The Great Invasion of the Empire part 4 Return of The Malacca's Great General

The Deserter was tense after listening to the new change of policy, before being more surprised by the idea he was going to implement as it was beyond norms. Everyone present was so shocked that they were unable to utter a single word as they still reeling back from the news.

"Lord isn't that to exaggerating a bit too much." said the nearby noble who heard it.

"Yes that's true even though they fight it for us but who will be given the command of the new company." said another noble.

"Well as much as the policy is good for us but we cannot trust them that much, right?" said one of the soldiers.

"Exactly, what the Lord will do if it was a misplaced trust?" said another soldier"

As the discussion turned tense when the faction was formed with a mix of a noble,  soldier, and the deserter as well who agree to the policy and those who are not.

Agus who is in thirst, quickly grab a nearby skin bottle as he put it in his mouth. To make the policy more understandable, he put down his skin bottle at the same time the crowd who is in discussion died down to listen more clearly.

"I knew this is gonna happen," as Agus look at the crowd.

"I was planning to put another policy but due to the need to revise it again, it's not yet done because this policy change is no laughing matter at all. Because of such, I will say some of the early drafts as later on its content may have some change, so be aware" as Agus continue speaking in front of the crowd.

The crowd who were still discussing with themselves started to stop talking as they watch and listen to their lord who is in front of them.

"For the foreign company to retire to become the kingdom citizen or to become an official soldier of the kingdom. They must contribute for a long time or through a great number of merit during the war, they must also be selected by his squad member or comrade," as Agus continue to read the content of his policy.

"After they have retired from the foreign company they will either find some work or make a new one as each citizen will not be allowed to discriminate to each other as that will damage the kingdom's economy if they are caught doing a crime that did so they will be denounced of their right as a citizen but if they have done any crime that is either corruption, murder, or k********g then their entire family will be turned into the slave as they will work for the government to pay their debt," as Agus look into the eye of the crowd.

"As this also involves the fourth class which is an exodus that is filled with mercenary, barbarian, war convict, deserter, and even battle slave will be included in this policy," said Agus as he finishes.

"Well even though it's a bit lacking but we can still take it I guess," as the noble could only accept it even though it's still not enough.

"Well it's a was well-thought policy at the very least still didn't have any flaw that can be seen but it's quite a proper policy enough and I'd say thumbs up then." said the nearby soldier.

"This is a good one but what I want to know is how long do we need to be in the foreign company during the peace period and war period," the deserter wondered.

"I just hope the war end quickly that is the problem." said another soldier.

"You could say that again." said the tired soldier.

As Agus has finished everything he needed walked into the command tent as the crowd slowly disperse to their assigned post, whether expected or not a well-camouflaged soldier arrived from the front of the tent, as he carries a small written letter which came not come from an ordinary regiment bearing the news that the enemy camp has been reinforced.

Agus who heard it quickly calls the guard, then he ordered the guard to inform the general of the news. At the same time, he then ordered that they were to find any valuable information that may help them for the coming battle. After an hour had passed his general and those second in command are gathering in the command tent as they discuss the next plan and some of the ideas thrown in front of the planning table.

"We could put a spike at this area near the ridge, where the enemy cavalry could charge in on us." said one of Manser.

"Indeed, I also thought they would go there because of their strong horse which is specialized on the cliff, mountain, and hill." said another general who was planning the counter-measure.

"Yeah, if only I could hide it well enough that would kill some of them in the process. Agh, why I didn't think it through wee enough but that better than expected." as Manser finished planning.

"Then I will lend you some of the engineers then, they are excited to build something so this will make them happy," said the general.

"Thank you, General Achmad," said Manser as he salutes in gratitude.

"No, it's not necessary to thank me. I just want to give those Malacca soldiers some nasty surprise but you just give me some of that idea. I just hope you could give them another one, I want to see another of their surprised face that would be excellent for me." said with a scary smile which appeared on his face.

"Eh, Yes General... Achmad," as he was taken back from the general.

Agus who had seen it himself was a bit surprised but due to him, once heard it from another general of their opinion did give some to picture of his personality.

What he heard were as such follows, he once has a family that lives in the countryside and he works as a hunter in the forest but during the uneven day when he returned home the whole village was razed to the ground followed by his wife and daughter were brutally r***d before their neck was cut.

He once tracked down who is the culprit and where he is from then when he knew, it surprised him that the bandit was actually from the Malaccan empire that provoking them in search of riches and glory.

Which Infuriates him so much that he joins the army in order the find and kill the Malacca in thirst of vengeance, his skill and ability were exactly top of the notch as he has talent in forest hunt, skirmish, and engineer.

His family's death turned his kind and caring husband into a cruel and twisted personality, wherein in some cases before when the bandit was caught he selected to t*****e them for 1 hour but unexpectedly he finished within 1 minute shocking the other prison guardsmen.

After interviewing and talking to the bandit they were all affected by the bandit's terrified expression as tears coming out of their eyes, the prison guardsmen started to respect him more and not wanting to be on his bad side.

Learning of such incident as he was selected into the frontier as well a promotion into the captain, after a few weeks in frontier his work was beyond others that he once more promoted into a commander of hundred men.

A few months later after that an event that led him to be promoted once more after saving the general before he retires, he gave his position to Achmad were also applauded by his subordinates and gave their support of the decision.

Now Achmad was given to lead a thousand men because of new military policy by Agus they were added another five hundred men to support them, he then made a new achievement by building a quick-shift fort faster than originally planned thus he was equipped better currently than other soldiers as it may change in the future.

The discussion was heard here and there in the command tent as the plan was being formed, a debate occurred a few times but because of many generals in place as the problem straightened more perfectly.

Talent and experience being pooled together to formulate a better plan with a fail-safe in case they fail to inflict greater damage upon the enemy army.

"The plan is already well cooked enough but never in my wildest dream where such precious item to appear in my pocket, surely my ancestor must be wanting for this victory much more than I do." as he sighs in tiresome.

- Malacca's camp -

The soldier from the other frontier arrived at the camp which was greeted by the ever-hungry conscript at the side of the road.

One of the armored soldiers who arrived seen of the fallen was their friend but due to the strict discipline, they could only grit their teeth in frustration as they wondered, what must have happened there.

"Long live the emperor" shouted the returning armored soldier

"Long live the emperor" followed by another soldier.

"Welcome back, heroes. I salute you for your return but due to a sudden attack on the homeland we cannot celebrate it as such, I must ask you, heroes, to join us to fight against the invader and push them back to where they come from." said by the emperor.

"Invader, yeah right." by one of the militias who join.

"Eh?" he continues in surprise as he was dragged away.

"As you see because we lost multiple times, some of them started to rebel against us their rightful ruler. Please general lead the assault, deliver us to victory" said the emperor as he pleads.

"Yes, My emperor we shall do so as it is our duty," said the knight general.

"Good general show them what is the strength of the Malacca empire and give them the true meaning of fear." said the emperor.

"As you wish." said the general.

The noble who saw his arrival quickly celebrate and thought the war will fall under their favor after the arrival of a legendary general who had more sophisticated equipment, more manpower, and more experience in war than the other Malacca army.

As the army of the Malacca and the Majapahit army feast and rest as to prepare them for the battle that will occur tomorrow in the afternoon, As the day had passed and afternoon arrive the two major armies face to face with each other with the numerical number is on the Majapahit side.

Due to calculated skill, Agus precisely put a trap on the hillside and some other area that he predicted where the enemy extra force would appear as they will face more experienced soldiers and he will expect some casualties.

"Hm, this is the enemy. Indeed this is a formidable foe but I must defeat it" said the Malacca general.

The general himself straightens up his posture as he gazes down at the Majapahit army from the hillside of the Malacca Empire.

"I,  Habib Mussafad shall be your opponent today. Majapahit I shall have you bow under my feet," as he looks at the Majapahit army in anticipation.
