Lydia.
"And till date grandmother is still talked about by my friends." Sebastian's sister, Olivia, said letting another chuckle escape my lips, while she told us of an incident her Grandmother performed at her fashion show, whereas her grandmother was also present on the table with us. My gaze met with that of Sebastian beside me, as he passed me a warm smile along with one hand which caressed mine on the table, while I also returned his smile with a blush creeping my cheeks. “You both make such a wonderful couple.” Olivia added.
“One I am so proud to see. You have made me so happy, Sebastian.” Arielle, Sebastian and Olivia’s Grandmother whom also dined with us spoke, while she stared at both of us with contentment in her eyes.
“Thank you grandmother,” Sebastian spoke, letting out his usual thick manly voice which always caused me to drool over it.
“So, when is the wedding?” The water which I began to drink almost choked my throat upon hearing Olivia’s words, whereas series of coughs followed through.
“Oh dear, take it gently,” Arielle said, as she saw my condition.
“Are you okay darling?” Sebastian’s hand moved to tap my back gently as his face became worrisome.
“Yes I’m fine.” I lied effortlessly, with a smile on my lips. With my job came my ability to know how to maneuver my words, however Olivia’s question did take me by stun.
“Are you alright Stella?” Olivia asked, while it took me a while to have figured that she was indeed speaking to me.
“Yes, thank you, I am.” I smiled. “You need not worry, please continue.” I gestured towards the meal on the table, while Olivia smiled back.
“When is the wedding? When should we begin preparing for it?” When I mentioned for Olivia to continue, I obviously didn’t mean for her to repeat her statement, yet she did, and my gaze turned to Sebastian as I gave a him warning, yet, calming smile.
“Kindly have patience Olivia. We will get to that eventually for it is my intention to spend the rest of my life with Stella, yet, at the moment, Stella has some projects which she has to complete first.” Sebastian said.
“Sebastian is correct. I am the one delaying his plans which I apologize for and he has been so understanding, which is also what I ask from you. Once it is complete, the date will be announced.” I added, whereas Arielle only stared at me in awe, while Olivia nodded her head.
“We understand my dear, and we are not rushing, we just can’t wait to see my beautiful boy get married.” Arielle spoke, while we all chucked lightly.
“I believe I have satisfied your desire Granma of wanting to see Stella again.” Sebastian said, as my gaze moved to him. Sebastian Black, CEO to Black industries and one of the individuals who was in Forbes of billionaires under 30 but now under Forbes facts and figures and part of the most eligible bachelors of New York City, also a major client of mine. Yes, he was stinkly rich and one would assume he would have multiple girlfriends, yet, that wasn’t the case for Sebastian, as even if I didn’t know much of his daily life, I did know Sebastian was single even if women were at his feets.
“Oh yes you have.” Arielle replied.
“I’m certain, Stella would be tired by now, so we must take our leave for it is getting quite late.” Sebastian spoke while checking the time on his silver Hermes Arceau wrist watch. Sebastian guided me up, while we all stood up together.
“Of course. It was nice seeing again Stella,” Olivia spoke, as she faced me.
“It was my pleasure Olivia.” I moved closer to her before I pulled her into a hug. “Thank you for the dinner.” I said as we pulled apart. I left Olivia and walked to Arielle, as I held her hands in mine, before placing a kiss on her cheek. “Stay well and healthy Ariella,” I said to Sebastian Grandmother, as she smiled back at me warmly.
“I will Stella.” Arielle said. Sebastian and I took our leave, as we got into his Audi and he drove off.
“Heaw, I am truly exhausted.” I relaxed my back on the chair while I closed my eyes, whereas the blonde wig which I wore itched the hell out of me to take it off. Sebastian chuckled at my words, as it got me to open my eyes and a smile took my lips at the handsome laugh which followed out of a handsome man, with his hair well shaved into a fade haircut with a light bearded jaw and pink lips.
“Thank you Lydia,” Sebastian said. Of course my real name wasn’t Stella. Each of my clients had different names which I used for them for disclosure and none of them came close to finding out my real name, that is, except Sebastian whom had become my major and regular client.
“You need not thank me Sebastian, you’re paying me for doing my job.” I told him, whereas Sebastian went quiet for a while. I’ve known Sebastian for a year now, and he requested my service to play his pretend girlfriend for his family whom kept on pestering him for a girlfriend. My price was fixed when it came to my clients, but with Sebastian he didn’t pay the fixed price as he always paid over my price, which is why I always put him top of my list of clients.
“What are you doing tomorrow?” Sebastian asked me out of the blue.
“I have a scheduled meeting with another client.” I told Sebastian.
“The whole day?” Sebastian asked.
“Yes.” I answered.
“If so, can I buy your day then tomorrow?” Sebastian asked me, as his car came to a stop.
“You know it doesn’t work like that Sebastian. My word is what makes me efficient and I have each of my client booked, so postponing one for the other would make me unprofessional, regardless of how much you can pay me.” I told Sebastian truthfully.
“Fine then, but I would like to buy your day, if you can spare one to me.” Sebastian said, and my gaze stayed on him.
“Alright.” I responded.
“One more thing,” Sebastian said, as he looked behind the seat of his car and stretched his hand to the back seat, while brought out a little nylon bag and handed it over to me.
“What is this?” I asked Sebastian, with a raised brow.
“Open it.” He said, as my gaze was still furrowed, nevertheless, I opened it and and my gaze went wide.
“What should I do with this?” I asked Sebastian.
“It’s for you.” He answered and my gaze only furrowed the more.
“No…I’m sorry I can’t accept this.” I told Sebastian as I nodded my head negatively.
“It’s just a gift Lydia, there’s nothing more to it. I’m merely showing my gratitude.” Sebastian talked.
“And you have, by paying above my price, you don’t have to buy me gifts for it.” I told him clearly.
“Well I have, so please accept it.” Sebastian insisted.
“I’m sorry Sebastian, I can’t accept it.” I closed the box which upon seeing the contents, it was an expensive silver necklace with a pearl shaped stud. “I’m sorry.” I said again, while I handed over the nylon back to him. From his looks, I could tell Sebastian was hurt by my gesture, yet, I have learned it the hard way not to mix personal relationships with my work, as the gestures which Sebastian began to offer insinuated otherwise.
Sebastian took the bag from me, as he neither spoke another word, rather started his engine and drove to where he would drop me off, until he came to a stop, and he turned to me. “Just because you rejected my gift doesn’t mean I still do not want to buy your whole day when it is available.” Sebastian said, while a smile took to my lips.
“You are persistent, aren’t you Sebastian,” I stated rather than a question to him as I watched his lips also curl up.
“Oh I am.” Sebastian responded. Having known Sebastian for a over a year, I have come to realize that he did believe everything could be fixed with just the right price, hence he threw more money at anything that proved difficult to him.
“I will take my leave now then.” I told him, as with one last smile on my lips to Sebastian, I walked out of his car and watched him drive away.
