a private affair for the ladies, I enjoyed being the attentive dad, and I looked at my wedding ring and thought about how badly I f****d up my marriage. Kaitlyn tries but she backs out when things start to get close with us, she is afraid I would hurt her again and I don't blame her. Since then, things have been looking up in Ravena, Ty still hates Sheila and they are still trying to locate Lucas, I know he is not hiding down here if not I would have been notified when he crossover, the best bet would be in Rogueland. Diana lived up to her word and returned to human territory working at one of my brother's businesses there.

I still get angry at myself when I think about what happened between us putting my family through the hurt and pain I caused, it was late, the boys were in the nursery asleep and I was in bed when I heard giggling and saw Haru with my wife in his arms. She was drinking tonight and I took her and thanked him, I put her on the bed and took her shoes off, she was beautiful and I looked into her unique eyes and felt her pulling me in but I backed off. The mate bond wanted us to mate, plus, it was around that time for us to be intimate or it would be painful, intimacy had changed between us, we just got it over with to stop withdrawal symptoms, no lovemaking, no connecting and I miss that type of intimacy with her. She looked at me and said, "I miss you," pulling me down on top of her, I kissed back but I needed to stop, she was intoxicated and I would not take consent away from her.

I got hard and she tried taking my d**k out, I stopped her saying, "We can't, Kaitlyn, not like this, as much as I want to and I really want to, you need to sleep it off." She shut me up with a kiss and our kissing was intense, she ripped down my t-shirt and I rubbed the outside of her panties, they were soaked through, her scent was amazing and I had to stop and pull back. I whispered, "I can't Kate," she yelled, "So, you can f**k everyone else but your wife," I sighed and said, "It's not that, you're intoxicated, love," she turned away from me and cuddled the pillow. I got up to check on the boys and heard her snore, I smiled knowing she would have forgotten it in the morning anyway but I could never, I wanted her to remember it, remember everything I would do to her body and more. I covered her up and took her bag off the floor, I saw that the items had spilled out, and there was a condom next to her bag with her phone, I held back my anger and left the room.

I went over to Haru's quarters since Lids was at my wife's door, I knocked and Rave answered the door and said, "He is in the shower." I looked at him, he knew something was up and went to get his husband, I waited until Haru came out in a vest and joggers, his hair was still wet and he bowed. I stopped him and said, "We are all friends here, tell me, who was she with at the club?" He said "I don't follow, Samy," I showed him the condom and he said, "If you confront her about that, it will be worse for you." He felt my aura, he said, "Nothing happened, Angela gave it to her, this guy was checking her out but when he figured out who she was, he backed off." I asked, "Would you have let her or would you stopped her?" He said, "If she commanded me to stop from interfering, I would have to, you know I can't override her command unless someone higher commands me to." I smiled because he was right, and with that, I commanded him to keep all men away from my wife.

Kaitlyn

I woke up with a hangover, I saw Samuel's mother pouring water into a glass and handing me some painkillers, I said, "I need something stronger." She smiled placing her hand on my temple and chanted a spell to take the headache away, she said, "I am taking the boys for the day, spend time with Samuel, Kate, if you are staying mated, fix things, he can only try but you would need to meet him halfway." I smiled as she walked out, she was right, I was making it hard for him but he deserved it, I decided to shower and head down to his office to take him lunch. This would be the first time going back there after the incident, I was a fool in love with my husband but I would never forget the pain he caused me. I didn't realize how late I slept, I drove downtown and pulled up to his building with a lunch basket in my hand.

Everyone bowed as I passed them, I was nervous, I knew how this could go wrong again, I walked out of the elevator and saw, Linda, his secretary. She bowed and didn't stop me this time, I don't know if that was a good sign or not, I took a deep breath at his door and was about to knock but changed my mind and pushed the door open. He was leaning on the glass looking out at the city, he was in dark navy blue jeans and a sweater. I looked around as my eyes landed on the bathroom door, he said, "I am alone, love," he turned to me, walked over, and took the basket out of my hand. He said, "Thanks for bringing me lunch but I am not hungry, I haven't eaten for a long time," kissing my cheek, I said, "Then you should call, Diana." He said, "I don't want to fight, Kate, she is my ex and won't ever be a problem for us, she never was a problem for us, I hope one day you see that."

We sat and ate, I realized he changed the couch and asked him about it, and he said, "It was a reminder of how I f****d my marriage up and I wanted to fix things with you. It's a small gesture but I wanted to show you that I love you, Kate, it is you and my boys, I will forever beg for your forgiveness." I didn't know what to say, he had been trying for months but I ignored him, last night when that guy approached me to spend time with him, I considered it. However, I loved Samuel despite what happened, and I got drunk, I hated that we ended up like this, I had so much hope for us. I didn't know I was crying until he wiped a tear from my cheek, he said, "Give me a chance, love and I promise you, you won't regret it." I said, "I trusted you, Samuel, I believe in you, and I want so much to enjoy my pregnancy with you at my side, I hate being this distant only being intimate for the stupid bond, you broke us, Samy, can't you see that?"

He said, "I know Kaitlyn, I know, I fail you, I should have found another way, I hated doing this to you, doing this to us, I hate that we are distant too but if you let me back in your life, in your heart, I won't break us like this again." He knelt in front of me and rested his forehead against my stomach, he linked me, "Please take me back, baby, let's work on us, I beg you, I have been going therapy, I just want my family back, want us back. You have the King of the Underworld groveling at your feet, I would move mountains for you, give me a chance to be your mate again." I dropped to my knees facing him and we kissed, it felt like fireworks going off around us, I had opened my heart to him taking my block down unknown to me. I pulled back saying, "We need to take it slow, this isn't forgiveness but a chance to work on our bond," I knew this was going to be a long fight to get back what we had and we sat on the new couch talking about the kids first birthday and how big we wanted to celebrate it.
