Church bell ringing. "I now pronounce you husband and wife." The crowd cheered. And I was happy. We were the perfect couple. And as cliche as it sounds, we completed each other. He was one of those high-school jerks who tried to bully anyone outside his flock. But with me he failed miserably. I was not one to be bullied and I fought back twice as hard and our bickering only continued as the days passed by. He made fun of my unruly curls, I made fun of his beauty spot. Told him he looked like a girl. He mocked me when I failed my Spanish class, and I shot back when he got his biology results. College rolled in and our bickering only intensified especially that we applied for the same major. He drank his bland tea religiously and I couldn't do without my sweet and creamy coffee. I always wanted to open a hotel chain, but from his point of view a food chain was way better. Opening my own hotel was my childhood dream. We were polar opposites in everything, yet so similar. We fought very often, we mocked each other, we cared and we fell in love. But everything comes to an end. "What the hell is wrong with you?" "Me? Oh I'm perfect." He replied with coldness. "Perfect? You call that perfect? So all of a sudden you want a divorce and you're perfect?" I yelled angrily. "I got bored." Caleb shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. I took in a deep breath to calm myself down but failed miserably. "Who the hell do you think you are? You view marriage as something so simple to get in and out of? What was I? Some game you're playing?" "Uh shut up! I'm sick and tired of your innocent act. The perfect wife." "What are you talking ab-" But I was cut short. "It's over Kate. I don't want to go on with this marriage anymore." His eyes cold, his face expressionless and my heart broken. How dare you do that to me Caleb? My anger doubled. "Fine! Let's get a fuckin divorce. If you can't take responsibility for your decisions and think everything is a game, then I don't want to be with a man like you." I snapped back. I knew it was about his lawyer, Jaylein. I saw how she looked at him every time and how she acts all cute and feminine in front of him. There was no doubt that he took an interest in her too but I couldn't face him with it. I was afraid. I didn't want to hear it from him. It will only confirm something I'm trying so hard not to believe. "Oh, you sure don't." "What the hell!" I was furious and I saw red. "Fine" "Fine." And just like everything else, everything came to an end.
