Malia As we entered the boundaries of the property to which this evenings tea was being held, I felt my own nerves turn to live wires. With my hand wrapped around my mother and grandmother’s arms, they led me forwards towards a large Victorian style mansion. Flowers that reminded me of my grandmothers gardens surrounded the house, in full bloom despite the lack of sunlight in the middle of the night. The lights in the house were dimly lit, the curtains drawn across all the windows to shy away from unwanted eyes. I squeezed my mother arm a little tighter as we approached the doorway. The wooden steps that led up to the house creaked with each step I took. It was my grandmother who step
