Chapter Fifteen
“Engaging!” shouted Lieutenant Korhonen over the comm. “Cannon free!”
Bright railgun and machine-gun rounds streaked from the tank in the distance. A laser cannon blast shot across the icy plain, the energy beam invisible, but the disruption of the near-frozen atmosphere produced a hazy outline of the large beam. The shot sliced through the center of a spider Elite, cutting it in half. Its blood and fluids sprayed everywhere and crystallized in an instant. Another shot incinerated the bulk of its remaining body.
Most of the enemy force spun to face the new threat. They lobbed rockets and fired as a group to release a hail of cannon rounds and bullets across the icy plains of the moon toward the advancing hovertank.
